This article will provide a clear and engaging overview of what makes Essington Road Animal Hospital a valuable resource for local pet owners, highlighting its dedication to compassionate care, comprehensive services, and a commitment to providing quality, professional service.
The history of Essington Road Animal Hospital is rooted in a passion for animal care, started by Dr. Mamdouh H. Abou-Youssef and now led by his son, Dr. Adam M. Abou-Youssef. This family legacy of excellence and community devotion is a testament to their long-standing presence and trusted reputation in the area. They operate with the belief that pets are members of the family and strive to deliver the highest quality veterinary care. Their team is known for providing personalized and compassionate service, making it a point to get to know both the pet and the pet parents on a personal level.
Client testimonials provide a powerful glimpse into the hospital's approach to care. One customer's experience during the difficult decision to put their dog to sleep highlights the empathy and understanding of the staff. The vet's honesty in not pushing for costly, futile treatments, and their focus on the pet's comfort until its last breath, speaks volumes about their ethical and caring practice. This experience contrasts sharply with the negative financial-based review, which highlights the painful reality that while a hospital may provide exceptional care, veterinary treatment for serious or unforeseen issues can be expensive. However, the positive testimonial reinforces that, for many, the quality of care, empathy, and honesty provided by the staff makes them a truly valuable and trustworthy choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1the worst ever, this hospital needs more honesty we left our cat there for a weak for treatment and the following weak she needed surgery for something she swallowed at this hospital. They want us to pay for it over 1 thousand dollars for young cat owners they took away our beloved cat hazelI don’t recommend people to go here when your not in a good financial position because me and my girlfriend where able to pay everything until work problems started occurring.THEN boom 1700 bill we have to pay should be reported or closed down that’s not how you do business.y yes it’s our responsibility to pay for her but they like making people pay more money then what’s neededwe found her on the street and took care of her ever since.she’s been apart of me and my girlfriends life and it sucks that one simple payment 1,700 is what tares it apart.hopefully they get a better veterinarian doctor there and fire the one that’s in there now straight upTHERES PICTURES of the items that where left her bed,cat bowls, food, callershe left cat friends also all the other animals in our home are flee free they get cleaned every day for flees and our dogs dont have any fleesI clean this house up and down mostly every daySo there should be no flees.thanks and goodbye hopefully she gets a happy home this hospital took her from a happy home already.LOVE YOU HAZEL
April 09 · Jorge RobledoWe were faced with the really hard decision to put our dog of 12 years to sleep yesterday. We don’t have a vet in the area and called a bunch of places for pricing. It’s been a long time since I put a dog to sleep, but I can’t believe how much the prices have gone up. I found this place and it was the cheapest and they could get us in right away so went. The doctor at first was Optimistic about her tumors and offered to examine her before we made the decision. He did, but once he got a look at her, he reassured me it was the right thing to do instead of trying to convince me of treatments that would probably cost hundreds of dollars and in reality only give her a couple more months to live. And believe me I was so vulnerable and heartbroken at that moment I probably would have wanted to move forward and trying to save her. The doctor was so empathetic, caring and understanding, and also made sure that my girl was comfortable until her last breath. The only thing he charged us for was to put her to sleep and her cremation. Other vets in the area on the phone said they would charge us $80 for an examination he didn’t do that. I honestly felt that he had my dogs best interest in mind, had excellent bedside manner and was affordable for the average person. I’ll be back there with my other dogs for routine appointments (hopefully not going through Putting one of them to sleep anytime soon, I don’t know if my heart can take it)
January 14 · Sara HallDr. Adam is the best. We had an emergency and he was able to squeeze us in real quick to ensure everything was okay with my Spade. I know they're busy and we wholeheartedly appreciate him and his team.
July 19 · JesseI am a stray cat feeder and foster parent along with my fiance. Our first stray that was the one who started our feeding journey, Dream was very very sick. We have been feeding him and letting him stay the night whenever he wanted to for over 3 years but this last year, we watched him get weaker and weaker. This last month he was so skinny. All bones. His eyes were glazed and he kept peeing all over the place and was very weak. We don't have much money at all and have 3 cats inside already. Well, our friend Kim had a friend from a rescue bless us with an appointment at this vet here. We live about 35 mins away and dropped off Dream expecting the worst. They kept him for over a week and a half. Dr. Adam did NOT want to give up on our stray! God is so good because we prayed and prayed for assistance and for Dream to have peace and his pain taken away and lo and behold, he was diagnosed and treated and he came back a BRAND NEW CAT! I wish I could post videos on here because he has this spark of life in him that I haven't seen in 2 years! And he is neutered now too! He is vocal and loving and wanting to play again. It's literally like he came back from the dead. Thank you Dr. Adam for not giving up on this stray even when we as owners were discouraged. This vet wants the best for your pet! I will try to post a picture for comparisons because this vet and these people/angels brought our cat to life again. Thank you a million times! 😺🙏🏻❤️
July 21 · Lynne MadisonCalled at 10am to make appointment and someone picked up the phone and hung it up then sent me to voicemail when I called back haha what a joke of a clinic& the even BIGGER joke is that they can’t afford a secretary to strictly answer calls. Or an answering machine for that matter. If the owner is as busy as they presume to be then how bout spending some of that money on a new secretary or better yet get the lazy as owner to answer the phones since they like being on it so much replying to comments. Clowns.
