South Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital Reviews
I am so thankful I found this place. Dr. Coke and his staff are all so amazing and wonderful. I thought we were going to lose our little Cookie girl for sure, but she is making great strides towards recovery now. I can not give this place enough praise to express my gratitude for everyone here and all you guys have done to help our little rattie. From the moment you walk into the door, you're treated like family. Dr. Coke was so caring, easy to talk to, and he really knows what he's doing . He explained everything cookie would need to have done and how to take care of her at home. Just in case she managed to slip her bandage, he sent home supplies to patch her back up. I LOVE it when you find a doctor who absolutely loves what they do because it just shows in the way they care for their patients and in their beside manner. My only regret is that I took cookie somewhere else before South Texas Avian and Exotics Clinic. For anyone who is having doubts for any reason or looking for something a bit less expensive, I urge you to remember that you get what you pay for. ( I say this because i made the mistake of calling around to find the best price, instead of the best doctor for the job) But, If you want the very best for your little one, who offers treatments no one else does, this is absolutely the place to go. You won't be disappointed. You won't feel rushed to get in and out and you won't be left with unanswered questions or concerns...most importantly you can relax and take comfort in knowing that your little one is in very capable hands and recieving the very best care and attention and is definitely getting head rubs and loved on by the staff throughout their stay. I would never recommend anywhere but South Texas Avian & Exotics. (Sorry for the super long review it was very hard to fit all the things I loved into just a few lines)
Jun 28, 2025 · Shannon LunaThank you so much to Dr. Coke, Gabby and Sara -- I bought Tater Tot in for a routine health check since he'd been eating less since I went away for a trip -- sure enough there was a seminal plug that must have been so uncomfortable.Post visit I'm changing out my lighting and thermostat and replacing his multivitamin. He's eating and back to his snarky self.Could not be more grateful for their expertise.
Apr 28, 2025 · Mara ArcherI was referred to this clinic by my existing vet for my ball python, Bean. An anomaly was spotted near his heart in x-rays done related to his pneumonia and the vet suggested that I see a specialist and referred me to Dr. Coke. I was able to get in immediately and have never experienced a more professional and knowledgeable vet, especially when it comes to snakes. His handling of Bean was amazing because it would've made Bean nervous if I tried to do some of the things he did. It shows just how much he knows about snakes. We got the best news that Bean seems fine for now and no expensive measures were necessary at this time. I love my snakes and will bring them back here even though it's a drive since I live out of town. The staff was amazing!
May 21, 2025 · Julie DaleThey were absolutely wonderful. They cared for my sugar glider quickly and were so sweet with her. Checked on her once we were home and made sure to notify me when the test results came in. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any one.
May 01, 2025 · Denise VasquezThis clinic was recommended to us by our exotic vet in LA. Our bearded dragon, Joey, needed to get spayed. The staff here is absolutely amazing! Dr. Coke & the front desk personnel are very knowledgeable, accommodating, caring, and patient. They answered all our questions and made us feel like Joey was in great hands! Thank you for being here for us & our beloved beardie!!!
