Choosing a veterinary clinic is a deeply personal decision, and Briarcrest Veterinary Clinic presents a compelling case for being a top choice. While the overwhelming majority of experiences are positive, as with any service, a few negative interactions can occur. The provided reviews showcase this dichotomy. One customer's glowing recommendation highlights the exceptional compassion and knowledge of Dr. White, particularly with an unusual pet, a tortoise. This review speaks to the clinic's specialized expertise and its ability to make clients feel comfortable and well-informed. However, another review describes a negative experience with a receptionist and a staff member regarding a pet carrier and a drop-off charge. This situation, while disappointing for the client, highlights the importance of clear communication and can be a reminder that a clinic’s culture and staff can evolve.
Despite the mixed feedback on staff demeanor, the core veterinary care provided, particularly by Dr. White, seems to be of a high standard. For Houston residents, Briarcrest Veterinary Clinic is a worthwhile choice because it offers a very broad range of services, from preventative care to complex diagnostics and surgery, all in one place. Its expertise with exotic pets is a huge advantage for owners who may have trouble finding specialized care elsewhere. The clinic’s dedication to accessibility and its convenient location also make it a practical option. When making a decision, pet owners should consider the depth of services offered and the positive feedback on the main veterinarians. It provides a reliable and extensive resource for the entire Houston community, ensuring that all pets, from dogs to tortoises, can receive the professional care they need to thrive.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I just had one of the best experiences of my life at Briarcrest veterinary clinic. From the moment I walked in the staff was very welcoming and kind, and Dr. White is probably the nicest man I’ve ever met in my life. I just adopted a sulcata tortoise and I really don’t know much about them. Dr. White sat with me understanding my concerns and made me feel very comfortable. He was very informative. Very patient with me and gave me a lot of information on how to care for my new friend. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. And I’m very happy to say my Little Rock puppy is healthy!!!
March 12 · Sean WindsorI’ve been coming here for years to bring my bearded dragon. Today, I decided to drop her off. I arrived early, and the receptionist at the front who seemed to be having a rough morning already had a bit of an attitude. She pointed out that I didn’t bring my dragon in a carrier. That was my mistake, but it had never been an issue before. Then she told me there would be a day charge, which I hadn’t been charged for in the past. I said that was fine. Shortly after, an ogre man came out and handled my dragon a bit roughly. He also started giving me attitude about not having a carrier. I stayed calm and acknowledged my mistake, but he kept going on about it. I eventually said, “If this is going to be a problem, I’ll just take my dragon back.”As he walked away, he continued talking about the carrier issue. I told him that I wanted my dragon back. I just didn’t feel comfortable leaving her there. She’s very sick, and I want her to be handled with care. He then asked if I was sure I wanted to take her back, like of course I do. She’s my dragon. It’s really disappointing. I used to love and trust this place. But the new staff who are frankly grumpy and unwelcoming have completely changed the experience. It’s a shame, especially since it’s so close to home.
August 29 · Sofia NietoDr. White is a very good Doctor and his team are all very professional. Me and my family has been comparing here for years and dogs we had and passed. I had to put down a few my dogs here, and the staff are very sympathy. The cost is fair here and I know Dr. White may retire soon. I also feel like the customers come here are very well behave on making sure their pets are not bother anybody.
April 19 · Mark WangEvery experience in this clinic is as nice as can be. I go there with my dogs for last 28 years. Dr White and his staff is always very nice and knowledgeable ready to help you with your problems. Thank you Dr White for taking care of my babies for all this time. 🌹❤
March 01 · Bogumila GarlejDr Larry white is a cut above the rest. His kindness, love for the animals, old school approach to care and time spent with the people is unmatched by anyone. He takes as much time with you as you need, gives detailed and expert advice and is extremely gentle and compassionate for all the animals. He has a loving heart and should be recognized as the best vet in Houston or anywhere. He's one of God's angels. His staff is great too.
