This facility strives to provide the Kansas community with the medical expertise required for both routine care and unexpected emergencies.
The hospital is known for its professional approach and commitment to comprehensive care. A notable instance of their capability is the successful treatment of severe, complex conditions, such as a Great Dane suffering from a rattlesnake bite, where the team provided a week-long, dedicated recovery plan. This level of service confirms their ability to handle acute and life-threatening situations, a vital resource for rural areas of Kansas where venomous snakes are a concern.
It is important for local users to understand the structure of their emergency services. While listed as an **Emergency veterinarian service**, the hospital explicitly states that they are not a 24-hour facility and that after-hours emergency visits are a privileged service reserved only for their current, established clients. This policy is in place to ensure that their team can best assist those they know while managing the capacity of their staff. Prospective clients should note this distinction, as some recent public feedback indicates that scheduling and communication challenges have sometimes arisen, particularly for non-clients or during intense times of operational transition. Nevertheless, many long-term clients consistently praise the fairness of their pricing and the quality of the medical treatment provided.
Winfield Veterinary Hospital is strategically situated to serve the Winfield, KS community and surrounding Cowley County areas. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- When our Great Dane, Willie, was bitten by a rattler we took him to Winfield Vet Hospital. This was our first visit there. Each employee was courteous and professional and he received good care. After a week long stay, he was able to come home and continue healing. Their pricing is very fair. Willie and I have no complaints! March 14 · Kelly Hawley
- Have used them for more than 30 years and respect Kip immensely, but since the new owners have taken over it has become the most uncaring and poorly run clinic I've ever seen. To allow the extreme suffering of a pet because of scheduling is outrageous. Wouldn't even allow us to speak to someone about the pain our dog is experiencing. She is in her last moments and they told us to "find somewhere else". I'm done. April 05 · boyd pugmire
- The doctors and staff are so kind and caring. Dr Carlee helped me so much taking care of Karma after her diabetes diagnosis and answering all my questions. She also helped me so much when I had to put down one of my dogs. I can't thank them enough for their support and care. March 22 · Robyn Nelson
- I'd give 6 stars if I could! My 2 shorthair pointers got bit by a venomous snake and while short staffed they were able to get them the care and treatment they needed with 15 minutes warning. Thank you all so much! April 24 · Luke Smith
- Bad customer service and a waste of time. You call they ask if you can hold you tell them it's an emergency they ask you to if you can hold again then just put you on hold anyway. When you finally talk to them they say it will cost this much moneyfor everything. After you tell them that's fine they inform you they don't have time. March 18 · Good To Grow
