Petco Reviews
Just moved out to Napa recently and my dog loves the scenery. We both love this Petco! Only gone a few times, but there seems to always be someone around and the lady at the counter helping is great (Little really loves the cookie treats she gives) Some toys rang up regular price and i didn't notice at first, but it was the most pleasant refund filled with apologies that weren't necessary but appreciated.
Feb 27, 2025 · Chauncy piersonJust moved back to town and one of the best things I did was sign up for Vital Care Premier 3 years ago for multiple pets. After 4 months of going to this Petco, I have decided to cancel my vital care subscriptions.Employees are always doing something else at the register. In one occasion, one lady had the register full of items she was putting price tags for and proceeded to do that task during the transaction. I found myself having to wait for her to be done so I could leave. No one else was behind me in line, she couldn’t helped me and moved on with her task, but the time management and productivity skill was not in the room with us.In other occasions, the cashiers are having a conversation with each other and fully ignoring the line of customers. In addition, every time I want to redeem my rewards or perks, it’s always such a hassle to them and almost like I’m asking for too much. I know their system is slow but that is not my fault. Every single time I’ve been in they immediately go to charge me the full amount and I have to ask them if they could please apply my 20% off litter, cat food or dog food, and what I get is a loud sigh. I pay my subscription for a reason.Last but not least because I could go on about the dissatisfaction and disappointments I’ve experienced with this store, is how crammed the kitty’s are in the cages as well as the lack of security and care they receive. During one of my visits I found a terrified kitty under the cat tree shelves (I have a video of this). Another customer came to me holding another kitty and said there were many cats roaming around the store who knows for how long. Gratitude is free, but not even get a thank you for helping catch them, just a pissed off employee that had to fix it.Staff needs to be retrained and management has to set a better example.
Mar 12, 2025 · L PWe have been taking our dogs to Petco for years for grooming. Unfortunately, we will be finding a new place for them as one groomer at this location was very rude to us. We were *a few minutes* late due to some unforeseen construction and she wouldn't take our dog. Not only that, she chewed my wife out about it and chastised her for not calling ahead or being on time. She claimed that "everyone else went around the construction and made it on time." My wife had 2 dogs in the car and was supposed to find the phone number and call while driving because she didn't know about the construction? Ridiculous. I can somewhat understand not taking the dog but the rudeness is uncalled for and completely unprofessional. In a service industry you leave your personal problems at home.EDIT: her name is Cindy. Avoid if possible.
Feb 27, 2025 · EricI’d give less if I could - seeing those guinea pigs alone in tiny enclosures broke my heart. They are social beings that need space to graze and run about. The amount of mess they make, you’d probably need to clean that out every hour…. Hamsters looked a bit sorry and due a clean too. 🧼I think it’s the retailers’ prerogative to set a welfare standard and display them as they should be lovingly kept by their buyers.
Apr 08, 2025 · Kimberley FletcherThe staff does there best to be friendly (this score has nothing to do with them at all) but I really wouldn't recommend going here if you have an other option.First of all, It's very high priced. Most items you can get for half the price at Walmart, Target and especially Amazon. But there are some things you just can't get anywhere else locally and I assume that's why they stay open.Second, the staff definitely seem VERY busy all the time. And again, they're not rude, but maybe stressed.. since I'm only there to get live mice I know I'm in for an anxiety filled trip Every. Single. Time. It takes forever to find help, live mice isn't something you can just grab and be on your way. Once you do find help (usually by awkwardly having to peek into the staffs room or wait your turn in a check out line to ask a cashier to announce it) then they have to wrap up whatever project they were working on (hopefully they werent already helping someone else cause then its twice as long of a wait) and then they need to get the proper items to help. At this point I've already been here for at least 10 minutes, searching and waiting. The staff come over, and even the nicest friendliest ones always seem slightly annoyed that they had to stop to help, which makes me feel bad. The staff member has to enter your number in the "phone" (which is always slow), get a ladder, a box, write on it, and catch the mice.If you're lucky, you've been here for 15 minutes now but usually it's closer to 25 or more. Time to head to the check out station..Now there has been a few times over my 7 years of getting mice here that I've gotten lucky and theres only 1 or 2 other people in line but that's very unusual. It's usually 1 lane open with a ton of shoppers in line and no extra help in site. The check out process is slower than most other stores too, I'm not sure why but no matter what, expect to be there for a very, very long time.My point being, I love my pet but this store always reminds me while I'll never get a second. I'm grateful Petco is here cause I have no other option but man, if you're just in need of a new collar or some dog food.. I highly recommend ANYWHERE ELSE.
