We are beyond grateful for Dr. Lacey at Nose to Tail!!! When we got to get in December, we were literally at the the end of the line. We were at a point where we were thinking we had no other choice than to put our dog down. Not only did Dr Lacey save her, our dog is better than she has been since she had surgery 6 years ago. She actually has full bladder and bowel control, which she has not had in 6 years since she had surgery to repair a burst disc that paralyzed her. I highly recommend Dr Lacey for any of your alternative that care needs. She saved my dog's life! She also has a good bedside manner with humans... Very compassionate and sweet.. We love, love, love her!!!! - Tracey Wolf

Nose to Tail Animal Care - Animal Chiropractic and Holistic, Wylie Texas Introduce

For many Texans, our pets are more than just companions; they are cherished family members. When their health and mobility are a concern, we want to explore every option to ensure they live their happiest, most comfortable lives. Traditional veterinary medicine is often a first step, but a growing number of pet owners are looking at complementary and alternative therapies to address issues like pain, limited mobility, and age-related changes. Nose to Tail Animal Care, led by Dr. Ruth Lacey in Wylie, Texas, offers a specialized approach that combines veterinary knowledge with the principles of animal chiropractic and holistic care. This practice is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of animals—from the family dog and cat to large animals like horses—by focusing on a whole-body approach to health.

Nose to Tail Animal Care is located at 2041 S State Hwy 78 Suite 106, Wylie, TX 75098, USA. This location makes the practice a convenient choice for residents of Wylie and the surrounding communities, including Sachse, Murphy, and Lavon. The clinic is designed to be accessible to all clients, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a restroom for client use. Dr. Lacey also offers flexible options for farm calls and house calls, which is a significant benefit for owners of large animals and for those whose pets are not comfortable with travel. To ensure a focused and unhurried experience for each patient, appointments are recommended. This allows Dr. Lacey to dedicate her full attention to your pet's needs and to provide a thorough, personalized consultation.

Nose to Tail Animal Care specializes in a range of holistic and chiropractic services, focusing on non-invasive therapies to improve an animal's quality of life. The practice is led by Dr. Ruth Lacey, who is a licensed veterinarian additionally certified in animal chiropractic. The services offered include:

  • Animal Chiropractic: This is the core service, providing Chiropractic Adjustments, Chiropractic Care, and Veterinary Chiropractic for all species, including Canine Chiropractic, Feline Chiropractic, and Equine Chiropractic.
  • Holistic Veterinary Care: A holistic approach to health that includes looking at the whole animal, from behavior to nutrition, to address underlying issues.
  • Laser Therapy: Utilizing advanced technology like the MedcoVet Luma Laser for Photobiomodulation Therapy to reduce pain and inflammation and promote healing.
  • Natural Health Consults: Dr. Lacey offers consultations on topics such as food therapy (including traditional Chinese veterinary medicine / TCVM) and aromatherapy with animal-safe essential oils.
  • House Calls: Offering House Calls and Farm Calls to provide convenient care for pets and Large Animals that are not easily transported.
  • Prenatal Care: Specialized care for pregnant animals.

The approach at this clinic does not replace traditional veterinary medicine, but works in conjunction with it to provide a more complete picture of your pet’s health. Dr. Lacey is skilled at observing and treating issues that may be overlooked in a general practice setting.

Several key features and highlights make Nose to Tail Animal Care a standout choice for pet owners in Texas. The most compelling feature is Dr. Lacey's unique dual certification as a licensed veterinarian and a certified animal chiropractor. This combination of traditional medical knowledge with specialized holistic training allows her to provide a well-rounded and deeply informed level of care. Customer reviews consistently praise her compassionate "bedside manner," not just with animals but with their human companions as well. One review from a customer whose dog was facing a grave prognosis noted that Dr. Lacey "saved her life" and that the dog regained full bladder and bowel control after six years of paralysis—a truly remarkable result. Another customer whose senior dog was slowing down was "astonished" to see him "running and jumping like a pup again" after his first adjustment. Dr. Lacey is also highlighted for her thoroughness, attention to detail, and ability to notice subtle signs of health issues that others might miss, as demonstrated by her early detection of a spleen tumor in a client's dog. This level of personalized care, combined with her knowledge of nutrition and natural supplements, creates an environment where pets and owners feel genuinely cared for. The clinic's flexibility in offering house and farm calls also makes it a valuable resource for a wide range of clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The customer testimonials are a powerful testament to the transformative impact of her work, describing results that range from a dramatic increase in energy in a senior dog to an almost miraculous recovery for a paralyzed dog. Beyond the physical results, clients appreciate Dr. Lacey's ability to connect with both the animal and the human, providing not only medical care but also emotional support and education.
