Deciding on a specialty veterinary clinic for your pet is a significant choice, and Specialty VetMed/ OVS Internal Medicine presents a compelling case. The most powerful testimonials come from pet owners who have been through the journey of managing a complex illness with their animal. One client's nearly two-year journey with their cats, Max and Vinnie, is a testament to the clinic's excellence. The client was specifically seeking a board-certified internal medicine veterinarian and found what they were looking for in Dr. Brad Green and Dr. Alaina Moon.
The client's story illustrates several key reasons why Specialty VetMed is worth choosing. First, the expert guidance and "true partnership" they felt with the doctors in managing Max's care during a terminal illness provided immense comfort and peace of mind. The personalized attention given to each animal, even those with different needs and personalities, is another key differentiator. The responsive and accessible communication—whether by phone or email—also stands out as a critical factor in making clients feel supported and informed throughout their pet's treatment.
While one review mentioned a negative experience related to a geographic boundary, it's important to understand the model of a specialty clinic. They often have specific service areas to ensure they can provide follow-up care for complex, long-term cases without being overwhelmed. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from long-term clients who have experienced the depth of their care speaks volumes about the quality of the practice and its dedicated team. Specialty VetMed/ OVS Internal Medicine Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been a client at Specialty VetMed for almost two years, and I continue to be deeply impressed by the exceptional care provided by Dr. Brad Green, Dr. Alaina Moon, AL, Jen, Kaley, Cara, Kendara, Riley, MJ, Sarah, and Danielle. From the doctors to the support staff, every member of the team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure my cats—Max and Vinnie—receive compassionate, individualized care. Before coming to Specialty VetMed, I had previously sought specialty care for three of my cats—now passed—in Tacoma. Unfortunately, those experiences did not meet my expectations. When another veterinarian strongly recommended that my senior cat Maxie deserved more attentive and expert care, I began searching specifically for board-certified internal medicine veterinarians. That search led me to Specialty VetMed in Olympia, and I’m so thankful it did.Maxie began seeing Dr. Alaina Moon in March of 2024, and her gentle, thoughtful approach immediately brought comfort and clarity. As Max’s health changed, he transitioned to Dr. Brad Green, who provided expert guidance, unwavering kindness, and true partnership in managing Max’s care. When Maxie passed away in December due to kidney disease, I felt supported every step of the way—and I truly believe Max received the best care possible. In January of 2025, my other cat, Vinnie, began seeing Dr. Green. Though my cats have never been treated at the same time, both have received deeply personal, attentive care shaped to their unique personalities and needs. One aspect I’ve especially appreciated is how accessible and responsive the team has been. Whether by email or phone, any questions or concerns I’ve had were always promptly addressed with clarity and care. That consistent communication has made a real difference in feeling supported and informed. The clinic is consistently welcoming, efficient, and staffed by professionals who are warm, responsive, and meticulous. Every appointment, every follow-up, and every interaction has reflected genuine compassion and professionalism. After nearly two years of care, Specialty VetMed has given me peace of mind and a renewed sense of trust in veterinary medicine. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Green, Dr. Moon, and the entire team to anyone seeking skilled, compassionate care for their beloved pets.
July 15 · Terrilyn BurkeThis place sucks! We were referred by our Vet in Gig Harbor to contact them for internal medicine support. Was told since we were outside of their "geographic location," they refused to set up an appointment. Fine! A business that runs that way deserves to GO OUT OF BUSINESS! Bye, Felicia!
July 10 · Frank MyersThese people are completely committed to the well being of our pets. I have had a special needs cat w mega colon and had subtotalcolectomy several years ago and I just can't say enough about how attentive and knowledgeable they are. They have also been soooo very reasonable in how they bill. There are no words to articulate how grateful I am to have them on my "little bob's" team!!!!!
March 06 · M LWaited 3 months to get my dog in to see this specialist that was recommended by my vet. Expected to have a procedure scheduled after the initial appointment and no procedure was schedule in the following 3 months. Had been told scheduling is coming and nothing every happened. Low and behold, my dog died because this office was having scheduling issues. The same day she died, they reached out to schedule her appointment.Don't go here. Terrible doggie bedside manner and they aren't actually interested in taking care of your dog.
July 25 · Michaela Skye Ward-BertrandtThe staff made sure that my Athena received the best care for her emergent situation. They went above and beyond expectations by coordinating with a second veterinary hospital to continue/complete her adventure.
