Haire Veterinary Clinic Introduce
For pet owners across Illinois and the surrounding Midwest, finding a single veterinary clinic that provides both general wellness checks and highly specialized surgical and diagnostic services can be a challenge. Haire Veterinary Clinic, located in Jonesboro, IL, has distinguished itself as one of the few facilities in Southern Illinois to successfully combine a friendly, small-town atmosphere with a referral-level professionalism and advanced medical technology. The clinic, under the leadership of Dr. Haire, has become a destination for owners of dogs and cats needing complex orthopedic and neurological procedures.
The unique value proposition of Haire Veterinary Clinic is its commitment to providing sophisticated care—such as having the region's only on-site MRI machine—at a reasonable and often comparatively affordable price point. This mission is highly praised by clients who have traveled long distances (some over six hours) to access specialty services like IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) and TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgeries without the high cost typically associated with large referral centers or university teaching hospitals.
The professional team, including a full-time staff of veterinarians and assistants, offers in-depth treatment plans for difficult cases. Dr. Haire is often personally commended by clients for his compassionate approach, being "very upfront and honest" about a pet’s condition, and making himself available for time-sensitive emergency situations, even after hours on a Saturday. This blend of cutting-edge medicine and personalized, compassionate care makes Haire Veterinary Clinic an invaluable resource for the pet-owning community of Union County and beyond.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot recommend this place enough and would definitely say it was worth the 6 hour I took. The staff was very friendly and Dr. Haire was very upfront and honest about our dogs situation and was supportive of any decision made. His mission to have animal care for a more than reasonable price is definitely admirable. My dog went in for IVDD surgery and a month from the surgery she’s walking again! Amazing job from everyone at the Haire veteran clinic. Thank you!
July 15 · Luis CI cannot speak enough good about Dr. Haire. Our dog had a time sensitive situation going on and he came after hours on a Saturday to take care of our girl. What we thought would be a somewhat positive visit including an MRI and surgery (surgey due to injury is never good) took a turn for the worst and we had to say goodbye to our baby unexpectedly. He sat with us and showed the scans to make sure we understood exactly what was going on and was very honest with us. I cannot thank him enough along with Courtney I believe was the nurse's name. I just wish we lived closer so he could be our regular doctor.
August 27 · Savannah MathenyMy brother in law took his five yr old cat for a checkup for abnormal behavior and yellowing of his skin. Dr. Bailey took his temperature Thursday last week and sent him home with some medication. She said that he would be fine after he takes his medicine. Less than a week later, his symptoms got worse and his health declined. We then took him again to Dr. Bailey, but this Dr. Bailey sent us home with an IV bag of fluids to help stabilize him. Us a family, had to poke the cut and administer the IV because Dr. Bailey stated she could not due much due to her going on vacation. She mentioned that if he survived over the weekend she could admitted him on Monday, even though he needed to be admitted prior to when conditions got worse. She claimed that he showed no signs of pain, even the poor cat yelled and cried the whole night until he passed away. You should be ashamed of yourself because if this was your family pet things would have ended differently. I would not take any of my pets to this clinic unless you want to have a service that shows no empathy or compassion!!!
July 04 · Heather GunterBrought in my lab for TPLO surgery from 2&1/2hrs away. The receptionist, Nicki, was great anytime I called in the days leading up to surgery including the day of. Dr. Haire was awesome! Very straight to the point about everything, which I appreciated. His knowledge + experience with this surgery put my mind at ease when they rolled my pup into the back. And reasonably priced when compared other places!
February 07 · Jordan RichardsonEveryone is so nice and accommodating. Absolutely love this place. One of the best vets to find in the area. 💯👍💜Things are explained thoroughly and what is expected when your dog is having surgery and the outcome result. Thank you for being here and doing a great job.
