★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Amazing staff! Excellent care for my dog who was experiencing a medical emergency in the middle of the night. She got better quickly after a night of hospitalization and supportive care. They made sure she was hydrated and receiving nutrition when she was unable to eat or drink in her own. Would recommend to anyone!! August 25 · Anne Tamkin
- I cannot say enough praises for VEG! Thank you so much for helping our little Ollie recover!!Our primary vet referred us to VEG due to vomiting and hemorrhagic diarrhea in our dog. We called prior to arriving and spoke directly to a vet. As soon as we entered the door, staff was welcoming and started care right away. The vet was on the floor with our pup within minutes. They were upfront and honest with quotes for treatment - high and low end. They explain the plan thoroughly so we could easily understand. The price was fair for emergency treatment. Our dog ended up hospitalized for 24 hours with pancreatitis. We were given the option to stay with him in a private room, but declined and were told we could visit any time. We visited the next day, his condition was much improved! Later in the night we were able to take him home 🖤We really appreciated the calls and texts/photos with updates throughout his hospitalization. We feel like the entire staff was passionate about being there and seemed to be a great, cohesive team! The open concept of the clinic and ability to remain with our dog throughout the experience was unlike other emergency vets.We hope we never have to see you all again, but if we do, this is where we will go for emergency care.We absolutely recommend VEG for any emergency vet care. - Thank you to Dr. Pamela Betancourt for her quick response and care of our dog, George. She was a resource of knowledge and made every effort to explain every aspect of care. She remained cool and confident during what turned out to be a very distressing time for us. She checked in with George often and showed dedication and concern by reaching out to us at the end of her shift. All of these traits added to my confidence that George was in the right hands.Thank you to Dr. Alexandra Thompson who was responsible for the second half of George's care. I appreciated her kind and down-to-earth nature as well as her genuine concern for George. She made it known that she was dedicated to his care both during and after his stay. Dr. Thompson added the human component that solidified my faith in VEG.I also want to thank all of the staff involved in George's care at VEG. Everyone was so kind, extremely patient, and most importantly, so loving to George. I am grateful for the opportunity to spend as much time at the clinic that I could and am thankful for everyone making us feel at home. I love the family atmosphere that the team created while there--the vibe was a positive one and the compassion everyone held for all fur babies in their care was so clear.Thank you again. - I just wanted to share how amazing this clinic is. My sweet old pup, Bella, got a laceration on her head after getting in a silly fight with our other dog over a toy. We had an hour drive into Madison from Portage since this happened at night time and our local clinica were cloased. I couldn't be more grateful for the team that cared for my pup. We had Dr. Thompson as our vet and she was a literal rock star. She was so cool, calm, and collected managing several different cases and phone calls coming in. She took such great care of my sweet pup. She walked me through the treatment plan and explained the little surgery every step of the way. She is hands down one of the best vets I have ever met. She belongs in this field. Dr. Thompson, thank you for what you do - your work matters and you are super appreciated. To the vet tech team that also helped - my goodness.... how did this clinic manage to find all of the sweetest humans in the whole world and hire them all at this location? The vet techs were all so sweet with my dog giving her lots of kisses and cuddles and even gave her a warm blanket after her procedure. I watched them treat every animal like their own with so much love and compassion. Thank you all for what you do! Your kindness and passion for what you do means so much to pet parents in crisis. You all are Angels. July 10 · Angela Paoli
- Arrogant and unprofessional. My cat started developing abscess and was getting worse by the hour, so I called this place around 10pm and drove there right away. They performed a surgery to get a lot of puss out, and I returned to the place to pick him up at 6am the next day. A nurse gave me a paper bag with medication inside(never showed me the content) and a paper with very brief after care instructions. I drove home in the rain with my cat, opened the bag, and realized there were only 2 medicines though the instruction said I give 3 different medicines. I called the place (around 6:30am, I had zero sleep the night before); a nurse on the phone said “oh, we have the medicine here for you to pick up”. That’s it. No apologies, nothing. Then she transferred the call to the doctor responsible, yes she apologized. At that point, I would have let it go. I drove back in the rain , again to pick up the drug they forgot to give me. Then the nurse handed me over the drug, saying “it was not in the paper bag because the medicine was in the fridge”. ??? Again, no sorry you had to drive back etc. At that point, I stayed up all night, drove back and forth 3 times, and had to take this arrogant attitude from this nurse. First of all, if they are incapable of giving all the necessary medicines that they charged you for, who knows what else they do (or don’t do) to your pets. And most importantly, what is up with this arrogant attitude? I drove 20 min one way, in the rain, just to pick up the medicine they forgot to include. On top of that, there were supposed to be 3 pills for a particular medicine but they gave only 2 (one bubble was empty). Sloppy. Would not recommend this place to anyone. July 06 · Y I
