Veterinary Emergency Group Introduce
For pet owners in the Denver metro area, the sudden onset of a pet emergency can be an incredibly stressful and frightening experience. Knowing where to turn when your beloved companion needs immediate care is crucial. The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Lakewood, Colorado, offers a new and innovative approach to emergency veterinary services, designed to alleviate stress for both pets and their owners. As a 24/7 emergency animal hospital, VEG is always ready to handle urgent situations, from accidental ingestion to sudden illness. Their core philosophy is built on transparency, compassion, and a commitment to keeping pets and their people together every step of the way, which sets them apart from traditional emergency vet clinics.
The entire model of VEG is built to address the common frustrations and anxieties associated with a pet emergency. Unlike many traditional emergency rooms where pets are whisked away to a back room, VEG operates with an open-concept floor plan. This allows you to stay by your pet's side from the moment you walk in. This "stay together" approach is a game-changer, providing comfort for an anxious pet and peace of mind for the owner. The reviews from grateful customers consistently highlight this feature, calling it a "total game changer" and praising the ability to "stay with your babies" during their hospitalization. The staff's focus is on making a scary situation less stressful, and they are trained to sit on the floor with pets or work wherever the animal is most comfortable. This level of dedication and empathy is a key part of the VEG difference, making them a top recommendation for anyone in a moment of pet crisis.
Veterinary Emergency Group is located at 5066 S Wadsworth Wy Suite 104, Lakewood, CO 80123, USA. This location is easily accessible for residents across Lakewood and the surrounding areas. As an emergency service, its convenient location is a critical factor for pet owners in a hurry. The clinic is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom, ensuring that all visitors can navigate the space with ease, which is especially important during a stressful emergency. For added convenience, the clinic accepts various forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, simplifying the financial aspect of an unexpected vet visit.
While the location is a fixed point, the service itself is a constant, as VEG operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This around-the-clock availability means that pet owners never have to worry about whether a vet is open. The clinic welcomes walk-in emergencies and advises that no appointment is needed or taken—the care for your pet begins the moment you walk in the door. This commitment to immediate and accessible care is a cornerstone of their service model, providing a reliable and responsive option for the entire Colorado community.
As a specialized emergency animal hospital, the Veterinary Emergency Group focuses on providing a wide array of urgent veterinary services. Their team is equipped to handle a variety of situations, and their open-floor plan allows for a streamlined, efficient process. Their services include:

The ability to perform ultrasounds, medications, and other treatments right at the benches where the owners are present is a key part of the streamlined process, and it allows the team to be incredibly efficient, as highlighted in one of the reviews. This efficient and organized approach ensures that pets receive the care they need quickly and effectively.
Several key features make Veterinary Emergency Group a premier choice for pet owners in the Lakewood area, especially during an emergency. These highlights speak directly to the clinic's innovative and compassionate approach to veterinary medicine.
- 24/7 Availability: The clinic is open around the clock, every day of the year, providing a reliable safety net for pet owners when their regular vet is closed.
- Stay-Together Philosophy: The open-floor plan and the option for overnight stays allow owners to be with their pets throughout the entire treatment process, which significantly reduces stress for both the animal and the person.
- Highly Compassionate and Skilled Staff: The team, including veterinarians like Dr. Stephanie Bronsther, are consistently praised for their expertise, kindness, and dedication to their patients.
- Transparent Communication: The team is organized and efficient, and they keep pet owners informed and involved in every decision, providing peace of mind during a difficult time.
- Exotic Pet Services: The ability to treat birds and other exotic animals is a valuable and uncommon feature that serves a niche but important part of the pet-owning community.
The glowing reviews from customers who have faced challenging situations underscore the value of these features. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is hands down the best vet and emergency hospital we’ve ever been to. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much the entire team cares about both the pets and the people who love them. We’re now on our second night of hospitalization, and every single staff member has been incredible. They are extremely attentive—no matter how busy they are, they make sure every patient is well cared for. They’re thorough, compassionate, and clearly know what they’re doing. They even have rooms with pull-out beds so you can stay with your babies, which is a total game changer! My girl already has anxiety, and I couldn’t imagine having to leave her for days on end while she’s sick. We’re not out of the woods yet, but thanks to their dedication, my baby is finally on the road to recovery. I’m beyond grateful for everything they’ve done, and I wouldn’t want to take my fur babies anywhere else. Highly recommend!
August 24 · Olivia GrantI can't express how grateful I am for the exceptional care my fur baby, Lyric, received at VEG last night. From the moment we walked in, the entire team was phenomenal. Dr. Stephanie Bronsther is hands down the best vet I've ever encountered, her compassion and expertise were evident from the start. I found myself wishing she could be Lyric's regular vet, not just for emergencies! The entire staff was incredibly caring and loving; it's clear they genuinely care about their patients. They were organized and efficient, handling everything right there at the benches: ultrasounds, medications, other treatments, all without the need for a separate room. This approach not only streamlined the process but also kept Lyric and other pets comfortable right by their owners' side.I can't recommend VEG enough for anyone facing emergency pet care needs. It's a wonderful place with a supportive environment and the nicest staff you could ask for. Thank you, VEG, for taking such great care of Lyric! ✨💗💗💗
July 17 · Sumflower MMy dog Lennon recently needed emergency care due to vomiting/diarrhea and subsequent dehydration. The staff welcomed us in and were incredibly friendly. Dr. Bronsther took care of Len and we were on our way. Unfortunately, Len didn't want to eat and we had to revisit VEG a couple more times, including for an overnight admission. Dr. Hansen, Dr. Martic, and Dr. Schultz (as well as everyone else) did their best to take care of her while we figured out next steps to get her feeling better. I ended up waiting at the clinic while we waited for an abdominal ultrasound and not once was I made to feel like I was unwelcome or taking up space. Every single person I met at VEG was welcoming, friendly, attentive, and compassionate. Len is finally feeling like herself again thanks to VEG and their due diligence to make sure she was good. They even called to check on her after everything! I can't recommend VEG enough - everyone cares about both you and your pet when you go there. Fingers crossed I don't need emergency care for Len again, but if I do, this is the place I will go every time.
August 15 · Charissa MuellerI had a wonderful experience here with my fur baby. My poor baby had something going on with her eyes. We took her here for an Emergency visit and they were quick to see her! All the girls there were so loving, gentle and caring with my baby girl. You can tell their energy was so positive and loving my pup even felt it because she was letting them do whatever they needed. They answered all questions I had and never made me feel like I was asking too much to asking stupid questions. Even when I left I called back to ask the doctor a question and she gladly answered it and explained everything and made me feel at ease and the very next day when I had concerns again she told me to bring my pup back in to do a post op at no cost she even went as far as to ask one of her other colleagues for a second opinion to make sure nothing was missed which was greatly appreciated. The whole team made me feel comfortable! Not only did they take care of my baby they also made sure we didnt need any by offering drinks and snacks they are very through and wonderful at what they do ! I would gladly recommend anyone to bring their pets here !(Placed pictures of how her eyes looked and how she looks now) THANK YOU VEG LITTLETON!!
March 25 · priscilla hernandezI brought my young cat here on a Monday night and every single person that I interacted with was absolutely incredible. The techs were so kind and empathetic as my kids and I just cried. They were patient and kind as we decided what we could do and gave us so many more options than we expected. We unfortunately lost our sweet kitty (not anything to do with his care but rather my cats rapidly deteriorating condition) but the amazing hearts of all the wonderful people we had the privilege to meet yesterday will stay with us forever. Even during our goodbye it was done with gentle words, grace and love. These people absolutely truly care about your pets and I will forever recommend them. Thank you for everything.
