August 24 · ERICH MASONSadly after 16.5 years our loving dog, Drama, became suddenly ill and had to be humanely euthanized. We had never been to this pet hospital but we were treated so kindly and compassionately. This was a very sad time and the team at the VCA Hood View Animal Hospital were so caring and ensured our beloved family pet passed quietly and painlessly. We thank you, VCA.
December 06 · William HobbsDr. Sheldahl has been my dog’s vet for over 7 years now. She and her care team are always friendly and personable, and I can tell that they care very much about the animals they see. Dr. Sheldahl is also understanding of personal challenges and takes her time to listen to my challenges to tailor the treatment approach in a way that works both for my dog and my life circumstances. I could not have asked for a better vet for my first dog!
May 27 · Emi MeltonGreat staff and experience.Extremely great with my dog. Great follow up.
June 14 · Flavia YoungstromI had an ok experience with my senior cat here, there wasn’t really anything great that stood out, but my cat was old so it was mostly dental care and making her comfortable toward the end so I didn’t think anything of it. Give that it hadn’t been a bad experience, we brought our kitten in as well. It was a complete 180. My first cat had been a street rescue and the kitten was a gift from a breeder and I can’t help but think that’s why we got a different treatment.I know that some people feel really strongly about breeders, but given that this is a professional company I would expect a professional response. This is still a kitten that needs care. If you don’t want a companion that comes from a breeder - don’t get one, but uphold professionalism in your animal care and bedside manner. To start the VA tech that first helped us had an attitude change when I said she was from a breeder. She had been a lot nicer before and the when Dr. Ball came in she kept honing in on how many issues the kitten might have because she came from a breeder. Regardless of us continuing to tell her that all the kittens and their mom had seemed healthy and thriving and we had no concerns after having the kitten for a month. Shocker, nothing was wrong with the kitten despite it almost seeming like they wanted there something to be wrong from how insistent they were. The kitten got the vaccines she was in need of and we were told that sometime after 4 weeks we could go back to get the second dose of the series. Her appointment fell on a date when we were moving so I called to reschedule. The receptionist that answered didn’t say there would be any issues. When I’d called before about my senior cat and had any issues Sandy had been great about letting me know if that was going to interfere with any of the treatments. At the appt for the kitten’s second set of shots Dr. Ball let me know we’d have to start over because too much time had elapsed between her first set and it was supposed to be done between 3-4 weeks. This was the first week of October. We had already been looking at an early December spay date and this just delayed everything further. On top of that, the questions we had were not answered. There was a lot of side stepping the question and not giving direct answers to what we were actually asking. The whole experience left me feeling frustrated and not well taken care of.We ultimately decided to go with a smaller practice, which was a complete 180. We were able to get the shots needed and the spay done with appropriate timings, the reception to our kitten was much friendlier and as an added bonus the cost was less than the up charge this large network charges.
