★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've taken my dog here when I still had him and my cat Luno here. They're such nice people. The ladies at the front desk are very kind. The vet and vet tech are wonderful and answered all my questions. My cat is in amazing condition because of them. My cat has been doing so well my friend is now interested in taking his cat here and he lives in antioch. 100% recommend them and trust them with my fur babies!
May 18 · KatherineEver since I moved to Oakley, I took my dog here as he had a number of chronic conditions to manage. Everyone was very kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable anytime I had questions or brought the little guy in. Will miss interacting with such great people after my dog's passing. They made his final years so much more comfortable
February 24 · MarkInitial impressions, not a chain vet office... thank you. Awesome front office staff, Dr Lorie is complete and thorough, professional, and personable. As with solid professional services, you get what you pay for.
April 21 · Eddie KeatorI had a really awful experience with them this week -- no animals are harmed in this story. The rescue I foster for was doing a trial run to for spay/neuter surgeries since we have so many kittens right now. Myself, 2 other fosters, and Tami, who arranges the appointments, met over there at 9:15am. Usually, you can have one person do the transport for everyone, but they wanted all fosters to be present. Ok, it's our first time with them. Some of the intake questions they asked were a bit strange. "Where did the cats come from?" Then they asked where they were GOING and how soon they would be up for adoption. Huh? After taking them inside, a vet tech brought out a carrier and put it outside the door and said it needed to be cleaned before pickup. From then on the office manager kept coming out. She was hostile & condescending from moment one. She even remarked on how it was odd to see a group, that she was used to "interviewing" families one at a time. Tami reminded her that they had asked for all of the fosters to be there. She came out again to ask about ringworm. I mentioned that yes, my boys had had ringworm and they had been treated and had been clear of it for almost an entire month. Her: "what do you mean clear?" Me: "of the ringworm. They don't have it." Her: "well how do you know?" Me: "They don't have any lesions and they don't glow under the black light." She wasn't really waiting for me to answer before she asked her next question. Everything was overlapping and she had no patience or interest in what I was saying.Next time she comes out, she flat out TOSSES another foster's carrier down outside the door and said "clean that up before you come back. It's disgusting. It smells like old pee." No, I'm not kidding. She continues the ringworm interrogation, asking us multiple times how much contact our cats have had with each other. (Answer: None, but she won't accept it).It all just keeps spiralling downhill, but she's stringing us along. Scolding us while at the same time saying that they are still going to do the surgeries. And we are keeping it together because, to US, it's about the kittens. Shouldn't that be what it's about to a vet's office, too? I don't suppose I'll ever know why, but apparently her goal was to humiliate us.She told me my boys were "covered" in glow and it must be an environmental contaminant! She kept offering me handouts on how to sanitize my kitty area. A couple of us mentioned using Lotrimin powder and that glows. Ms. OM insisted that wasn't true. (Try it yourself & then tell me why this woman was lying to us.)By this point we e just wanted to get our cats back and get out of there -- because OF COURSE after keeping us there for over an hour they declined to do the surgeries. We all left mad, shaking, more than one of us nearly in tears. I have never been treated like that before, and certainly not at a vet's office. By the way? When we all got to our (separate) homes, we got out our blacklights again. Not a single glow. None. She wasn't just mistaken, or uneducated, or stubborn -- she was lying. If you go there, ask her why.
July 02 · April PadillaI had a terrible experience at this veterinarian's office and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. The vet failed to properly evaluate my dog and instead resorted to using manipulative tactics to try and upsell me on unnecessary services. Not only did the veterinarian jump to conclusions without thorough examination, but she also had the audacity to blame the lack of flea control for the "corn chip" smell on my dog. This assumption was not only unprofessional but also completely baseless. It was clear to me that she was more interested in pushing products and services than actually caring for the well-being of my pet.Furthermore, her behavior towards clients was appalling. She would engage in arguments in a futile attempt to intimidate them, showing a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. Her focus seemed to be on winning arguments rather than providing proper care for the animals under her watch. As a medical doctor myself, I was appalled by her lack of evidence-based practice and reliance on unfounded claims. It is concerning to see a veterinarian who places more value on arguments than on scientific research and the well-being of the animals in her care.Overall, I would not recommend this veterinarian to anyone seeking compassionate and competent care for their furry companions. It is crucial to find a vet who prioritizes the health and happiness of animals over their own ego.In addition to the subpar care and unprofessional behavior I experienced at this veterinarian's office, I was also appalled by their payment practices. Unlike other reputable veterinary clinics, this vet insisted on payment upfront before any services were rendered. This requirement to pay in advance for services not yet provided is highly irregular and goes against the standard practices of most veterinary clinics. It felt like a clear money-grabbing tactic, adding further insult to injury given the poor quality of care my pet received.By demanding payment before services were even rendered, this veterinarian showed a lack of trust and consideration for their clients. It is both unprofessional and unethical to prioritize financial gain over the well-being of the animals in their care.I was left feeling frustrated and taken advantage of by this vet's payment policy (which seemed to only apply to me at that time), further reinforcing my negative experience with their practice. I strongly advise pet owners to seek care elsewhere from a veterinary clinic that values transparency, trust, and the welfare of their patients above all else.
