The Visiting Vet Introduce
For many pet owners in Tennessee, the thought of loading a stressed cat into a carrier or wrangling a nervous dog for a car ride to the vet can be daunting. The traditional veterinary clinic experience, while essential, doesn't always suit every pet or every family. This is where The Visiting Vet, a mobile veterinary service based in Knoxville, TN, offers a truly unique and compassionate alternative. By bringing professional and comprehensive veterinary care directly to your doorstep, The Visiting Vet transforms a potentially stressful ordeal into a comfortable and convenient experience for both pets and their owners. This innovative approach to animal healthcare is a game-changer for residents of Knoxville and the surrounding areas, providing personalized attention in the familiar environment of your own home.
The concept of a mobile veterinary clinic is built on the principle of reducing stress and increasing comfort. Pets, especially those who are older, have anxiety issues, or are simply not fond of car travel, benefit immensely from being examined in their own territory. Dr. Bea Moody, the compassionate veterinarian behind The Visiting Vet, understands this deeply. Her dedication to providing gentle, loving care is evident in the glowing reviews from her clients. One customer, sharing their experience, noted how Dr. Moody "took care of Lucy's skin issue, caught her up on vaccinations, and loved on her." This level of personal connection and empathy is a hallmark of the service, creating a veterinary experience that feels less like a clinical appointment and more like a trusted friend visiting. This personalized, in-home care model is particularly beneficial for multi-pet households, saving owners the hassle of transporting multiple animals.
The Visiting Vet's home base is located at 8614 Neubert Springs Rd in Knoxville, TN 37920, USA. However, the true essence of this service is its mobility. The location serves as the central hub from which the veterinary service operates, traveling to clients' homes throughout the Knoxville area. While the service is designed for house calls, it’s worth noting that the physical location has a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that even when a physical visit is necessary, it can be accommodated. Given the unique nature of a mobile service, it is highly recommended that you schedule appointments in advance to ensure Dr. Moody can accommodate your needs and travel time. This planning ensures that she can dedicate her full attention to your pet during the visit, without being rushed. This emphasis on convenience and personalized scheduling is a major advantage for busy families and those with mobility challenges themselves.
The services offered by The Visiting Vet are comprehensive, covering a wide range of common veterinary needs. The convenience of having these services performed in your home cannot be overstated.
Mobile Veterinary Service: The core of the business is the house call. Dr. Moody travels to your home, equipped to handle a variety of health and wellness services for your pet, from routine check-ups to more specific medical needs.
Immunization Services: Keeping your pet's vaccinations current is critical for preventing common diseases. The Visiting Vet provides all necessary immunizations, making this vital aspect of care as easy as possible for pet owners.
Medical Consulting: For a wide range of health issues, Dr. Moody offers expert medical consulting, providing diagnoses and treatment plans right in your home. This includes addressing skin issues, minor injuries, and other general health concerns.
At Home Pet Euthanasia: One of the most difficult decisions a pet owner can face is end-of-life care. The Visiting Vet provides at-home euthanasia, offering a compassionate and peaceful way for pets to pass surrounded by their loved ones, in a familiar and comforting environment. A customer review poignantly highlights this service, noting, "She came to the house for that, too. So much less traumatic than taking them in to the office."
Exotic Animal Care: The services extend beyond traditional dogs and cats to include exotic animals, demonstrating a broad scope of expertise and a commitment to serving all types of pets in the community.
Spay and Neuter Services: While this may not be done at the home, the clinic offers spay and neuter services, essential for pet population control and a pet's long-term health.
Boarding and Grooming: Although not explicitly part of the mobile service, these are available, providing a full circle of care for your pet’s needs.
Several features and highlights make The Visiting Vet a standout choice for pet owners in Knoxville.
Personalized, One-on-One Attention: The house call model means your pet receives the undivided attention of the veterinarian, without the distractions of a busy clinic. This allows for a more thorough examination and a more relaxed pet.
Stress-Free Experience: Eliminating the need for car travel and the anxiety associated with a clinical setting is a huge benefit for both pets and owners. This is particularly valuable for anxious pets or those with mobility issues.
Compassionate Care: The reviews for Dr. Bea Moody consistently mention her kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. Her willingness to pray with a family during a difficult time, as one review noted, speaks volumes about her holistic approach to caring for both pet and owner.
Convenience: The ability to schedule an appointment at your home saves time and effort, making it easier to prioritize your pet's health. This is a game-changer for busy professionals, families with children, or individuals with multiple pets.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr B is wonderful! The first time she came to see our baby, Lucy, was a blessing. She took care of Lucy's skin issue, caught her up on vaccinations, and loved on her. Then she asked if could pray with us. While we were caught off guard, we were very touched by her request and said yes. My husband is bed bound and the prayer for all three of us was great. Lucy loves Dr. B ..... until the nail clippers come out. Even then, she tolerates it because Dr. B talks soothingly to her the whole time. Love you Dr. B!
April 26 · Susan LymanDr. Bea Moody is absolutely the best vet, ever! She treats our dogs in the comforts of our home! So wonderful to have a Vet that is such a joy to know and loves our pets as her own. In the past 10 years, we have had to have 2 of our dogs put to sleep. She came to the house for that, too. So much less traumatic than taking them in to the office. We love her!!
February 09 · Becky BallDr. B is such an amazing and loving person. Not only does she love, care about, and get to know your fur babies, but she gets to know YOU. She always remembers all of us by name. Always checks in. She’s so sweet and special to my family. She always leads Prayer with us for the many times we unfortunately had to let our babies go live with the Lord in Heaven. She always works with us and we recommend her to EVERYONE. That fact that she comes to your home is such a relief since a lot of our babies get anxious in car rides. Looking forward to seeing her soon for MY new baby’s first checkup ❤️🥰
June 26 · EmmaElizabeth_17There are no words and not nearly enough stars to accurately describe the wonder that is Dr. Bea!! I swear she is one of those angels that walks around in human form. On one of the worst days of our lives.. she came in and plopped down on our bed like she had known us our whole lives.. prayed over and loved on us and our Baby Dog Buggy as we helped her cross over the rainbow.. ( she was 17 but will always be our baby).. and made me laugh through the tears.. no easy feat... she and Whitney then snatched up our Beagle mix Gabby ( no easy feat either ) who was in desperate need of a pawdicure and took care of her while she was here.. I wouldn't have trusted another soul I don’t think, to take care of our Buggy's remains and get her back to us. Dr. Bea handled all of us with such grace, kindness, and dignity. When she returned with Buggy's remains.. knowing we were lost without another dog she made sure Gabby was up to date on her shots so we would be ready. Dr. Bea is part of our family now.. and you couldn't have a better veterinarian look after your fur children if you conjured one up than Dr. Bea. Candice and I love you and thank you for your kindness and compassion to our family..
June 27 · Chris Wilkinson- Smoky Mountain Process & LegalI have had Great Danes as my fur babies for 16 years now and discovered early on that a Visiting Vet is a must. Dr. Bea is THE BEST!!!!! She has been there for me through 2 sad departures and made the experience as comforting as possible. She was willing to pray for my fur babies and for me and I always request one of her heartfelt hugs. She is tolerant of my raw feeding methods even though it keeps the babies so healthy that we rarely require her services.I have no children except these angels with fur and I completely trust them in her care.
