VCA Castle Shannon Animal Hospital Reviews
I took our beloved family dog in who was acting off and started to have tremors. We were so pleased with the great care we received and immediately she was taken back by the doctor to evaluate! The doctor was very knowledgeable and helped us with blood testing and xrays finding out our dog was severely hypocalcemic and had a seizure, we needed to get her to the Emergency vet for overnight care immediately. Our dog was very sick and had we gone straight to the ER due to the busy lobby, I’m not confident that they would have brought her back right away or had her results back immediately. The VCA dr called the ER and said we needed immediate treatment. The ER immediately started a calcium treatment. This saved us money and more importantly possibly our dogs life! She is home now after 3 days in intensive care. Thank you VCA Castle Shannon for helping us and taking care of us right away even though you are not serving emergency services anymore you took the time to be kind!
Apr 24, 2025 · Yvonne QuigleyTwo days before the appointment I got a call saying it was being cancelled because I hadn’t confirmed the appointment. I hadn’t answered the confirmation calls because I was out of town but planned on calling them back the day they called me. I called them back to say I still needed the appointment and to please not cancel. I left a voicemail since there was no answer. Day of the appointment and I haven’t heard anything. They sent me a text message with a link that’s expired.I’m really disappointed. My cat has been in pain and I felt terrible for leaving town while he wasn’t feeling well but I took comfort knowing he had an appointment as soon as I got back into town. If answering the confirmation calls is a requirement to keep your appointment that information needs to be made clearer. I didn’t see anything about that in the confirmation email or on the booking website.EDIT: Called again today to make an appointment. Was told “you were supposed to be here today” even though I hadn’t confirmed gotten a call that the appointment was cancelled and I never received another call saying I still had the appointment.
Apr 27, 2025 · Shan DickeyMy pup Lu-Lu, happy and boundless energy, still greets the staff with exuberance. I hope she continues to see the technicians with those adorable eyes of hers and barely contained enthusiasm. Saying this because I feel as an owner it's important that my dog doesn't fear the staff that's treating her, or has anxiety about going to a doctor. She still has neither of these and I think that's 'pawsitive.'
Mar 12, 2025 · Kaddiss VentorumHad a weekend emergency with one of our pups. They scheduled an emergency visit. The staff and veterinarian were professional, kind, and helpful. I'm sure every weekend the emergency slots fill up quickly, we called early on a Sunday and were given one of the last afternoon spots. It is really nice to have an appointment vs waiting hours in a waiting room. My pup needed a muzzle for her ear puncture...they allowed me to muzzle which I believe was the best option. They took great care of us and we found the expert care was reasonably priced.
Jul 20, 2023 · Brynn RinehartAlways a warm welcome and heart filled care! As first time cat parents, they have guided us and kept us in the know. We value their services and would recommend them!
