★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- My 20 year old kitty was in distress. I called, late night, and they set up an appointment right away. Unfortunately the life ran out of my baby before I could get her up there. When I called them back and told them what had happened the woman was awesome, her voice showed her sympathy and caring. She really understood what it's like when your companion dies. I truly appreciated her. July 02 · Sue Janota-Horneman
- Dr. Schwartz is super nice and knowledgeable. I was previously at another vet with my cats and moved to Hawthorne when she moved and we acquired a rescue dog.Ella (the rescue dog) was in a little bit of rough shape when she joined our family Dr. Schwartz and her staff were wonderful. They planned out the best things to address first for the well being of Ella and throughout the past month she has become a completely different dog.We will continue going to Hawthorne for all of our animal care needs moving forward. - Dr. Schwartz and team take care of our three dogs (two of which are senior), and all three of them love everyone in the office. Dr. Schwartz takes the time to build a relationship with your pets so when she is checking them out, they don't feel vulnerable. They trust her. We trust her. She is incredibly thorough, patient, kind, informative, and easy to talk to about any and all concerns.Any time we take our dogs in for not feeling well (which happens more often than we want with our senior pups), their office calls to check on them. In all of the vets I have been to, this has never happened. Their customer service is amazing.Added perks for this location: free dog washing station (shampoo included) and patient-only dog park (ensures all dogs are current with vaccinations). We love this vet! (They also take CareCredit.) January 15 · Emily Sauget
- We love Hawthorne in Troy and Dr. Schwartz is wonderful! My big dog loves going to the vet and seeing Dr. Schwartz. They are always so kind and caring. They take excellent care of our two dogs and cat. Everyone in the office is very friendly. February 07 · Beth Hook
- We took our dog there in the middle of the night because she was in severe neck pain. She’s had this issue before and we made them aware of this! However, they said it was her back! Now, they made me well aware that it was $325.00 just to walk in the door! Before any diagnosis! This to me is beyond ridiculous! Terrible, terrible, terrible! And then to be misdiagnosed! Now I have a $360.00 bill that I have to pay and the treatment they prescribed did not help. It is a shame that they can charge these prices and get away with it. God forbid if I would have allowed them to run any tests! I would have had a $1000.00 bill in no time. They were nice, and I realize somebody has to work that shift but as pet owners, they make you choose between your pet’s life and money and that’s wrong. So wrong. March 06 · Brenda Wernle
