★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've recently moved to the south side and was looking for a new vet that is experienced with exotic animals. I came here for the first time with my 8yr old Netherland dwarf rabbit for eye allergies and to get established with their exotic animal trained vet, Dr Austin. She was very kind and knowledgeable, and gave me some very good helpful information about my bunny's allergies and overall health condition. She made me feel like my bunny and I were in good hands there. I'm so glad I made the decision to give them a try. Very happy with South Des Moines Veterinary Center. Willow Bean and I Thank you all for your genuine care!
July 30 · Tonya DavisMy dog is 13. She just got sick for the first time. Emergency vets bills holy cow!! Because of the diagnosis we need a ft vet. My old vet wouldn't squeeze her in. This vet got her in the next day. Great care. The prices are so reasonable. We had the whole package including labs and it wasn't much over 200. That is cheap. Im so impressed. We loved them. We will be going there FT from now on!! Very very happy customer and dog
July 17 · Tina InmanMy pup and I recently had a great experience at South Des Moines Veterinary Center! We moved here a few months ago so I was in search of a new vet for her annual check-ups. I called thinking an appointment would be a couple weeks out, but they were able to see her the same day!Not only were they quick with getting us in, but they were all friendly and caring towards my baby once we got there! They wanted to hear of any concerns and took the time to converse with me regarding my pup- I didn’t feel rushed and all my questions were answered! When our appointment was finished, they checked us out in the exam room which I loved as my girl would have been very distracted from all the smells to sniff in the front. Instead, I was able to focus on the explanation of costs and just walk out of the clinic when we were done!Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be coming back in the future!
July 01 · Zoe SpinkI can’t say enough good things about South Des Moines Veterinary Center! From the moment I walked in, the front office staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly kind. The veterinary technicians and Dr. Beyer were outstanding—so knowledgeable, gentle, and enthusiastic about the care they provide. My senior dog recently had a dental cleaning here, and they made the entire process seamless and stress-free. They took the time to answer all my questions, kept me informed, and, most importantly, treated my dog with so much love and compassion. The results were amazing—his teeth look fantastic! It’s clear that everyone here truly cares about the animals they treat. If you’re looking for a vet clinic with a dedicated, skilled, and genuinely kind team, I highly recommend South Des Moines Veterinary Center. I’m so grateful for the incredible care they provided!
March 14 · BlakeThe nurse Ashlyn was absolutely amazing, my family and I had to put our fur baby down and we have never had to do this before so it was a very emotional experience for all of my family I can't thank the Dr or nurses enough for being so caring and having so much passion for my dog who was in so much pain. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone if I could give them a 10 star I definitely would. Thank you again to all the loving staff.
