July 17 · Lisha StearnsI recently had a scare with my cat Leroy that we have been having since he was 2 months old. We were not sure what to expect. I prayed over him because a huge lump just appeared seemingly overnight. And I also prayed of what vet to take him to. A friend came to visit and suggestedHardinsburg Animal Clinic. Not knowing anything about them, I gave them a call. They made me appointments, and I brought him in. It wasn't the best news that I had received, but a decision had to be made of putting him to sleep or to have surgery to remove his cancerous tumor. The kids and I decided to have the surgery. At church, they asked for prayer for Leroy. Lol, some people thought he was a real person and not a cat. The day of the surgery, my sister said, "You know God just doesn't heal people he heals animals too. So we prayed for healing and for the hands of the doctors to have wisdom and the ability to do everything they could possibly do. In the midst of the surgery, I got a call stating that it was much larger than what they had anticipated, and I needed to make a decision if we wanted to continue. They continued. And did a wonderful job. Leroy came home. It was a big road ahead of us of recovery, but the doctors were so patient and loving that they helped us through everything. Today, Leroy is doing well. We are not sure how many more years he will live because he is an older cat, but we are enjoying every bit of our time with him. Thank you so much. I know it seems silly, but these animals become part of our lives, almost like a child. Thanks for not seeing Cat as a number. We appreciate you. And I know that it doesn't go the way we want to all the time, but at least I know that this is hospital that really cares about it's animals and the animal lovers.
