Reviewers commend the staff's knowledge and skill in dealing with various pet temperaments, which is a crucial feature for New Jersey pet owners with animals that may be difficult at other vet practices.
- Friendly and Accommodating Staff: The doctor and staff are described as "so friendly," contributing to a welcoming environment despite a pet's behavioral challenges.

However, it is crucial to present the significant concerns highlighted by one customer:
- Lack of Transparency in Diagnosis and Recommendations: A severe concern arose from a customer whose dog passed away shortly after a visit. The customer alleges that the vet documented a "possible cardiac disease" and recommended an "echocardiogram" in their notes, but "NEVER mentioned" these crucial findings or recommendations verbally to the pet owners.
- Failure to Communicate Critical Information: This alleged failure to communicate vital diagnostic information directly to the owner, especially concerning a senior dog with a serious condition, is a profound ethical and professional concern.
- Perceived Lack of Accountability: The customer's strong feeling that the vet put information in notes "to cover her ass" rather than for the benefit of the pet or owner is a serious accusation of a breach of trust.
- Warning for Senior Dog Owners: The explicit recommendation to "Be aware of New Hope Animal Wellness Center in Woodbury. I would not recommend this office to anyone especially those that have senior dogs!!!" directly from a customer's tragic experience.

For pet owners in Woodbury and the surrounding South Jersey communities, New Hope Animal Wellness Center presents itself as a conveniently located veterinary practice offering a broad array of services for various types of pets, from routine wellness to specialized care for exotics. The readily accessible location on Euclid Street, with dedicated parking on Newton Street, adds a layer of convenience crucial for busy New Jersey residents. Furthermore, the positive feedback regarding the staff's ability to compassionately and fearlessly handle "aggressive dogs" is a significant advantage for owners of pets with challenging temperaments, a service that not all veterinary practices can confidently provide. The friendly demeanor of the staff and the range of services, including wellness programs and even bereavement counseling, suggest a commitment to holistic pet and client care.
However, local New Jersey pet owners, particularly those with senior pets, must consider the extremely serious concerns raised by a recent customer. The allegation of critical diagnostic information (possible cardiac disease and recommended echocardiogram) being noted in internal records but "NEVER mentioned" verbally to the pet owners before their senior dog's passing is a profound ethical and professional red flag. This raises significant questions about transparency, informed consent, and the communication practices that are foundational to trustworthy veterinary care. The emotional distress and financial implications of such a lapse in communication for a grieving pet owner are immense.
While the ability to handle difficult pets and offer a wide range of services might make New Hope Animal Wellness Center seem suitable on the surface, the serious communication issues highlighted in the review warrant extreme caution. For New Jersey locals, especially those with senior animals, it is paramount to prioritize a veterinary practice that ensures complete transparency, clear verbal communication of all diagnoses and recommended treatments, and a proactive approach to discussing critical health findings. Prospective clients are strongly advised to explicitly confirm communication protocols and ensure all diagnostic findings and treatment options are thoroughly explained and understood before committing to care at this facility.

New Hope Animal Wellness Center Reviews
I brought my dog in for the first time on 5/20/25 due to the fact that I was concerned with her breathing and my dog passed away on 6/3/25. I could not read the vets writing so I ran it through a program we use at work and it says my dog had possible cardiac disease. I asked my husband to be sure; the vet NEVER mentioned to us about possible cardiac disease. Furthermore the paperwork says she recommended an echocardiogram which again was NEVER mentioned!!! If I was told about an echocardiogram being recommended then I would have made an appointment for one!!! It actually sucks that this vet did not tell us these things however put it in her notes to cover her ass!!! Be aware of New Hope Animal Wellness Center in Woodbury. I would not recommend this office to anyone especially those that have senior dogs!!!

Apr 28, 2023 · Nicole LarsenWe have a 16+ yr old shitzu, and it is my sister's dog, she passed away. And within a month she went blind deaf and lost. Then I found a cist on her, and we thought because of the way she was it's over that last thing holding one to was gone(sister) then the Dr said and explained in words I can not say, she gave us hope and we gave her the meds she needed and now she's 80%blind and 60%blind. The quarter size hole gone. An the price to keep a dog alive that's not in pain is worth it. They are your family/kids. Thank you so much for not over charging and saying it's gonna be thousands to safe her. The vet she was amazing. If I could show and do a commercial for them I would. She gave us the hope and advice needed to stop thinking the worse.
