Powder Ridge Veterinary Hospital Reviews
I’ve been visiting powder ridge with my senior samoyed Tia. I chose to visit this vet due to her veterinarian Dr.Reeves switching clinics, Tia has been with him for 13 years and I assumed the switch would benefit myself and my beloved dog. My experience was positive up until my visit today which was only to receive a shot for her arthritis pain. It was a visit that should have been quick and easy. Upon arrival the tech demanded that they put a choke collar on her as we were waiting at the visiting room door. They said it is policy to put on the choke collar which restricts when the animals pulls away or someone pulls the animal and is used to create slight pain in order to control an animal. My dog tia is elderly and has pain as is not to mention she is extremely well behaved and docile. I was shocked by this demand due to not having to do this at prior visits and the simple fact that we were already standing at the door entrance of the room! I told them no they would not be putting that on her it would upset her and she plain and simple did not need it! Upon being told I would not be allowing them to put the choke collar on the tech got the manager who doubled down on this demand and humiliated me by arguing over this in front of all the staff as well as all other patients in the waiting area. They then told me they will not be seeing tia today and would refund the price of the shot she was there to receive! They weren’t even certain how to preform the refund. After refunding the amount on my card they shocked me farther by stating they would not be allowing tia to return as a patient after this visit! I am beyond frustrated and feel disrespected by this experience. My dog is in her elderly years and I only want her to be treated kindly and respectfully which apparently this clinic was incapable of. I would never return or recommend this vet office to anyone! Kindness and patience is not a lot to ask for especially when working with pets!
Jul 02, 2025 · Anna K D’AnnaGreat serviceMy cat needed surgery to remove bladder stones, and I couldn't afford the prices at most surgical centers, including with our primary office. Powder Ridge fit us in within a week, did the tests in the same appointment, and got my cat scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks. My cat did great coming out of surgery, and they babied him all day. They also gave super clear instructions, and at his follow up visit the vet took great care to answer all of my questions - big and small. The staff at the desk, the techs, and the vets I saw were all top tier. Friendly, considerate, helpful, and receptive when I had questions or concerns. They're everything you want in an office and now my cat is on the road to recovery in comfort. I'm endlessly thankful.
Feb 04, 2025 · Caitlyn MonterossoWe switched to this vet later in our dogs life, but I wish we were with them the whole time! Everyone is so kind, and they really made sure to keep things low-anxiety. There is no waiting room, you call when you get there and then they bring you in (this was really important to me as my dog becomes anxious in waiting rooms with other animals). They are priced very reasonably, and you can tell they are there for the love of the animal. We had to put our dog down, and while it was a horrible moment, they really put a lot of love into it and we couldn't be more grateful.
May 28, 2025 · Kelley BreyerGreat staff and Doctors. Dr. Carey was very caring and answered my questions patiently (even with follow up call)The whole staff is great. Our tech was so friendly. My scared cat took to her and she was very sweet to my cat.
