Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital at Dixie Trail Reviews
We have an older dog who has required continuous special care for joints and other issues. The Oak Heart team always makes her feel welcome and, best of all, their treatment therapies have helped! The staff listen to us, and are very good at providing options without pressure. It’s a busy office but we appreciate them making all of us feel special.
Mar 26, 2025 · Phillip ChrittonI’ve been taking my dog to Oak Heart on Dixie Trail for four years, but after this experience, I’m heartbroken and completely disappointed. My dog recently had surgery to remove two masses. A couple of days later, she began vomiting and having diarrhea. I called the Dixie Trail location for guidance and never got a call back. Then things got worse—she started bleeding straight from her rectum and had blood in her stool. I immediately called the Saunders Street location, and they told me this was an emergency and to bring her in right away. I rushed over, got checked in, and then sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes without a single update. I went to the front desk—no one there. I walked toward the back to ask if anyone could help me, visibly upset and concerned for my dog.I was met with an employee who was shockingly rude and completely dismissive. If you work in veterinary care, compassion and communication are not optional—they are essential. She told me to wait 1–2 hours because she had someone more critical then my dog. I completely understand that more severe emergencies happen, and I genuinely hope that pet is okay—but the lack of basic empathy or even an apology for the wait and total lack of communication was appalling.I called another vet, and not only did they clearly explain the wait time, they told me they would triage my dog immediately and spoke to me with kindness and understanding. That’s what you expect when your pet is suffering and you’re terrified. This experience broke my trust in Oak Heart.
Apr 24, 2025 · Tiffany VizcainoI can’t say enough positive things about Drs, Dass, Hynes, and the staff at Oak Heart off Dixie! My dog is very anxious and the staff is beyond patient every time we visit. Colleen and Savvy are so great. They take time to work with my dog and ensure he is getting the best possible care. Would highly recommend.
Apr 06, 2025 · Katelyn WojdulaWe’ve been bringing our dog here for years, and she’s always loved it. The vet we saw today was incredibly kind and helpful during her allergy shot visit. Unfortunately, the experience was dampened when a red-haired receptionist interrupted the vet mid-conversation to ask about payment. I mentioned we had a card on file and provided the card type and name, but she seemed irritated when I didn’t specify which card—something I wasn’t aware was needed. Her attitude made the end of the visit a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, we’ve always had a great experience here.
