Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre is a highly regarded veterinary practice that has earned a reputation for its professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic team. Led by Dr. Hodge, the clinic operates on a philosophy that prioritizes the individual needs of each animal, focusing on long-term health and happiness. Their approach is not just about treating illnesses as they arise but about proactive, preventative care to ensure your pet stays vibrant and healthy for as long as possible. The team at the centre understands that every pet is unique, and they take the time to get to know your animal's personality, medical history, and specific needs. This personalized attention creates a comfortable and trusting environment, which is beneficial for both the pet and the owner. The clinic fosters a welcoming atmosphere that is both friendly and professional. They believe in clear communication, ensuring that pet owners are fully informed about their pet's health status, treatment options, and care plans. This collaborative approach empowers you to make the best decisions for your pet's well-being. The positive sentiment from other pet parents is palpable, creating a community of caring individuals who share a common goal: to provide the best for their animal companions. This supportive environment makes every visit a truly positive experience from start to finish, as noted by one happy customer who was "overjoyed" to find Dr. Hodge and his team.
The stellar feedback from the community is a testament to the centre's dedication. One pet owner, who wanted to switch care for their 7-year-old Golden Retriever, Murdock, to a more patient-centered practice, was thrilled to find Cross Creek Animal Medical Centre. They praised Dr. Hodge and his team, stating that "every person was beyond knowledgeable and professional" and that they left "knowing they have our pup’s best interests in mind." They also noted the friendly nature of the other pet parents, which contributed to the positive atmosphere. Another customer had an "amazing experience" and highlighted how "charismatic and empathetic" the staff is toward both pets and owners. This particular review also mentioned that the staff loves interacting with their 3-year-old son, who enjoys helping them care for the family pets. This detail speaks volumes about the welcoming and family-friendly environment the clinic has cultivated. The team's ability to engage with and welcome every member of the family, including the youngest ones, is a significant highlight. It shows that they not only care for animals but also understand the important role pets play within the family unit. These experiences demonstrate that the centre's focus on compassionate, individualized care is not just a mission statement but a practice they live out every day. The genuine kindness and professionalism of the staff make every visit a pleasant one, fostering a sense of trust and security that is invaluable when it comes to your pet's health.

Your pet may feel a gentle and soothing warmth. Most treatments take a matter of minutes. Laser energy induces a biological response in the cells called “photo-bio-modulation”, which leads to reduce pain, reduced inflammation, and increased healing speed.

Most pet owners can schedule a pet dental checkup and cleaning alongside their pet’s annual examination by our veterinarian.

- Pet Vaccinations
Our Tampa veterinarian recommends all pets receive the core vaccination series. For dogs, the canine core vaccination series is a combined shot known as DHPP. This dog vaccination shot protects against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvovirus. For cats, the combined feline vaccination shot is known as FVRCP. This cat vaccination shot protects against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia (feline distemper). Florida state law requires all dogs and cats age four months or older be vaccinated against rabies. The rabies vaccination is given again one year later, and then every three years, depending on the vaccine manufacturer’s guidelines. Pet vaccinations are critical to protecting your pets against contagious diseases. Since these illnesses typically do not cause symptoms until several days after infections, it is possible that your pet could interact with a seemingly healthy pet at the dog park, grooming salon or pet kennel and contract a disease.
- Pet Wellness
Preventive care starts with an annual pet wellness care exam. During this exam, Dr. Hodge conducts a full physical on your pet as well as diagnostic tests.
- Pet's Treatment
- Physical Exams
A thorough and complete physical exam is the most important reason to seek veterinary care. A physical exam from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail is necessary to determine the overall health of a pet and is especially necessary where there are any health concerns. This includes examination of the nose, teeth, mouth, ears, neck, heart, lungs, abdomen, limbs and joints, spine, tail anus and reproductive organs, fur, skin, etc.
- Pocket Pets
- Prescription Diets
There are many different types of food available for your pet, and each has its own benefits. You should ask your vet which particular food is best for your pet. The food your pet eats depends on their age, size, breed as well as other factors. If your pet has a health condition such as kidney disease, heart disease, cancer, stomach ailments, or obesity there are prescription diets available to help them combat their ailment. Your vet has extensive knowledge on this subject and can prescribe the best food for your pet.
- Prevention Lab
- Pulse Oximeter
If your pet has an issue with breathing or if they happen to be undergoing surgery with a general anesthetic, a pulse oximeter is a great option for monitoring their heart rate and blood oxygen levels.
- Puppy And Kitten
- Rabies Vaccinations
- Radiology/Ultrasound
X-rays (radiographs) are performed on a daily basis and are an integral part of the diagnosis process. We are able to perform routine x-rays of dogs and cats as well as avian and exotics. Contrast studies of the urinary and intestinal tract are performed as needed. We have a Digital Radiology Machine. This means less radiation exposure for the pet and our medical team. Digital Radiographs allow for much higher detail and contrast that with non-digital equipment. This allows for better diagnostics. We utilize a Telemedicine Radiology Consultation Service so that all of our images are reviewed by Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist, a specialist in reading X-ray images.Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to look at the body structures (heart, organs, eyes, joints, etc). This is a non-invasive means of looking at the function of an body structure as well as architecture. We also provide specialty service ultrasounds.

We are overjoyed to have found Dr. Hodge and his team! Every person was beyond knowledgeable and professional and we left knowing they have our pup’s best interests in mind. February 02 · Nicole ShiberWhat an amazing experience!! All of the staff here are very charismatic and empathetic towards pets and owners. I take my 3 year old son with me just because the staff loves him so much and he has a blast helping them take care of our pets. Thank you to everyone working at this location! You guys are wonderful.
June 20 · Cody HicksDr. Alexa was so kind, patient, and Very informative with our first puppy visit. I felt at ease and less anxious about asking all “puppy” questions and concerns I had. From the beginning The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We also have our 4 year old Australian shepherd that comes here, today was my first visit actually going inside the building. I loved the experience. With my Aussie we always waited in the car.
December 12 · Michelle ODr. Hodge and his staff were amazing. They were very kind and friendly from the very beginning. They were very loving and helpful with my kitten copper. I would highly recommend to anybody very good experience overall.
June 16 · Santino LopezThis team of professionals are the best, very responsive, knowledgeable and supportive whenever I have questions or any concern. They are always there to educate and offer options for the best care of my baby dog!We got a new pekingese puppy, Trooper, in June. My neighbor recommended Cross Creek Animal Medical Center who has taken care of her baby dog, Teddy, all of his life, and he just turned 18 years old! Dr. Hodge, Enico, Paula, and the whole team at Cross Creek have been great to work with. They take such thoughtful and responsive care of Trooper, to get him fully vaccinated as soon as I brought him home, and off to a healthy start. Dr. Hodge later took care of "the surgery" when he was ready and all went very well. Trooper is a happy, healthy, and active 8-month-old baby dog now, and I always know I can count on Dr. Hodge and his team to keep him that way....and yes, Trooper will always be "my baby"! Thank you and Happy New Year to the Cross Creek Animal Medical Team!
