Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services Introduce
For horse owners in Minnesota, the health and well-being of their equine companions are of the utmost importance. Unlike care for small pets, veterinary services for horses require specialized knowledge, equipment, and often the ability to travel to the animal. Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services, located in North Branch, MN, is a premier practice dedicated exclusively to the care of horses. This clinic stands as a vital resource for the equine community, offering a comprehensive suite of services that range from routine preventative medicine to advanced diagnostics and emergency care. The team at Sunrise Equine understands that a horse is more than just an animal—it's a partner, an athlete, and a family member. Their commitment to compassionate care and cutting-edge medicine has made them a trusted name for horse owners across the region.
The philosophy of this practice is built on a foundation of deep expertise in equine medicine. The team, including Dr. Kirsten, is highly specialized, focusing on the unique physiology and health needs of horses. This specialization allows them to provide a level of care that is both precise and effective, whether they are diagnosing a complex lameness issue or providing routine dental work. The practice’s ability to offer services through farm calls is particularly convenient for Minnesota horse owners, ensuring that animals can be treated in their familiar environment, which can reduce stress and improve outcomes. As you explore the various services and features of Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services, you will see a clear dedication to putting the health of the horse first, which is a significant factor in why many choose them as their primary vet, even traveling long distances for their care. While a few reviews may reflect challenges with communication, the overall sentiment points to a knowledgeable team that delivers exceptional results for complex cases.
The location of Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services is specifically tailored to the needs of its clients. Situated at 39318 Poor Farm Rd, North Branch, MN 55056, USA, the clinic is positioned within a community that has a strong equine presence. This allows the team to be a central point of care for horse owners in North Branch and the surrounding areas. The practice's model often involves making farm calls, which means their physical location is more of a hub for advanced diagnostics and procedures rather than a traditional walk-in clinic. However, for those who do visit the facility, it is designed with accessibility in mind. The clinic features a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a restroom, ensuring that all clients, regardless of mobility, are accommodated. Appointments are recommended for both on-site visits and farm calls. This planning ensures that the vet can arrive at your farm fully prepared with the necessary equipment and that on-site services are scheduled efficiently, providing timely and focused care for every horse. This thoughtful approach to logistics and accessibility is a testament to their professionalism and commitment to their clients.

What is worth choosing
For Minnesota horse owners, the decision of which veterinarian to choose is a deeply personal one, built on trust and a proven track record of excellent care. Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services is an outstanding choice for several key reasons. The most significant factor is the practice’s specialization. In a field as unique as equine medicine, having a vet who is exclusively dedicated to horses is invaluable. This specialization ensures a deep level of knowledge and a focus on the specific needs of these magnificent animals, from their anatomy to their behavior. As one client noted, the practice was able to diagnose an "undiagnosably lame horse," a testament to their expertise and diagnostic capabilities that may exceed what a general practice could offer.
Furthermore, the convenience and efficiency of their farm call model cannot be overstated. Being able to receive routine care, diagnostics, and even emergency services at your own barn is a huge advantage, reducing the stress of transportation for the horse and the hassle for the owner. The availability of 24-hour emergency care provides a critical safety net, ensuring that expert help is just a phone call away, regardless of the time of day. While one review did mention communication issues, the overall consensus, particularly from long-term clients who travel great distances, is one of deep satisfaction with the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff. This loyalty speaks volumes about the practice's ability to deliver results and put the horse's health first. By choosing Sunrise Equine Veterinary Services, you are selecting a team that is not only highly educated and reliable but also truly passionate about caring for your horse as if it were their own.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm a picky witch with a capital B when it comes to picking a vet I trust to take care of my horses. My horses are my family and I will always put their care before my own, without question. Sunrise has been my primary the last few years and has been able to diagnose my undiagnosably lame horse, provide fantastic emergency care, further lameness diagnostics on seemingly sound horses, and more. Dr. Kirsten chooses her staff very well and I've been pleased with all services obtained by Sunrise Equine.I haul an hour up from Hastings for routine care, now that I'm outside their area, and it's so worth it. If you're looking for a reliable, trustworthy vet that is well educated in their services, decisions and puts the health of your horse first, Sunrise Equine is the way to go!
February 17 · Courtney Patton (MySweetCaroleena)Had emergency call out and vet said they would follow up with me that evening to see how horse was doing. I tried reaching out and got no response. Next day had another emergency visit since horse was still not better. Again no follow up to check up on horses progress. My checks were cashed but I had to ask repeatedly for the invoices that summarizes what care was given to the horse.
May 17 · Cailtyn PetersonThe care of my horse was amazing! He had to have all his incisors removed. They did a wonderful job in surgery, with his overnight stay, with his after care and with any questions.
January 21 · Jodi WarnerWe are new to the area and looking for a vet near us. The docs and staff at Sunrise are quick to reply, so kind, and sensitive to the relationship between us and our horses. They are very easy to partner with for my horses well being.
March 06 · Alana GrotewoldAmazing team of vets. Unfortunately, I had a horse that had colic and a tick born infection. It required multiple after hours and weekend visits. They responded quickly and took the time to treat throughly and explained everything clearly. In the end they saved my horses life. I’ve also used them for normal health checks, vaccinations and dental work. Their care has always been outstanding and the whole team of vets, vet techs, and support staff is great. They always call to follow up after the treatments. If you need a great vet then I would highly recommend them!
