Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
In the vibrant communities of the City of Industry and Walnut, California, pet owners seek dependable and comprehensive veterinary care to ensure the health and happiness of their animal companions. Banfield Pet Hospital is a prominent option, offering a wide array of veterinary services in a convenient and accessible setting. As a large national network of pet hospitals, Banfield provides a structured approach to pet healthcare, with a strong emphasis on preventive medicine. The hospital's philosophy is centered on the idea that proactive care is the best way to keep pets healthy and to prevent future, more serious health issues. The team, which includes veterinarians and support staff, works to provide professional and compassionate care for a wide variety of pets, including dogs and cats. While a client review notes that staff can be understaffed at times, they also praise the "kind and absolutely lovely" nature of the team and their professionalism. This suggests that despite potential logistical challenges, the hospital remains committed to a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Banfield also operates with a goal of making pet healthcare more accessible and affordable, a key component of their business model.
Banfield Pet Hospital is conveniently located at 21848 Valley Blvd, City of Industry, CA 91789, USA. This particular location is inside a PetSmart store, a common model for Banfield that offers significant convenience for pet owners who can combine a vet visit with their pet supply shopping. The hospital is committed to accessibility, featuring a wheelchair-accessible parking lot to make it easier for all clients to visit. It is noted as being LGBTQ+ friendly, which contributes to a welcoming environment for a diverse clientele. The hospital operates on an appointment-required or appointment-recommended basis, which helps to manage patient flow and ensure that each pet receives timely attention. They offer flexible ways to get care, including in-room appointments where clients can be present for the visit, as well as drop-off services for busy pet owners. Drop-off services allow you to leave your pet for an extended visit while you go about your day, and the hospital will contact you when your pet is ready for pickup. These various options for scheduling and convenience are designed to make pet healthcare fit into the busy lives of California residents.
Banfield Pet Hospital offers a comprehensive list of veterinary services, catering to a wide range of pet health needs, from routine wellness to more advanced medical procedures. Their services are designed to be a one-stop solution for general pet health. The services offered include:
- Preventive Health Services: This is a cornerstone of their practice, including comprehensive exams, vaccinations, and parasite control.
- Diagnostic Testing and Imaging: The hospital is equipped with laboratory diagnostics, digital radiography, and ultrasonography to aid in the diagnosis of illnesses and injuries.
- General Surgery: They perform common surgical procedures, including spays and neuters, and other general surgeries.
- Dental Care: Services range from general dentistry and cleanings to diagnostic procedures using digital radiography.
- Behavior and Nutrition: Provides advice on pet behavior management and nutritional counseling to help owners support their pet's overall well-being.
- Additional Services: Includes microchipping for pet identification, medical grooming for pets with special needs, and end-of-life care. They also offer a pharmacy for pet prescriptions.
A key feature of Banfield Pet Hospital is its emphasis on preventive care, which is packaged into their "Optimum Wellness Plans®." These plans are a major highlight, offering affordable, bundled services that include unlimited office visits, routine exams, and vaccinations for an annual fee. This model is a significant benefit for pet owners who want to budget for their pet's ongoing health needs without a lot of unexpected costs. Reviews reflect that clients are "happy" with the "kind and absolutely lovely" staff and the "amazing job" done by the nurses, doctors, and staff. This demonstrates that, despite being part of a larger chain, the individual staff members can provide a high level of compassionate care. The hospital's affiliation with PetSmart adds a layer of convenience, allowing pet owners to access veterinary care while also purchasing food and supplies. Another notable feature is the availability of virtual care options, such as "Virtual Visits" and "24/7 Pet Chat™" for clients enrolled in a wellness plan. These services allow pet owners to get professional advice from the comfort of their home, which is a modern and convenient solution for minor health questions. The hospital is also an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certified, an important accreditation that signifies a commitment to high standards of veterinary medicine. However, one review does point to a significant issue: a long wait time for an appointment, even with a scheduled time, which suggests that the hospital may be understaffed at times. This is an important consideration for pet owners who are on a tight schedule. Overall, the features of convenience, comprehensive care, and bundled plans are major selling points for this hospital.
