Based on various customer reviews, Texas Veterinary Hospital presents a mixed but important picture for potential clients. Here are some features and highlights that have been noted:
- Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff: Several positive reviews commend the veterinarians and staff for being knowledgeable and friendly. This contributes to a welcoming environment where pet owners feel their questions are answered and their pets are in capable hands.
- Budget-Friendly Approach: One significant highlight mentioned by satisfied clients is the hospital's willingness to "work with your budget." This can be a crucial factor for many pet owners, especially when unexpected medical expenses arise, providing a sense of flexibility and understanding.
- Appointment Availability: Positive feedback indicates that the clinic often has "availability throughout the week in case something comes up last minute." This suggests a degree of flexibility and responsiveness, which is highly valued during urgent situations.
- Concerns Regarding Pricing Transparency and Service Necessity: However, it is essential to acknowledge that some reviews express significant concerns about pricing transparency and the necessity of certain charges or procedures. One detailed negative review described being charged for a "basic visit" where the actual vet time was minimal, and facing additional "biohazard" fees or recommendations for "unnecessary charges" and "recheck" visits that were perceived as exorbitant or unjustified. This review suggests a need for clients to be proactive in discussing costs and understanding all proposed treatments.
- Perception of "Money Grab": The strong language in some negative reviews, such as "money grab" and "scam," indicates that some clients felt exploited due to unexpected or perceived excessive billing for simple needs. This highlights the importance of clear communication about costs upfront.
- Doctor-Client Interaction: While some reviews praise the vet's knowledge, the negative feedback points to a perception of minimal direct time with the veterinarian during some visits, with more interaction occurring with vet technicians. This can be a point of concern for owners who expect more direct engagement with the lead doctor.
Prospective clients are strongly encouraged to discuss pricing and treatment plans in detail with the clinic before proceeding with services, especially for non-emergency situations, to ensure alignment with their expectations and budget.

Texas Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Started coming here since it was close to me & was so glad I did ! The vet is very knowledgeable and the staff is friendly too 😊 they also seem to always have availability throughout the week in case something comes up last minute. Highly recommend coming here & they work with your budget.
Dec 26, 2024 · Anna-Marie HearnThis place is a money grab. I was charged $85 just for a basic visit, during which I saw a vet tech twice for maybe seven minutes total (she was very pleasant smart with good advice and this review doesn’t reflect on her at all). The actual vet spent under three minutes with me. They tried to tack on a “biohazard” fee—twice both times I had to ask for it to be removed (also if I pay $79 for an injection you didn’t make enough money that I also have to pay the $8 for a needle disposal what a SCAM) since the dog got no shots. The vet did the assessment weight and temp in another room. All I needed (I knew when I went in) was a simple antibiotic ointment for my dog’s eye, something that should’ve cost $30 tops. Instead, they stretched the bill to $150 and pushed for unnecessary charges that would’ve brought it close to $400. $70 for a “recheck” visit most places are free? No thanks. They’re acting as gatekeepers to basic meds, exploiting pet owners. Online visits are $65 I didn’t want to wait for shipping. I’ll never return and don’t recommend them to anyone who values transparency or fair pricing. Edit I added a picture of what cost me $157. I literally picked these meds myself DID NOT NEED a Dr.

Their expertise and dedication were evident every step of the way.The staff was not only knowledgeable but also honest and transparent about the treatment process. I felt reassured knowing that my dog was in capable hands. It's rare to find a veterinary clinic that combines professionalism with genuine care for their patients and their owners.I highly recommend Texas Veterinary to anyone in need of veterinary services. They truly care about the animals and their well-being!Thank you, Texas Veterinary, for everything you've done for us!- Jorge Segovia
Nov 22, 2024 · Jorge SAt the bottom was my previous review from two years ago, but I'm adding to it now. We've continued to bring our dog Morris here to the Fredericksburg road Texas Veterinary Hospital because they have become such an integral part of our dog's life. In the last 2 months our family had experienced some situations that had required us to board Morris for what ended up being almost 2 months. It had begun with only a 2 week stay while we attended my father's funeral out of state, but then the stay for Morris ended up being almost 2 months, because my husband got pneumonia during our visit and couldn't return home. TVH never batted an eye when I had to keep calling to extend Morris's stay. Morris received top notch care while he was there: They tested for and treated an issue that they discovered when I dropped him off, and even helped prepare him to travel by air to join us because we couldn't travel back and we missed him so. I was really nervous about Morris flying, and they were marvelously patient with me and my fears during all my long distance phone calls lol. We decided to use some mild sedation because he had never flown before and he's a really active pup, and it worked beautifully. It calmed him so that he was able to be in the terminal surrounded by a ton of people, and I could handle him on the leash for the first time in his entire 12 years! ("who are you and what did you do with Morris, LoL") But seriously, his personality was still my Morris 🥰. I want to thank everyone at TVH for meeting our challenges and making Morris part of their family over these last 2 months. He's healthy and happy, which is a testament to the loving care he receivedOld review: We are new to TVH, but we came here because my daughter used to bring her dog Jayme here and gave them high praises. None of our dogs in the past would go into a vet's office willingly, but our dog Morris loves coming here! We boarded Morris here for a week and I was worried because he'd never been boarded before and it was going to be for such a long time. He must have had a great week because now whenever we pull into the parking lot, he's so happy he can hardly contain himself lol. He's being treated now for things that have required return visits and ask I have to say is, "Let's go to the vet" and my 60 lb dog is dragging me to the truck! Dr Stribley and the staff are amazing caretakers of our beloved, and we won't go anywhere else. Thank you Texas Veterinary Hospital 🥰
Jan 26, 2024 · Toni McCoyI brought my dog here when I needed a last minute appointment and they fit her in. They gave me some medicine for her and suggested an extraction which I expected. Yesterday they completed the tooth extraction and my girl is happily herself again. I didn’t feel pressured nor was anything pushed on me. I got an estimate beforehand and was able to use Care Credit. I will be bringing my other dog for his yearly
