Northwest Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Northwest cared for our last rescue kitty for years before she passed, then a year later when we adopted another rescue, they really help us after our 3YO kitty jumped off the exposed ceiling and hurt its paw. The front desk answered every call, and even after mom messed up an appt and dad showed up early, they made the radiograph work. Our kitty is all better with pain meds. Dr. Thompson is lovely even when we were annoying. Thank you for dealing with our level of pet panic a day into our new rescue being home!
May 14, 2025 · Pasado CAbsolutely amazing. From the care of our sweet Princess to the information, everything was perfect. You supported and gave us direction to help her now while also giving us recommendations to support her future. This hospital is filled with knowledge and so much love. Thank you so much!
Jul 25, 2025 · McKayla CollinsWe were planning to get a laparoscopic spay for our female dog. Since both Northwest and Green Lake Veterinary are part of the same chain, and only Green Lake offers laparoscopic spays, we contacted both locations to get an approximate cost. Both receptionists told us the price would range between $1,000–$2,000.However, when we went to Northwest Vet, the quoted price suddenly increased to $4,000. After negotiating, we managed to lower it to somewhere between $2,000–$3,000.On the surgery day (March 12), we dropped our dog off at Green Lake at 7 AM. They didn’t start the surgery until around 3 PM and gave us no updates in between. Our dog had to wait there all day, and we had to call and text repeatedly just to get any information. It really felt like they didn’t care about her. After picking her up the next day (March 13), our dog developed a UTI. We brought her to the Northwest location, and they did a urinalysis, but we didn’t receive any results for the entire week (March 14–21). We went back twice to do a second urinalysis on Friday and Saturday, and it was clear our dog was really scared of that place. They told us they would send the report on Monday, March 24.Unfortunately, on Sunday, March 23, things got worse, and we had to take her to the emergency room. The ER report showed inflammation in her bladder. But on Monday morning, Northwest emailed us saying everything looked normal in Saturday’s report. We responded with the ER’s findings and expressed our concern. they sent us the actual urinalysis report around 2:32 PM — and the timestamp showed it was generated at exactly 2:32PM that afternoon. It really felt like they only created the report after we questioned the morning email, which is deeply unprofessional. No explanation was ever given.I’m willing to spend money to keep my dog healthy, but that doesn’t mean I’m a fool. The staff seemed inexperienced, unloving, and unresponsive. I hope anyone considering this vet takes my experience into account before scheduling.
Mar 26, 2025 · Scarlett BiuI’ve been coming to Northwest Vet with my pups for about a decade now, and always highly recommend them to friends. They’ve gotten me in on short notice many times and the entire staff is incredibly kind. Our regular vet is Dr Whereat, but we’ve seen most of the other vets there—all very accommodating, thorough, and amazing with the dogs. My girl Rileigh passed away last year, and thanks to NW Vet, I got a couple more days with her when she very suddenly fell ill, because of their sense of urgency and calling around to get us into an ER for an ultrasound ASAP on a holiday weekend after they saw her. Those extra days meant the world. I adopted a GSD mix puppy, Lou, last year, and she’s already a repeat customer—puppies are truly hazards to themselves, especially the oversized clown-like ones.
Apr 12, 2024 · Caitlin ConleyWe took our cat in to establish care since we just moved here. They were quick and inexpensive. Did a thorough wellness exam without any unnecessary tests and got her vaccine schedule sorted out. The vet (I believe it was Dr Melissa?) is great with skittish cats. Our cat has never allowed anyone to turn her into a burrito but this vet made it look fun and easy lol
