★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been taking my cats to Banfield for several years, and my experiences with Dr. Rabito have always been positive. She’s kind, professional, and truly cares for animals, which is why I’ve trusted this clinic for so long. However, about three weeks ago, I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience when I had to see a different doctor due to scheduling.I paid extra for a nail trim, expecting safe and proper care. But as soon as my husband and my daughters got home and took my cat out of the carrier, I noticed that my cat’s paw was bleeding. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the nail had been trimmed way too short. The bleeding didn’t stop that night.Since the clinic was about to close, I went to Petco to purchase styptic powder and tried to stop the bleeding myself. The next morning, my husband had to step away from work during his shift to take our cat back to the clinic. What made things worse was how the staff responded. They made it feel like the situation was somehow our fault. When I came in to pick up our cat after work, no one offered an apology or expressed concern.I felt completely dismissed and disrespected as a pet parent. To make matters worse, my cat had received an injection during the visit.According to my husband and child, the shot was given without wrapping our cat in a blanket, and the cat was startled and moved during the injection, causing bleeding at the site. The area was bandaged before being sent home. That exact moment was actually captured in a video that my daughter happened to be filming at the time, and I was truly shocked when I saw what had happened. This visit took place about three weeks ago, and it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at Banfield.Dr. Rabito has always treated my cat with care and professionalism, and I’ve never had anything like this happen under her care. What’s especially frustrating is that I paid extra and still ended up with this kind of outcome.I sincerely hope no other pet or pet parent has to go through something like this.
April 19 · W KimStaff is incredibly helpful and genuinely cares about the animals. We found a stray dog and took him in to get treated and everyone was so kind and genuine. They are affordable and even offered us price matching for some of the meds to help us take care of this dog. So grateful to you guys!
June 13 · Kaylee EI love Dr. Rabito and all of the staff at the Olympia Banfield. They take such warm, loving care of my cats and I always feel at ease and like they have my back. They have been so helpful with all kinds of issues, and I'm SO happy that there are cat only days! Additionally they're always really honest and up front about costs and helping me figure out what to prioritize. A great team and they're never allowed to leave or retire because I love them too much!
June 27 · Zoey Hogan (Cap O' Rushes)They caused a slow and painful death for my dog.I'd had my dog to 2 different Banfield Pet Hospitals 3 times in just over a month, with worsening symptoms of constipation. Two weeks after my visit to Olympia Banfield, a fatal tumor that had completely blocked her colon was discovered by another vet during an exam that took under 2 minutes. She was in severe pain and I had to euthanize her that day.At Banfield's recommendation, I'd been pumping her full of laxatives and fiber, making her condition worse and causing her additional pain. There is absolutely no way that if a proper exam was conducted, this tumor could have been missed. She'd had worsening symptoms for over a month and had been to Banfield 3 times.I was forced to do the drop off service for my dog at Banfield, so you have to take their word that they do the exams they say they do. They tried to tell me that there was no tumor when I brought her there, which is impossible. Her symptoms were not some weird coincidence.Do NOT bring your pet here, and if you are forced to, demand to stay with them. The drop off service is a scam, they keep your pet the entire day and you have to beg for records and to discuss them with the vet. I had to call twice over the 3 days following her visit to ask what the x-rays showed. Her tumor was fatal, so I do not blame Banfield for her death. However, if they'd done the proper exams I could have planned a peaceful euthanasia at home and saved my dog from unnecessary pain and suffering.
July 16 · C FThe Banfield hospital on the West side of Olympia has the best staff!! I found Banfield hospital in September 2024 when my dog (if 13 years) became sick and eventually crossed to the other side, and staff was the kindest, most patient, understanding people I e ver met. They helped me through one of the hardest times of my life, and to say I was a hot mess is an understatement. After my dog was gone I adopted another dog and switched my vet services. Now they deal with my super manic, crazy puppy and deal with him well! I love the staff!!
