Lakewood Veterinary Center Reviews
I am proud to bring my dear puppy to Dr Wright at Lakewood Vet. Since she’s been a puppy all of the staff, techs, and Dr Wright has been caring and attentive to my puppy and have helped make sure she is properly cared for. I really like the office and location, but most of all I care about the quality of care and attention to my dog. I can only make the highest recommendation that your puppy will receive high quality, modern, and scientifically supported medical care here. Dr Wright’s patient explanations, calm and relaxed demeanor, and skill have served our family well. Thanks Dr Wright!

Feb 23, 2025 · Sogol AhmadiniaMy dog has anxiety and gets stressed when going to the vet (but then again, what dog LOVES going to the vet?). I have come here the past three years and they prescribed my dog Trazadone to help calm her prior to visits. Trazadone is given in multiple doses starting two days before the visit.Today, I brought my dog in for her vaccines and annual check up. I had given my dog Trazadone two days ago, yesterday, and this morning. The vet tech came in, asked the usual probing questions (what food is she eating, what heartworm medication, etc.). After, I asked the tech questions about my dog's evening panting, sometimes strange eating schedule, etc. which he was unable to answer fully and said he would ask the doctor. He then brought my dog to the back to see the doctors.A few minutes later one of the doctors comes out and tells me they cannot give my dog the vaccines because my dog is too nervous and then she tells me they will be prescribing my dog additional medicine (on top of the Trazadone) for her anxiety. The doctor does not tell me anything about my dog's health condition or answer the questions that the vet tech allegedly wrote down and said he would ask her.Despite not doing anything to my dog, I am charged a $100 visit fee and the cost of the new medicine. I call back 30 min after I leave to reschedule an appointment for next week and bring up my opinion that I should not be charged a second visit fee for the follow up. Lakewood Vet Center does not seem to agree. They say I will have to pay another $100 visit fee next time I come in even though I paid it today. This is not good business.EDIT 7/2 -the hospital manager and owner both reached out professionally and apologized for the inconvenience and offered a refund of the visit which is appreciated.
Jul 02, 2025 · Peter HsiaoIt means so much to me that Deaven and Dr. Wright do not judge my baby's occasionally anxious personality. They understand that no one knows what caused her blindness. The staff at Lakewood treats me and Leaf with respect and seem eager to treat her when we visit. I have seen that Deaven and Dr. Wright treat my concerns with a sense of urgency as well. Leaf is my first cat, so I appreciate all of the education Deaven and Dr. Wright have given me over the past year and a half.
Apr 26, 2024 · Yasmin habibtiFor the past 16 years—since he was just four months old—my dog Bexar, a Yorkie-Poodle mix, has been in the exceptional care of Dr. Wright and his team. I am incredibly grateful for their knowledge, skill, and unwavering dedication to the animals in the DFW community. The staff is always so kind and patient, especially as Bexar has gotten older. No matter the day, they are always just a call, email, or text away, providing comfort and support whenever we need it. Thank you for everything you do!
