VCA South Shore Weymouth Animal Hospital Reviews
My recent visit to VCA South Shore in Weymouth was nothing short of exceptional. We brought our beloved English bulldog, Banner, in after he suddenly experienced multiple seizures—something he had never dealt with before. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff acted swiftly, professionally, and with deep compassion. They admitted Banner immediately, began critical lab work, and administered emergency medication to stabilize him. The doctors kept us informed every step of the way, explaining not just what they were doing, but why it was necessary. Dr. Andrew Farabaugh and his team went above and beyond, showing genuine care for both Banner and our emotional state during such a scary time. They monitored him closely, gave him a loading dose of phenobarbital, and developed a thoughtful treatment plan that includes neurology follow-up and long-term medication management. We left feeling heard, supported, and confident that Banner was in the best hands possible. I’m incredibly grateful for their knowledge, urgency, and kindness. They treated us like family—and that means everything. If you're looking for compassionate, high-quality veterinary care, I couldn’t recommend Weymouth VCA more. The entire staff at VCA South Shore in Weymouth has been absolutely incredible. From the front desk to the medical team, every person we encountered was kind, compassionate, and attentive. They treated our dog Banner with such care and made us feel supported through a very scary situation. Their professionalism, empathy, and dedication truly made all the difference, and we are so thankful for the way they took care of both Banner and us.
May 28, 2025 · Richard pelleyI went to the ER vet a few weeks ago with my cat and I was a mess after finding out I’d need to leave Ellie overnight, and even more of a mess finding out she has a mass and is on a very abbreviated timeline. Everyone was super compassionate, patient, and understanding - telling me all options and possibilities and assuring me that I know my cat best and whatever I decide for her is best.Dr. Wilson even texted me a picture of Ellie before her shift ended so I could see that she was doing okay. This felt above and beyond, and I’ve never been more excited to see a picture in my life. Dr. Gerhard was extremely patient with me on the phone while going over Ellie’s CT results - I won’t forget how empathetic she was and how honest and clear she was about Ellie’s prognosis. I truly felt like Ellie was the most important patient to her in that moment, and I’m sure she makes every single pet owner feel that way. Even just writing on the discharge papers how sweet Ellie was (when she is such a shy, scared cat) made me feel good and that she was in good hands while she was away from me. I was treated so kindly, and even though I didn’t get the outcome I hoped for, I couldn’t imagine better care for my cat.
Apr 17, 2025 · Megan KeoughVCA South Shore is amazing. The general practice at the hospital provides both of our cats with excellent ongoing routine veterinary care and vaccinations. One of our 12 year old cats has had chronic asthma/heart issues since very young and is seen by the Internal Medicince team which supports both conditions to ensure his continued health and quality of life. Our second 12 year old cat became very ill in April 2024 and was placed under the care of the Emergency/Critical care teams who diagnosed her with a mass on her pancreas. She had emergency surgery later the same day and the Medical Director did a superb job excising what was determined to be a cancerous pancreatic tumor (adenocarcinoma). She has since recovered from the surgery and is living her life playing, causing trouble, and loving her family with gusto. All indications at 13.5 months post surgery are that she remains in full remission and is enjoying a 10/10 quality of life most days.VCA South Shore in Weymouth saved our cats life and works with us regularly to give both of our cats the best animal healthcare and quality of life.
Jun 10, 2025 · Brian K. PerryThank you to the wonderful team at VCA Weymouth for their care of Willie. We brought Willie a year ago for a sudden illness, and could not have asked for a better team. From Dr Cornetta and Dr Ficociello who treated him whenever he was sick, to Dr Snell who meticulously managed his surgery, to his beloved Jackie in physical therapy, every single person was dedicated to treating him with dignity and love. Willie passed last week, and we felt so warmly embraced by the team during his transition. We will continue to bring any future fur babies here, because we know they will be loved. Thank you, thank you.
Jun 03, 2025 · Natalie VachonWe rushed our dog to VCA South Shore Weymouth when she couldn't stand or walk. They took her right away in the emergency room. They kept us informed and she stayed overnight and was going to see the neurologist in the morning. The sweet emergency doctor texted us a picture before she left for her shift. The neurologist called us in the morning, and our dog was going to have an MRI. They found the that she has an auto immune disease. They started a treatment plan with us and when we picked her up a day later, she was walking. We can't thank you all enough for saving our pup. We will never go anywhere else! You have all been great with us and our little dog.Thank you all!
