The strategic location and robust accessibility of a veterinary hospital, particularly one specializing in emergency and critical care, are of utmost importance for pet owners in Massachusetts. Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists (CCVS) is ideally positioned to serve a wide geographical area, making it a critical resource for advanced and urgent pet healthcare needs.
Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is located at 11 Bourne Bridge Approach, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532, USA. This address is highly significant due to its proximity to the Bourne Bridge, a major gateway to Cape Cod. For residents on the Cape, the Islands (via ferry connections), and those in Southeastern Massachusetts, this location offers relatively straightforward access, minimizing travel time during potentially stressful emergency situations. The ease of reaching a dedicated emergency and specialty facility is a huge relief for pet owners when every minute counts.
Beyond its physical address, CCVS emphasizes accessibility through its operational model. They are a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, meaning they are available around the clock, every day of the year, including holidays. This constant availability is a standout feature for local residents, as it provides a reliable option for urgent care when primary veterinary clinics may be closed. The "Emergency and Critical Care" department operates much like a human emergency room, triaging patients based on the severity of their condition to ensure the most critical cases are attended to first.
Furthermore, their commitment to accessibility extends to specific animal types. As of January 2, 2025, CCVS is expanding its emergency services to include small mammals, a crucial development for owners of bunnies, guinea pigs, and other exotic pets in the region. This expansion, along with the availability of specialists like Dr. Kyra Berg (DVM, DACZM) for on-call advice, further solidifies CCVS's role as an accessible and comprehensive resource for the diverse pet population of Massachusetts. The presence of two distinct entrances (one for emergency/specialty and one for general practice within the same building, as per architectural descriptions) also helps guide clients to their intended destination efficiently, enhancing the overall user experience.

Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists Reviews
Just went to get my bunny checked out before his surgery. Dr. Berg was exceptional. She was giving me valuable information and the team really cared about my buns. Will def be coming back for years
Jun 27, 2025 · Hehvin Barnetti have never written a review before but i felt it was necessary. i honestly cannot say enough great things about this emergency vet, i seriously wish they had a primary vet office here. over the last five months i had to make 5 visits (one overnight) with my 2 y/o cat for blockages/urinary crystals, and 1 with my 6 y/o with a pretend stomach ache. the first time my cat blocked i had taken him to a different emergency vet closer to my house, which was definitely more in my budget at the time, but led to a lot of unanswered questions, no follow up, and no communication with me or my primary vet. Although costly, which is understandable being a 24/7 er vet, i would without a doubt pay the extra money and drive the extra distance every single time to bring my pets to CCVS. I was nervous at first because there are so many different vets there (pros and cons for multiple visits) and was worried that going in there a second, third, fourth, and fifth time, i would be getting different experiences each time and communication would be difficult. i was very wrong. each of the many different vets and other staff that saw my child were profession, kind hearted, informative, and i left feeling more at ease and that he was in great hands. His last visit was three months ago and occasionally i still have a question, or worry and ill call and i am still treated with utmost kindness and they have never hesitated to assist me.i really cannot express my gratitude to this emergency veterinary office and the outstanding service to both me and my kitty. Grim likely wouldn’t be here without them and their dedication to our babies.
Jun 05, 2025 · Alyssa GoyetteI have a very anxious cat who has had to go here 3 times in an emergency with breathing. Every single employee here is extremely compassionate and caring. They have always taken her right away and are so helpful. They always answer the phone and help with any follow up questions. Seriously the best employees I’ve ever encountered at a vet. Never a good time to go in an emergency but the staff are truly the sweetest and I never write reviews but I just had a bad experience with my personal vet and my cat has never had any issues with them and I know it’s because they are so sweet to her. Maple loves CCVS
Mar 05, 2025 · Becca McGuireThey saved my cat’s life. I was panicking after I came home to her throwing up. She was leaning against the wall because she couldn’t hold herself up and she lost complete use of her legs. They told me I could euthanize her if I wasn’t down for giving my cat a bath every time she evacuated her bladder/bowels (because I couldn’t even hold her on the litter box.)I’m not an animal person but I’ve had this cat for 17 years. The people at this vet are animal people. They said may have had a stroke. They prescribed her gabapentin for her pain and prednisone for her legs. She can go all the way up and down the stairs again. She can use the litter box by herself. She’s as healthy as before the incident.I owe these people my cat. I owe Doctor Sarah McManis. She was really nice. She didn’t make me feel bad about not euthanizing her. She saved my cat. She’s my lo-fi cat.
Jun 07, 2025 · AmarieSecond time here and they are great. Both times were to X-ray my German shepherd’s hips. Dr. Ulfelder was very nice, explained everything in layman’s terms and followed up with us as well.
