This model can be incredibly beneficial for local veterinarians seeking specialized surgical support without requiring pet owners to travel to distant referral centers. For pet owners, it means their primary veterinarian can potentially coordinate with Dr. Moody's services, making the specialized care more accessible and integrated into their existing veterinary relationship. Regardless of the exact operational nuance, its base in Mesa makes it a central point for access across the East Valley and potentially wider Arizona, ensuring that expert surgical care is within reach for complex conditions that general practitioners might refer out. The discreet nature of a surgical referral service often means direct walk-in visits by the public are less common, with cases typically being referred by a primary care veterinarian.

Feb 22, 2025 · Brian StrongDr. Moody and Sue fixed my Boston Terrier's badly luxating patella about four weeks ago and he's like a whole new dog. These two are professional, patient, highly skilled, and truly care about the pets. Dr. Moody took the time to answer all of my questions and offered me honest advice that I just wasn't getting from the few vets that I talked to before committing to the surgery. You can be certain that if you need surgery for your dog, you will get the highest quality care here. Thank you both for your excellent work.
Nov 11, 2020 · Kyle RotaDr Moody is exactly what we had been praying for! Our 1 1/2 ur old pup had suffered hip dislocation x2 in 2 weeks and the urgent care vet recommended leaving her in the ehmer sling while still dislocated until we could schedule surgery. All locations/surgeons I contacted were booked out for at least 2 weeks. During those 2 weeks on the pain and sedation meds, our pup also developed a UTI. She was so uncomfortable, seemingly depressed, and OUR hearts were breaking seeing her that way! We couldn’t bear the thought of waiting so long for surgery then suffering the pain and continued confinement of recovery as well. One of the surgeons I had contacted was Dr Moody. I had left a msg and waited for a response. Dr Moody himself returned my call and spent a long time gathering information and then presented me with 3 options for our pup’s situation. His immense knowledge, patience with all my questions, and conservative approach vs “surgery required at any expense” approach set my heart and mind at ease. He was a breath of fresh air when we had been experiencing financial strain (over $1000 spent with nothing to show for it), emotional stress and heartache, and fear of more of the same to come. We trusted him and followed all of his advice for option 3. Our pup is so happy to be out of her sling and the crate and no longer depressed! She is functioning so well in spite of her hip still being dislocated and miraculously seems so much happier with no evidence of pain at all! He told us to watch her and continue to evaluate if she shows signs of pain, but to let her be a dog. He was spot on because he asked detailed questions to evaluate our dog’s situation/status and breeds and did not do what was best for him...he advised based on what was best for us and our dog. We are amazed, elated, and so very thankful for Dr Moody! We wish more vets were like him.UPDATE: Option 3 was to let her hip remain dislocated, take the Ehmer sling off, stop crating her, and slowly wean her off all of the sedation and pain meds. “Option 3 is to let her be a dog and she will figure out what she can and cannot do. Even with it dislocated, her hip will form scar tissue that will help provide stability just like it would with the FHO surgery. Keep watching her for signs of pain and if she isn’t getting better - we can always do the surgery later.” It is now 2 months later and she seems happier than ever. She runs and plays and is able to dart around the yard with absolutely NO signs of pain at all. It has amazed us. She has done better than we could have ever imagined. We are so thankful to Dr Moody for his wisdom and the range of options he provided for us and our dog.
