NewDay Veterinary Care Reviews
I’m so grateful to Dr. Luckey for the care and compassion he showed during one of the hardest moments of my life. Saying goodbye to my dog was heartbreaking, but he handled the entire process with patience, kindness, and understanding. He took the time to explain everything clearly, never rushed me, and gave me the space to make the decision when I was ready — without pressure or judgment.Throughout my dog’s journey managing a frustrating chronic condition — and after going through several vets — I’m so thankful Dr. Luckey seamlessly took over her care these last few years. He never pushed unnecessary treatments or pressured me to go beyond what was truly needed. I’ve always respected that he clearly prioritizes the well-being of the pets he treats, not profit margins — something that’s unfortunately too common in vet practices these days. He treated my dog with genuine compassion, always moved slowly and gently with her, and that meant everything to me.We drive up from Charlotte just to have him as our vet, and I’ve recommended him to friends who now also trust him with their pets. That’s how much confidence I have in his care.Thank you, Dr. Luckey, for helping us through such a difficult time — and for treating my dog like more than just a patient. I’ll always be thankful.
Jun 14, 2025 · Caroline LaughlinDr. Luckey is hands down the best and most compassionate veterinarian we have met. His bedside manner and interaction with our dogs is top notch. He isn't afraid to literally get on the floor and interact with our dogs and he takes time to listen to all our concerns. I love the follow up from his staff in the days following our appointments. I really appreciate the calls directly from Dr Luckey after particularly complex appointments and when he has test results to discuss. He helped us troubleshoot skin issues with our boy Lemmy without pushing expensive tests/procedures and gave life saving surgery to our senior dog Frankie when he had an emergency on our arrival to the office for a routine appointment. We are forever grateful ❤️
Jul 13, 2024 · Natalie RochteDr. Lucky was very attentive and caring with my 2 yr old pittie, Lulu. She's a pretty healthy girl, so she's only been to the vet twice - once as a puppy and this time for a wellness check and wart on her paw. She was nervous, and Dr. Lucky did a great job of making her feel at ease. The only thing I will say is be prepared for a wait. This is a busy practice with one vet. Have some toys and treats once called back. I waited 40 mins from the time called back to when he came in. It was worth the wait, but just know it's a possibility if you have a pet that gets antsy....Aside from that, a great experience!
Mar 07, 2025 · Deidre MartinIn the past I would have recommended them to anyone and left 5 stars, but today I am beyond disappointed. My husband took our dog to get shots because we are boarding him this weekend at the pet paradise in Matthew's and they didn't tell us he needed them until a week before then they tell us they canceled our wellness plan when I specifically told them not to after the vet left the Matthew's location and told them to just switch us to lake Norman. They canceled the plan DIDNT TELL US that it was canceled and today we had to pay 200 dollars for shots that should have been covered by our plan and we now have to pay for boarding!!!! If you can send your animals elsewhere... do so! Not worth the aggravation!!
Aug 28, 2024 · Alyssa LiebermanI called to remove our wellness monthly plan subscription. The receptionist said the only person that can take that out of our plan is the regional manager and that I was going to get a call back when they removed it. Did not get a callback by end of day as she said so then I called again - the same girl says that the regional manager is on a weeklong vacation and that she’s the only person in the universe that has access to our account and can delete the monthly wellness plan subscription for us. So then I waited an additional 6 days… then I called back and it’s the same exact girl saying that the regional manager is still on vacation and then I calmly asked her “don’t you think this is silly from my perspective as a customer that only one human being can access the plan and nobody can delete the wellness plan. Kind of silly don’t you think?” Then the receptionist says “Let me check if I can get into your account because the only other person can access your account would be the vet” and I said “OK well is this vet gonna call me back by the end of the day at 100% or you’re not sure?”. Then she put me on hold and when she comes back on the line, she says our monthly wellness subscription has been canceled since March 25 and we have not been charged anything since then.My question is why didn’t we get notified that our wellness plans subscription was suspended? we were never notified and we were thinking for four months that our dog had a wellness plan when really he did not. We’re glad that we weren’t charged since March but it would’ve been nice to be notified and we were not notified that the Matthews location had been closed down for a few months as well so obviously when they shut down that location, they also shut down our wellness plan with it and we were never informed for four months. If I would’ve never called, I would’ve never known that our dog didn’t have protection all that time.We obviously moved our vet services somewhere else, but this was tragic And the runaround to just cancel the wellness plan only to be told that it has been suspended since March all along from the same exact receptionist was the worst customer service.
