What is Worth Choosing
For pet owners in Oregon, Guardian Veterinary Care is an excellent choice for a variety of reasons, most notably its unique blend of specialized expertise and compassionate, personalized care. The clinic’s commitment to "Fear Free" services and its proactive, educational approach to client relations set it apart from a typical practice. The staff’s ability to build genuine relationships with both pets and their owners is a major selling point, as evidenced by reviews praising their attentiveness and memory for pets' names.
While a very serious and tragic review highlights the risks inherent in any medical procedure, it also underscores the importance of a transparent and communicative approach to patient care, and the need for clients to be proactive in making informed decisions. For a clinic that offers such a wide range of services, including oncology and care for exotic pets, the standard of care is a critical consideration. The clinic's dedication to ongoing client support, even following visits to other emergency clinics, speaks to a deep level of care that extends beyond the clinic doors. For pet owners in the Sherwood area seeking a veterinary partner that is both highly capable and genuinely caring, Guardian Veterinary Care is a strong and noteworthy choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We've been going to Guardian Vet for a few years now, and they have been nothing short of amazing. Everyone who works there is so sweet, somehow remember our pups name on sight, and understand their weird idiosyncrasies.Specific things that we love:- We wanted to reduce our pups weight as they were getting a little chonky, and Guardian provided great suggestions and resources to help us get them to their target weight. They provided concrete, actionable things we could do, gave us a specific calorie target based on the specific food that we feed them, their age/activity level, and their target weight (both our pups have made great progress!)- Whenever we go to the Emergency vet, Guardian always follows up with a call after to check in on them to see if they need any additional follow up visits- Even though I know they've gotten much busier, they always make us feel like our pups are a priority when we're there- The entire office is super friendly even when it's a madhouse in there.- They never dismiss any concerns or questions, they always ensure they've answered every question, and encourage email/text if there's any follow up questions, or just to update them on how things are going. We highly recommend Guardian Vet!
May 08 · Kim ThaiWhen we first went to Guardian it seemed like a top quality office. When we took in our dog that hates to go to the Vet they said they could handle her during her dental. When we picked her up they had the muzzle stuck on her half on and half off. They were more concerned that they got it back than the trauma our dog was in. We took her home and eventually got it off. That should have been a warning not to go back. When she needed a growth removed just below her tail they basically admitted they gave her too much anesthesia and she died during surgery. To say we were shocked and unbelievably sad is an understatement. So this is a warning for your dog requiring surgery to get a second opinion. Ask the steps they go through and how they handle the surgery. Then go to a second vet and compare the answers to make an educated decision. For many they are good but for us it turned out bad. I wish I had gotten a second opinion and our beautiful girl might still be with us.
July 26 · Jeff NoyesMy husband and I have gone to guardian vet since our French bulldog Benny was a puppy and he’s four years old now. Even after we moved to Salem we still make the 45 min drive because we don’t trust anyone else with the care of our pup. I would recommend guardian vet to anyone and everyone! Their pricing is reasonable and most importantly they provide quality care and everyone there has such big hearts and truly cares about your fur babies.-Kennedy & Andrew Rice
July 29 · kennedy benitezThey are amazing! Very caring to your pets, takes the time to listen to your concerns, and gives you all their attention. Made my kitten have a great first vet experience by giving her a toy and litter box and playing with her. Highly recommend!!!
June 07 · Nicolle SwansonI have been going to this clinic for over a year and staff are so kind and patient with me and my pup. My dog loves swallowing everything he sees and Guardian has been so proactive with all the things he gets into. The vet techs and veterinarians are so knowledgeable and really try and help with getting us into appointments when needed and educating me as well. My dog also has allergies and the vets have been really educational with how to aid my dog in a variety of ways! My pup is also anxious and they are so good with making him as comfortable as possibly!I will say that the cost of care is elevated compared to Seattle, but honestly understandable as I know wage in this industry can be low and they are doing their best to compensate the staff. I do also want to note that I have gone to Tualatin Emergency when their is no availability at this clinic, it was comparable pricing to an urgent visit with this clinic for the same medical diagnosis and treatment.