To contact Banfield Pet Hospital in the City of Industry, you can call their phone number at (909) 594-8293. The mobile phone number is +1 909-594-8293. The hospital is located at 21848 Valley Blvd, City of Industry, CA 91789, USA, inside a PetSmart store. The hospital is designed with a wheelchair-accessible parking lot for client convenience.
When choosing a veterinary provider in California, pet owners often weigh the benefits of a large corporate practice against those of a local, independent clinic. Banfield Pet Hospital is worth choosing for several reasons, primarily for its convenient, structured, and comprehensive approach to pet healthcare. The Optimum Wellness Plans® are a standout feature, providing an excellent way for pet owners to budget for and stay on top of their pet's preventative care needs without having to worry about unexpected costs for routine services. The hospital’s location inside PetSmart is a major convenience, streamlining the process of caring for your pet. The staff's kindness and the level of care, as noted in client reviews, demonstrate that even within a corporate structure, a compassionate and personal touch is a priority. However, it is also important to consider the potential drawbacks. The single review about long wait times suggests that the hospital can be understaffed, which can be a significant negative for a client with a sick pet or a tight schedule. For pet owners who value a consistent, long-term relationship with a single veterinarian and who prefer a more personalized approach, a corporate hospital might not be the best fit. However, for those who appreciate the benefits of a large network, including easy access to medical records, the ability to visit different locations, and the financial predictability of wellness plans, Banfield Pet Hospital in City of Industry is an excellent and reliable choice. It provides a foundational level of care and is a great option for pet owners who prioritize convenience and proactive wellness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can’t express how happy I have been with the service we have received. The staff are all so kind and absolutely lovely with my dog.
August 27 · Tiffany HernandezWe've been taking our dog and 2 cats here for many years and all the nurses, doctors, and staff do an AMAZING job. But lately they've been severely understaffed. For example, on 8/31/24, we waiting over an hour to check in our pet for her appointment. Shout-out to Dio and Monica especially who did an amazing job to help us out throughout the day, despite needing to scramble, but everyone at this location needs more help to continue doing their great work.
September 01 · JonathanI have been a client at Banfield Hospital for over three years, but the last two years have been incredibly frustrating. The constant turnover of staff means there's never a consistent doctor to build trust with. Recently, I did a urinary test for my pet and waited two weeks without any feedback. I called three times about the report. The first two times, I was told it wasn't ready, and when I called again, I was informed that there wasn’t even a doctor available to review it.This hospital has the worst patient management I’ve ever experienced. The level of disorganization is unacceptable, especially when it comes to the health of my pet. After such a long delay, I can't help but wonder if the report is even still usable. The entire experience has been a waste of my money, time, and patience. The lack of communication and care has made me lose all confidence in this hospital. I will definitely be looking for a more reliable place for my pet's healthcare.
August 12 · S W"I had a bad experience at the Banfield hospital today. I checked into the appointment early, spent 20 minutes at the counter with the nurse trying to fill in information that could have been done more easily through email. She did not even know my dog's breed but tried to suggest dog food to me. Then she went on to talk about how a grain-free diet is related to enlarged hearts and advocated for the brand Science Hill. When I questioned the validity of her claim and suggested that a confounding variable (legume) might be responsible for the enlarged heart, she dismissed the statement. She later educated me about influenza, which I am well aware of. When I asked for a solution, she initially said there is none, but then contradicted herself by mentioning an influenza vaccine. I agreed to the vaccine and later found out there are boosters, meaning more money and visits than what I initially signed up for. In this incident, she withheld information I needed to know. After they took my dog, Bambi, they said they would call me when it was done. I waited for more than an hour and 35 minutes with no call. I went back to check, and she admitted they were done long ago and were just keeping my dog there to watch. I can watch and monitor the dog; I didn't pay you to play with my dog. When checking out the dog, she did not give me any feedback from the doctor. I had to call in and speak to three different people, be placed on hold for 15 minutes before I could speak to a doctor (not even the one who saw my pet) about the information I requested. Overall, I felt like the place is unprofessional and inefficient because of my experience with this nurse. She did not know how to read the room or do her job as a professional.
December 05 · Eileen MaClean, friendly. They took really good care of my puppies with their vaccines.🐕🐕❤
