Durham Veterinary Hospital Reviews
My dog was examined for a arthritic back leg on a Monday. She was prescribed 2 medications and within 3 days she was gone. I tried to get her back to the vet mid week because I thought she might be having a reaction to 1 med, but was told to come in the following Monday. Even after emailing Dr. Kumar, I received no response. Totally disappointed and would not recommend taking your pet there.
Jun 26, 2025 · steve KwieragaDurham vet is the best!!! All the staff are super friendly and it's always easy to schedule an appointment, often on the same day. Dr. Norton is very experienced with fancy rats, and don't charge an extra arm and a leg because they're "exotics", like many other vets. They are great about giving you multiple options for treatment and not immediately over-treating or only recommending the most expensive treatment. Once, my rat needed antibiotics and they went out of their way to get the 'right' kind of cherry syrup from their other office that rats find palatable before I even got there- I suspect this is just one example of how they go the extra mile to provide excellent care. The office is super clean and pretty and they have free coffee and hot chocolate. Even without the coffee they have my business for life!
Mar 22, 2025 · Eve SchneiderDurham Vet is very expensive. The doctors and techs are great. The new front desk staff is awkward and a bit cold. We always felt very welcomed - now they barely look at you in the eye. Needs definitely improvement there.
Jan 19, 2025 · Amanda KarrosNot the small town family friendly vet it once was. Haven't seen the doctor i fell in love with years ago in my last 3 visits, all they care about is your wallet, 300 bucks down the drain for a hematoma on my dogs ear that refilled before they even swipped my credit card, my cat is on prescription food for a urinary block, they are suddenly withholding food unless I bring him in for a yearly visit to keep it going. So far I've talked to 2 other vets and this is not the policy for prescription food, just actual medications. Im not interested in seeing the vet for anything other than rabies shots and emergencies
Jun 12, 2025 · Jeffrey Fazzino1) Great doctors and staff. Very caring and inclusive of your pet's health.2) They recently built an addition to their original building. It is very large, clean and professional.I have been taking my pets (dogs) to them for at least 10 years now. I highly recommend them.
