South Asheville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Reviews
My chihuahua was displaying signs of choke while in the mountains fishing. We searched emergency veterinary hospitals near us and made the hour drive into Asheville. They were very helpful and accommodating. Dr. Ashe was very thorough in her investigation of his issue and was able to locate and remove the string that was wrapped around his molar and stuck in his throat. He had immediate relief and was back to his normal spunky self the next morning. Would highly recommend! Thank you to the SAVES team for taking great care of our little Jefe. 🫶
Jun 22, 2025 · Stephanie LawsonThis weekend, I found myself on the receiving end of help, which is usually a role I play for pet owners in crisis regarding nutrition. It was heart-wrenching to see my pup struggle, and I was struggling too. The staff were exceptional—kind, compassionate, and they treated my dog with such love. The doctor provided excellent medical care and was incredibly supportive and informative. I'm so grateful to have this wonderful service in our community! ~ Christie
May 28, 2025 · WGM Pet Nutrition Co.When my dog Sandy wasn’t eating and started panting, I knew something wasn’t right. I first brought her to our regular vet, who recommended that I take her to SAVES for further evaluation. From the moment we arrived, the team at SAVES was kind, professional, and compassionate. They took great care in assessing Sandy and quickly identified that she was experiencing back pain—something that wasn’t immediately clear. Thanks to their expertise and thoughtful care, we were able to get Sandy the right treatment and some much-needed relief. I’m so grateful to SAVES for helping us understand what was going on. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs urgent or specialized care for their pet.
May 02, 2025 · Rosanna MulcahyI was on vacation when my dog's (Pancake) back end and legs gave out. I rushed her to SAVES. I was immediately greeted at the front desk by Shannon and Brindin who were kind and helped us get checked in. My vet tech, Quintina, was wonderful, so thorough and compassionate. Dr. Klem proceeded with a full physical examination of Pancake, including x-rays and blood work. It was agreed we would begin conservatively with cage rest/medication. 5 days later, Pancake has improved greatly. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the worst on day 1) she is a 4. We still have a long recovery but thanks to Dr.Klem we will get there.SAVES is definitely the place to be if your pet is experiencing an emergency or needs that truly expert help/advice.Thank you Dr. Klem and staff!
Jun 23, 2025 · Kathy DuncanWe had an emergency with our dog Sierra while on vacation, basically my worst nightmare as a pet owner. SAVE helped us through every step of it with compassion and care. From the moment we called to let them know we were coming to the day we picked Sierra up after surgery, every staff member was kind and caring.Dr. Slangal took time to walk us through Sierra’s initial diagnosis and answered all our questions with patience. Dr. Blankenship helped guide us through the next steps, giving us the confidence we needed to make a tough decision. She supported us as we weighed our options, and her empathy and reassurance made all the difference.Dr. Brown was incredible and explained the surgery in detail over the phone and continued to check in with multiple updates over the next two days. That level of care and communication brought us real peace of mind. Thanks to this amazing team, Sierra is now on her way home. We’re so grateful for the care they provided her, and us.
