Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce
For many pet owners across Auburn, Maine, and the surrounding communities, keeping our furry family members healthy is a top priority. Regular vaccinations and preventative treatments are crucial for their well-being, but the traditional veterinary visit can sometimes present challenges related to cost, time, and convenience. This is where Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located inside Petco in Auburn, offers a streamlined and accessible alternative for routine pet healthcare. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of this service, detailing its focus on preventative care, its location, the services it offers, and what local users can expect.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic operates on a model designed to make essential preventative veterinary care more accessible and affordable. Unlike a full-service animal hospital that handles complex medical issues, surgeries, or emergencies, Vetco specializes in delivering focused, routine services primarily centered around vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, and microchipping. By operating within familiar retail environments like Petco, they aim to integrate pet health maintenance seamlessly into pet owners' existing routines. This approach can be particularly appealing to those seeking straightforward preventative services without the added cost of a full office visit fee typically associated with traditional veterinary clinics. For pet parents in Maine looking for a convenient and cost-effective way to keep their dogs and cats up-to-date on vital vaccinations and basic preventative care, Vetco Vaccination Clinic offers a practical solution.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic is located within the Petco store at 105 Mt Auburn Ave #120, Auburn, ME 04210, USA. This location on Mount Auburn Avenue is a significant advantage for residents of Auburn and the wider Lewiston-Auburn metropolitan area, as well as nearby towns such as Turner, Minot, and Poland. Mount Auburn Avenue is a well-known commercial corridor, making the Petco store and, by extension, the Vetco clinic, easy to locate and access.
The convenience of having the clinic inside a major pet supply retailer cannot be overstated. Pet owners can often combine their pet's health visit with shopping for food, toys, or other supplies, streamlining their errands. Ample parking is typically available at Petco, which alleviates the stress often associated with finding parking at standalone clinics. While reviews suggest that the "check-in" process may sometimes involve waiting in the car and then in line inside, the overall aim is to provide a quick and efficient experience for essential services. For many busy Maine families, the ability to obtain necessary preventative care in a familiar and accessible retail setting makes Vetco an appealing option for their pet's health needs.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic specializes in providing essential, routine, and preventative veterinary services for dogs and cats. Their focus is on efficiency and affordability, making crucial health maintenance accessible to a broader range of pet owners. It's important to note that Vetco Vaccination Clinics are not equipped to handle complex medical issues, illnesses, injuries, or surgical procedures, and pets requiring such care should be seen by a full-service veterinary hospital.
- Vaccinations: This is a core service, offering a comprehensive range of core and recommended vaccinations for both dogs and cats. These include rabies, distemper (DA2PP for dogs, FVRCP for cats), Bordetella (kennel cough), Leptospirosis, Lyme, and Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccines. They offer both 1-year and 3-year options for certain vaccines, depending on pet history and local regulations.
- Microchipping: They offer microchip implantation, a vital service that provides permanent identification for pets and significantly increases the chances of reunion if a pet becomes lost.
- Heartworm Testing & Prevention: Vetco provides heartworm testing and offers various heartworm prevention medications, which are crucial for protecting dogs from this serious parasitic disease transmitted by mosquitoes.
- Flea and Tick Prevention: They offer prescription and non-prescription options for flea and tick control, helping pet owners protect their animals from common external parasites that can transmit diseases.
- Deworming: Routine deworming treatments for common intestinal parasites such as roundworms and hookworms are available to maintain pet health and prevent transmission.
- Fecal Testing: To detect intestinal parasites, fecal testing is often part of their preventative care offerings.
- Basic Health Checks: While Vetco doesn't charge a separate "exam fee" or "office visit fee," a licensed veterinarian performs a brief physical assessment of your pet before administering vaccines to ensure they are healthy enough for the procedures. This quick check is included in the service cost.
- Affordable Packages: To simplify and reduce the cost of multiple preventative services, Vetco often offers bundled vaccination and testing packages for puppies, kittens, and adult pets.

Pet owners only pay for the specific services their pet receives, which can lead to considerable savings for routine vaccinations and preventative treatments. This transparent pricing is a major draw for many.
- Affordable Pricing: Vetco is generally recognized for its competitive pricing on individual vaccines and preventative packages. This focus on affordability makes essential pet healthcare more accessible to a wider demographic in the community.
- Convenience and Accessibility: The clinic's location inside a Petco store on a major avenue in Auburn offers unparalleled convenience. It allows pet owners to combine their pet's health visit with other shopping, saving time and simplifying logistics. The ability to often walk in or secure a quick appointment is a key benefit. As one customer noted, the experience was a "relief" once it was their turn, and the process was "quick."
- Focus on Preventative Care: By specializing in vaccinations, parasite control, and microchipping, Vetco helps pet owners proactively manage their pet's health, preventing more serious and costly issues down the line.
- Trained and Professional Staff: While experiences can vary, the goal of Vetco is to provide professional and efficient service. Despite potential overstimulation for some pets in the store environment, the staff reportedly tries to make the experience positive, with one review mentioning, "They gave my dog treats to distract him."
- Transparent Service Offerings: Vetco clearly outlines its limited scope of services, which helps manage customer expectations and ensures that pet owners understand they are primarily there for vaccinations and preventative measures, not comprehensive diagnostics or treatment for illness/injury.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Never Again Petco/VEtco is a scam from the set up of an appointment, pricing and any information are vague until you get there for "Free Dog shots" . Which you use as bait for a free visit from your scam company VETCO that tries to "jack" you for all the shots even when your dog had multi year shots LAST YEAR at a real VET. The Vet Assistant was rude and said point Blank " If you don't buy any vaccinations" the Vet visit inst free either. My 10 year rescue dog got nothing, I wasted a Saturday. The bad part is I spent 10's of thousands at that store, we've literally had 20 dogs in my adult life, many rescues, many 55 lb bags of high priced dog foods(Science Diet,Blue) toys and over the counter dog supplies were bought through your company. NEVER AGAIN,as I called and got the "Don't yell at me" hung up treatment by a "WOKE" associate who was anti-customer service and the 2nd time a lady who identified as a Manager(when asked by me) was more defensive than helping, kept repeating " I don't know what you want me to do" and " that isn't on us",at first it was Vetco's fault, now Corporate's fault and "My Fault". Who is policing the "Bait and Switch" like a shady Used Car salesman here? Why is it my fault? I'm the consumer, but because I tried to help my 10 year RESCUE Dog,I saved from death in Florida I got stymied by a NON Ethical organization that doesn't accept and social responsibility for false advertisement! Are they CROOKED and think we are Stupid as consumers? There are many Pet Superstores,I choose to do business elsewhere BLOCKING the WOKE at PETCO( for their slimy ways to con your Vaccination customers for their Pets when they get in the door! #CustomerservicesucksatPETCO
Jun 08, 2025 · Jeffrey AbbottI texted when I showed up. I waited in my car and never received a return text to come in. So I entered the building 5 mins before my appointment time. Then I had to wait in line. This was my rescues first time in a store. He was over stimulated by all of the dogs. I was nervous because I did not know how my dog would react. Once it was my turn, it was quick. They gave my dog treats to distract him. That experience was a relief.
Jun 25, 2024 · Cathie NoversaBeware took our dog in Saturday for routine vaccines, Sunday night she passed away. Petco only offered a refund of cost for the vaccine, and that the cost of the necropsy would be on a reimbursement basis. Our dog was acting normal before the vaccine then went downhill.
Apr 15, 2024 · Justin FarielI love how the VET takes the time to answer my questions and addresses my concerns as a new pup owner. Thank you for being so friendly and informative!
