Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
I scheduled an appointment online for 06/29 at 1:00 PM. Banfield called me and left a voicemail confirming the appointment for 1:00 PM on 06/27, which I then confirmed over text as requested. I even showed proof of the text confirming the 1:00 PM time. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk staff told me they were expecting me at 2:00 PM because the vet was on lunch until then. This was shocking, as I had clearly confirmed the 1:00 PM appointment time. They told me they don’t see patients at 1:00 PM due to their lunch break, which I understand and respect, but no one ever called to notify me of any time change. I planned my entire day around this confirmed 1:00 PM appointment.Banfield needs to respect their clients’ time. Clear communication and proper appointment management are essential, and I was disappointed in how this was handled.
Jun 30, 2025 · Cecilia LemusDON’T COME HERE - Terrible Experience Not Recommended at All!I came to this vet because my cat was sneezing, but the experience was shocking. I arrived, the front desk lady insisted that I pay $1,000 just for the doctor to see my cat. I explained that I’ve been a breeder and a client for 10 years and have never encountered such high prices at any vet. However, she claimed my cat needed multiple tests including blood work, a stool test, an eye test, and two types of X-rays !! before even letting the doctor see him. It felt like they were adding unnecessary tests just to overcharge me.I have been a breeder for 10 years and have visited many vets. I know that the doctor must first see and examine the cat before discussing with the client what tests are necessary not the front desk staff! Does a sneezing cat really need five tests? Do they think I’m stupid? When I was ready to check out, I asked if I could get a prescription for the medication so I could order it from Chewy in liquid form. My cat is very picky and doesn’t take pills well. The front desk lady responded aggressively, saying, “If you don’t pay for the medicine today, we won’t give it to you later!” I was confused and told her that didn’t make sense. Instead of having a reasonable discussion, she started yelling at me and repeatedly accused me of being rude in a loud and unprofessional manner and she keep talking at my face and kept telling me YOU ARE RUDE in a loud tone!!!!I have never seen a customer service representative yell at a client and accuse them of being rude. Are we acting in a movie here??This is no way to treat customers. It felt like they were trying to force unnecessary treatments and then strong-arm me into buying medication from them. The front desk lady was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. BE CAREFUL, you will be insulted if you come here.
Feb 07, 2025 · nada badwanUpdate: I received a text notification that I had an upcoming appointment on the 19th for my cat to get neutered. I had explained to the doctor that I would not be able to within 2 weeks (of the original appointment date) as I would be in Europe. I had never scheduled a second appointment here and my review below explains why I would not go back, they took it upon themselves to schedule an appointment without my knowledge or consent as well as during the original appointment, no one stated to me directly that I had a follow up appointment. My statement still stands, do not visit here as they are not transparent, customer service is lacking heavily, they do not have an ounce of care for your pet, and they will make excuses and lies about your pet being “aggressive”________________________________________This is my first experience at the Banfield in Eastern Marketplace and if I could, I would give it 0 stars. I had originally went to the Banfield in Metrotech (which I had a great experience with the service and staff) and I wish I could say the same for this location. I had booked an appointment for my kitten to have his shots updated for 5:00pm. My wife and I arrived at the location at 4:54pm and was quickly checked in. After the check in we had waited for about an hour and was finally reached out to 10 minutes prior to closing. Once spoken to by the vet/doctor, everything was just rushed. The vet tech was fine, she explained everything well, though she kept stumbling on her own words, but when the doctor came in to speak with us she spoke in a condescending tone explaining that one of her associates was scratched due to my kitten being aggressive when they drew blood. When at the Metrotech location they had no issue with my kitten being aggressive when they drew blood (the associates at the Metrotech location loved our kitten and were taking photos/videos of him being affectionate.) Other than that interaction with the doctor, everything else that was explained to us was just a jumble of non-sense. They kept adding and taking away different procedures which made no sense to suggesting if they were not going to complete them originally. When we finally got home and let our kitten out of his carrier, we noticed a huge stain of blood over his leg and his legged looked mangled once the bandages were removed. Lastly, I booked for an in room visit, but we were not able to be in the room during the shots??? Inconsistent, inconsiderate, rushed, and just full of excuses. If you care for you furry family member, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT take them to this banfield.
Aug 16, 2024 · Sean ObilloOur dog Lula had ate some toys and got really sick we called multiple vets and no one could take us in but this place did and evacuated lula and realized she needed immediate surgery. Thanks to banfield we were able to do the surgery and lula got the care she needed. Everyone was so nice and helpful and explained everything really well. Lula now is back to being happy and healthy. We are so grateful to everyone that helped us :)
May 02, 2025 · Angellygt ChicasgtDO NOT COME HERE!!! I typically don’t have time to write a review but this place deserves a negative rating!! The doctors are extremely inexperienced and terrible!! They don’t really care about your pet, they just want to sell you the wellness plan so you stay with them for those services.I took my dog in for suspect urine infection, the doctor gave her a very aggressive strong antibiotic medication (this I learned after I took my dog to another vet). They told us to put her on prescribed food (without slowly transition). Then 5 days later, my dog started to have diarrhea and progressed to pooping blood. I called the vet back, they gave minimal instruction and said I had to take her in for another examination (which it was bs). Long story short, I took my dog to another vet because I just don’t trust them anymore. They told me the medication was very strong and for my dog who has sensitive it wasn’t a good idea, on top of sudden food change, her stomach was all messed up. They gave her a milder antibiotics and told me to give her bland food + plus probiotics. A few days later, she is all better! The best part was the vet from banfield called me and left a message after 1 week I initially called and asked to talk to the doctor, and the only thing he said was to bring her in for further examination to prescribe the proper medication. One week later???? Seriously??? Not even asking how she’s doing first? If you care about your pet, avoid taking them here.
