The check in process was ok, but what I don't like or not pleased was when the vet just inject everything to my pup not letting me know what specific vaccine is she putting. She put a white liquid in my pup's mouth and I don't know what it is. Looks like deworming liquid but not sure. The vet said my pup will have the rabies vaccine next visit because he is few weeks young to get it, but I saw in the summary in my email that my pup got it! I have noticed they are rushing to do the services. She should mentioned one by one what vaccination is she injecting. And not even one smile from her. I would suggest for her to undergo a customer service training. - Kathrina Bautista

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce

For pet owners in San Leandro and the surrounding communities, maintaining a pet's health with routine preventative care is a top priority. Vetco Vaccination Clinic offers a specialized solution, providing convenient and affordable services focused on vaccinations and wellness. Operating primarily within Petco stores, this clinic model is designed to make essential pet health services accessible without the need for a traditional, full-service veterinary hospital visit. The primary goal is to help pet parents keep their furry friends up-to-date on necessary vaccinations and preventative treatments, ensuring they are protected against common diseases and parasites. This is an ideal option for healthy pets that require routine wellness care, offering a streamlined process that is often more budget-friendly than a typical veterinary office. The clinic's staff, including licensed veterinarians and technicians, are dedicated to providing core services efficiently and with a focus on your pet's well-being. Vetco Vaccination Clinic understands that pet health should be a consistent and manageable part of a pet owner’s life, and their services are structured to facilitate just that. By providing services in a retail setting, they aim to integrate pet health into a pet owner's regular routine, making it easier to stay proactive about care.

The Vetco Vaccination Clinic in San Leandro is strategically located at 699 Lewelling Blvd Ste 168, San Leandro, CA 94579, USA. Situated inside the local Petco store, this location offers significant convenience for pet owners who can combine a wellness visit with their regular pet supply shopping. The clinic is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all visitors can easily enter and navigate the space. A wheelchair-accessible parking lot further adds to the convenience, removing any concerns about finding a suitable spot. The clinic also provides a wheelchair-accessible restroom for client use. These amenities are a testament to their commitment to accommodating the diverse needs of the community. It is important for clients to note that this clinic operates on an appointment-required basis, which helps manage traffic and ensures that each pet receives prompt attention. This model is different from a traditional veterinary hospital, as it focuses on specific, pre-scheduled services rather than a full range of medical treatments. The location and accessibility make it a practical and stress-free option for routine visits.

The services offered at Vetco Vaccination Clinic are focused on preventative and essential pet care, distinguishing them from a full-service veterinary hospital. Their model is centered around providing key health services in a convenient, appointment-based setting. This allows pet owners to address fundamental health needs efficiently. The list of services includes:

  • Vaccinations: A comprehensive array of vaccines for both dogs and cats, including core vaccinations like rabies, as well as others like canine distemper/parvo (DHPP) and feline FVRCP and FeLV.
  • Microchipping: A crucial service for pet safety, offering permanent identification that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.
  • Pest & Parasite Prevention & Testing: Provides testing and medication for common parasites, including heartworm, fleas, and ticks, and offers deworming treatments for tapeworm and other intestinal parasites.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Essential diagnostic tests for early detection of diseases, such as the feline triple test (FeLV/FIV/Heartworm).
  • Exams and Consultations: Offers wellness exams for healthy pets and consultations on basic medical issues, such as skin issues, cat and dog allergies, and weight control.
  • Pet Medication: Provides access to a range of pet medications, with a focus on preventative care prescriptions.

A key feature of Vetco Vaccination Clinic is its straightforward and affordable approach to pet wellness. The clinic operates on a no-exam-fee model, which means pet owners only pay for the specific services and products they receive, making routine care more accessible and transparently priced. This is a significant highlight for budget-conscious pet parents. The clinic also offers vaccination packages, which bundle essential vaccines and services at a discounted rate, further enhancing their affordability. Another prominent feature is the expertise of the staff. While one client noted a lack of communication from a specific vet, other reviews highlight the "amazing" and "super sweet" vet techs and doctors who are capable and kind, ensuring a positive experience for both the pet and the owner. A client's observation that their dog was "happy the entire time even when receiving vaccines" speaks to the staff's gentle handling and ability to create a comfortable environment. The location inside a Petco store is a major convenience, allowing pet owners to handle multiple errands in one trip. The clinic's focus on preventative care, from vaccinations to parasite prevention, is a defining feature, as it is designed for proactive health maintenance rather than emergency or complex medical treatment. This specialization allows them to be highly efficient in their specific area of expertise. However, it is worth noting that some clients have expressed concerns about communication and the rush to complete services, which is a point of consideration for potential visitors.

For those looking to contact Vetco Vaccination Clinic in San Leandro, the phone number is (510) 357-3387. The mobile phone number is +1 510-357-3387. The clinic is located at 699 Lewelling Blvd Ste 168, San Leandro, CA 94579, USA. As the clinic operates by appointment, it is essential to call ahead or book online to secure your visit and ensure a smooth check-in process. The clinic is housed within a Petco store, so you can often access other pet-related services and products during your visit.

Deciding where to take your pet for care is a critical decision, and for many in California, Vetco Vaccination Clinic offers a compelling choice for specific needs. What is worth choosing about this clinic is its clear and focused value proposition: providing essential preventative care at an affordable price point. The no-exam-fee policy and cost-effective vaccination packages make it an excellent option for routine wellness visits, microchipping, and parasite prevention. This can lead to significant savings compared to a full-service veterinary hospital for these specific services. The clinic's model is designed for efficiency and convenience, making it a great fit for busy pet owners. The generally positive reviews about the staff's kindness and the pet's comfort during the visit highlight a compassionate approach to care, which is a crucial factor for many. However, it's equally important to understand what Vetco is not. As a preventative care clinic, it is not equipped for emergencies, serious medical issues, or complex surgical procedures. A client's review about a lack of communication and feeling rushed during a puppy's visit serves as a reminder that while the clinic is efficient, it may not provide the same level of detailed consultation as a traditional vet. It is imperative for pet parents to use Vetco for the services it is best suited for and to maintain a relationship with a full-service veterinary hospital for all other medical needs. In short, if you're looking for an accessible, affordable, and straightforward solution for your pet's vaccinations and basic preventative health, Vetco Vaccination Clinic is a top-tier choice. For anything beyond that, a different facility may be necessary.
