★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s been a while for me to digest my dog pass away. I am really thanks all the staff at VCA San Leandro to support my family during the whole process, Niko is my first dog and he is like my kid. It’s really difficult. Thanks Dr Alice Wang give suggestions for what we can do what we should prepare and she did follow up every week for the status. I am pretty confident if I have a pet later, VCA will be my only choice even I need to drive twenty minutes more than others. Thank you very much!
August 09 · Dennis LiWe have had an unfortunate week with our cat resulting in him needing to be seen by cardiology, internal medicine, emergency, and now surgery. Every doctor and staff member I have interacted with has been wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable, and patient. One of his doctors from another department even came to visit me when she heard our cat was in their emergency facility. I was nervous about a few reviews I read, but a few things need to be considered when visiting an ER: the team is extremely busy, everything is expensive, and they can’t tell you what’s wrong without doing diagnostics. They are very upfront about needing payment, but are quick to refund if not everything was needed. I am so relieved to have found a trustworthy vet team after recently moving here!
December 12 · Erin HeimannDo not bring your pets here. My dog was attacked by two pit bulls during a walk and was bleeding excessively. I rushed her to this emergency clinic, expecting urgent care. Instead, we waited five hours—not for treatment, but just to be told what procedures they might recommend. We were left with only two options, to pay $1000, 2 times every week, for a month treatment (in addition to her visit here) or to put our dog down.In the end, we refused their service, hoping to find another hospital that actually prioritizes animal welfare. The most concerning moment came when they told me to get my dog from the employee area because she was too weak to move. I walked into the back room and found her lying in a pool of her own blood for the entire 5 hours we were there. She had been left like that—for five hours—with no gauze, no pain relief, not even the most basic care to ease her pain. This level of neglect is unacceptable, and no pet owner should ever have to witness what I did.If you are looking for urgent care, we recommend the Castro Valley Animal Hospital on Castro Valley Blvd. They were able to treat my dog immediately and 5 times cheaper and a more efficient/professional way.
May 04 · Tais BerumenWe went in today with our 18 year old cat. It was time to put him down. The young man at the front desk was amazing and very compassionate. The doctor was one of the nicest doctors I've ever met. I will definitely go back there when I need to.
August 15 · Sarah GallionWe were so grateful for the care and attention Callie received right before July 4th. She was seen earlier that week by her regular vet for an eye issue that her vet claimed was a scratched cornea. Two days later she was drooling non stop, wouldn't eat or drink, and cried when I tried to open her mouth. Thanks to the care and thoroughness of Dr. Shishida and team we were informed that she had an abscess which caused the issue with her eye. She was treated that night and we were able to take her home and I am so happy to say she is so much better! Would definitely recommend VCA in San Leandro!
