Lexington Veterinary Associates Introduce
For pet owners across Massachusetts, the health and well-being of our furry family members are paramount. Navigating veterinary care can sometimes be stressful, especially during emergencies or when financial concerns arise. In Lexington, Massachusetts, one veterinary practice has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to both exceptional medical care and profound compassion: Lexington Veterinary Associates. This article aims to provide Massachusetts residents with a clear, engaging, and informative overview of this remarkable veterinary hospital, highlighting why it stands as a trusted and, often, life-saving resource for local pet owners.
Lexington Veterinary Associates (Lex Vet) is more than just a clinic; it's a team of dedicated professionals who treat every animal with the utmost care, expertise, and empathy. The deep loyalty of their clientele, spanning decades and multiple generations of pets, speaks volumes about their consistent quality and trusted service. As one long-time client with over 20 years of experience as a "fur baby Mama" eloquently states, "I would not take my fur babies anywhere else!" This client's powerful testimony of Lex Vet caring for two Shih Tzus who lived to 16 years, and then, most dramatically, saving her Lhasa Apso, Harper, during a terrifying emergency, truly showcases the hospital's dedication.
During a desperate Christmas Eve emergency when Harper's uterus swelled critically, leading to a dire diagnosis and an exorbitant $8,500 surgery quote from an emergency vet, Lexington Veterinary Associates stepped in. Despite the holiday period and not having been to the office recently, Sylvia at the front desk "actually LISTENED TO ME!" and connected the client with Dr. Siddons, described as a "guardian angel!!!" Dr. Siddons, the surgeon, took on a highly risky, life-threatening emergency spay for Harper at a significantly more affordable price, ultimately saving her life and the owner's "bank account." The outcome was nothing short of miraculous: Harper, a 15-pound dog, lost 6 pounds after her swollen uterus was removed, a testament to Dr. Siddons' exceptional surgical skill. The follow-up care was equally compassionate, with the staff remaining "loving, sweet and so thoughtful," genuinely excited to see Harper thriving. This profound experience underscores Lex Vet's commitment to prioritizing pet welfare, offering crucial help when other doors were closed, and providing transparent, affordable care without unnecessary pressure or "guilt trips."
Lexington Veterinary Associates is conveniently located in Lexington, Massachusetts, making it a highly accessible option for pet owners throughout the town and its neighboring communities. Their dedicated facility can be found at:

Waltham Street is a significant thoroughfare in Lexington, ensuring that the hospital is easy to locate and reach from various parts of Lexington, as well as nearby towns like Waltham, Lincoln, and Burlington. The central positioning offers practical advantages for Massachusetts families needing routine appointments, urgent care, or simply picking up prescriptions or pet supplies. Easy accessibility helps reduce travel time and stress for both pets and their owners, which is particularly beneficial during emergencies, as demonstrated by Harper's story. While one review mentioned a desire for more transparent costs, the emergency case highlights that even in dire situations, Lex Vet was able to provide a life-saving solution at a significantly lower cost than a dedicated emergency hospital, making their services, especially for critical care, more accessible. Ample parking is typically available, further enhancing the convenience for local pet owners.

Lexington Veterinary Associates Reviews
I've been a fur baby Mama for 20+ years & I would not take my fur babies anywhere else! They took such good care of my two shitzu's, they both lived 16 years! Now I have a Lhasa Apso. I didn't take her to Lex Vet until I had her a couple of years... I got her rabies shots at Vetco (not recommended) but money was tight during Covid so I had to make it work.On Christmas eve her belly swelled like crazy! I had no idea what was going on. I took her to the emergency vet (blue pearl - waltham) and $1500 later they tell me she needs an $8500 surgery (emergency spay) because her Uterus is so swollen. I was beside myself! I went home, called 30+ places and NO one could help. It was between Christmas and New Years, no one was open, or had any slots and I did NOT have $8500 to throw around. Finally Lexington Vet answered! I hadn't been to the office since I had put my last Shitzu down back in 2016. Honestly, I was so worried about my Lhasa Apso (Harper) that I didn't even mention I used to go there.Sylvia picked up the phone. She actually LISTENED TO ME! She went and talked to the surgeon... she got me an appt to see the surgeon on New Years Eve! Dr Siddons! My guardian angel!!!Tuesday he checked Harper out, agreed to the surgery... it was scary, a lot of risky stuff going on... He said her uterus was like a water balloon it was extremely swollen and filled with fluid. Since it had to be taken out with metal tools, it could have ruptured & that would have caused sepsis. (We went home and stayed VERY STILL for 5 days... Then, Friday 1/3/25 @730am we went to the office, a short 7 hours later I picked my baby up and she was fixed! Her UTERUS WEIGHED 6 POUNDS! She went from a 15 pound dog to 9lbs after her surgery!2 weeks later, follow up... included in price of surgery. They were still loving, sweet and so thoughtful. Even excited to see us!Long story short (far too late, lol) ... Lexington Vet Assc. saved my dogs life! They saved my bank account. All said and done it was $3500 BUT it was not $8500 and they were AMAZING! It was the best feeling in the world to find a group of people that had no idea who I was but they were willing to listen, think then... just HELP! Lexington Vet Assc. was a breath of fresh air after the guilt trip from the animal hospital telling me I need to take out a "Care credit card" to do the surgery right now...Syliva, Dr Siddons, & everyone at Lexington Vet, Harper and I love and appreciate you all more than you can imagine! We brought thank you cookies from the yummy Royal Bakery, but that does not seem like enough. So this is my first Google Review (I think... lol) Anyone who loves their fur babies... well, this is the place to go!
Feb 28, 2025 · Jan MarchantI have used this practice for 4 years. I have always thought it was a bit of a money grab to be honest but they are local and have a good reputation so I put up with it. I have just started to use a different vet, out of town. The service and care are light years away. So much better, and they are actually transparent with costs.
Apr 24, 2025 · Jon MilneThey charge significantly higher rates than I expected. Initial registration for my kitten Lexi was several hundred dollars, and they quoted nearly $2,000 for a spay procedure. While the facility may offer quality care, these prices seem exorbitant. I took my kitten elsewhere and had her spay $300.
Dec 26, 2024 · Nellie TToday I received a package certified in which they sent me my dogs records with a note take your dog somewhere else! I guess they didn’t like that I calll them out on their services - I took my dig forA wellness exam because she needed the next guard and charged me 200 dollars for a five minute exam in which mind you they took me out of the exam room, then the doctors attitude toward me was so condescending and talk to me like I was a dumb person ! They are so expensive, they don’t tell you anything and they are weak - instead of getting better on how they handleCustomers they tell you to go somewhere else - why because they know they are wrong and steal your money ! They charged me 15 dollars extra supposedly for the plastic gloves they wear — I’m laughing so hard! Lucky for my doggy I have a new better least expensive, loving , caring vet that don’t kick me out of the room to examine my doggie! Lexington vets ya should have kept your miserable 11 dollars and not send me your unprofessional letter “ find another vet “ duh ! Rude people !
Apr 23, 2024 · Elizabeth EscobarGreat staff and care. When we recently had to euthanize our senile dog the staff was incredibly kind and caring.
