VCA Advanced Care Animal Hospital is often highlighted by its clients for specific features and aspects of its service. A recurring theme in positive feedback centers around individual veterinarians, particularly Dr. Haganey. She is frequently described with exceptional praise, characterized as "Top Notch," "Creative, Curious, Compassionate, Caring," and someone who "Comes with Cool ideas." Clients report that Dr. Haganey has a remarkable ability to connect with animals, noting a "natural connection and positive energy towards animals," making visits less stressful for pets and their owners. She is credited with providing extended quality time for pets, even those with significant health challenges, enabling "more time for 'bucket trips' with The Wonder Dog." Such testimonials underscore a high level of empathy, innovative problem-solving, and a profound dedication to enhancing the lives of her animal patients.
The availability of comprehensive services, including specialized areas like cardiology, orthopedics, and advanced diagnostics, suggests a well-equipped facility capable of handling diverse and complex medical needs. Being part of the VCA network also implies adherence to certain standards and access to broader resources, which can be beneficial for patients requiring highly specialized care or referrals. The offering of services like pet boarding and grooming adds convenience for busy pet owners.
However, it is important to acknowledge that reviews also indicate inconsistencies within the practice. Some clients have reported less positive experiences with other veterinarians in the practice, describing them as "flat, unemotional to the point of being curt." Concerns have been raised about missed diagnoses due to a lack of common testing for specific health conditions, leading to "stress and time with our baby" and perceived higher costs. This feedback suggests that while individual practitioners may be exemplary, the overall consistency of care and communication across all staff members might vary, leading to mixed experiences for clients. This also brings into question the "Advanced Animal Care" moniker and the pricing in relation to perceived value in some cases.

In conclusion, for pet owners in Bedford and the wider Texas region, VCA Advanced Care Animal Hospital presents itself as a viable option for veterinary care, particularly highlighted by the exceptional individual contributions of certain veterinarians like Dr. Haganey, who is consistently lauded for her compassionate and effective approach. The hospital's affiliation with the VCA network provides access to a broad range of services and resources, addressing various pet health needs from routine wellness to specialized treatments and emergency care during business hours. While the comprehensive list of services and the positive experiences with specific doctors are strong points, some inconsistencies in client experience regarding other staff and diagnostic thoroughness suggest that pet owners might consider inquiring about specific veterinarians or ensuring clear communication about their pet's condition and necessary testing. For Texans seeking a facility with extensive capabilities and the potential for truly outstanding individual care, VCA Advanced Care Animal Hospital remains a relevant option, encouraging pet owners to engage actively in their pet's healthcare journey to ensure the best possible outcomes in the heart of Texas.

VCA Advanced Care Animal Hospital Reviews
Dr. Haganey- Top Notch! Love, love, love her!! Creative, Curious, Compassionate, Caring, Comes with with Cool ideas (All the C’s). Gave us more good time and more time for “bucket trips” with The Wonder Dog. My dog adores her as well. Can’t say enough good about her.The other Dr in this practice…flat, unemotional to the point of being curt. missed something due to not testing something that is COMMON with animals with this heath condition. They cost us stress and time with our baby. Didn’t suggest other common treatments that D. H did. This is shocking for “Advanced Animal Care” never mind the prices here..That is why only 4 stars.
Jun 03, 2024 · Brandt Street CateringDr. Haganey is one of the best vets we've ever visited. She was so caring and approachable with our cat. She has a natural connection and positive energy towards animals. I can't recommend her enough.
Mar 01, 2025 · Ben RoersRight now (Dec 2020) a masked vet tech comes out to your car and picks up your pet, takes it inside, they treat them or run tests and then call you to discuss, like most vets in these covid times. However, Dr. Trussell has been taking care of my cat for 17 years, and I can't say enough good things about her. She is very kind but also to the point and no nonsense. I definitely partially attribute my 3 special needs cats' long lives to her great care. One of my cats has a rare condition that requires special labs and many vets just aren't equipped to deal with it. One of my cats loves vet tech Rebekah (who he has known his whole 16 year life) so much, that he howls to go back when I bring him home from check ups. If you want compassionate, no nonsense, smart, honest vet care (and who doesn't?) definitely check them out.
Dec 22, 2020 · Brook BNot an honest or upfront place. Pet boarding is one of their cash cows - They'll try to squeeze all the money they can from you with exams undisclosed previously. I called the office and spoke to the office manager, I asked in detail their requirements for pet boarding, she said they need to be current on vaccines (which my dogs are) and gave me the daily rates for boarding (they charge more than other places around) When we show up to the clinic with our two healthy pets, we showed our folder with all vaccine records current, they spring on us that they need to do an excrement exam for each of our two dogs at $100 each and another behavioral exam for $50 each. That's $300 before any boarding fees!! Keep in mind none of those fees are listed anywhere on their site as requirements at the time of this review and the office manager never said anything over the phone when I specifically asked. I tried to look at their boarding contract and the file has been removed from their website (see screenshot attached) I requested to speak to the office manager I spoken through the phone and they said she was busy even though there was nobody else in the clinic at that time. The staff seemed indifferent and uncaring. I refused the fees and walked out with my pups and took them to Posh paw resort. They had no hidden fees or exams to try to push on you and everyone was super nice! Best decision ever for pet boarding! Don't support businesses that are dishonest and greedy. Have a great day!
Mar 16, 2022 · L FrancoIt was an extremely sad and dire situation with my dog but the staff was great and the doctor explained everything to us in a way to assist us with making a choice.
