For Ohio pet owners, understanding both the geographical convenience and the practical accessibility of services is important for managing their time and ensuring their pet receives timely care.

When evaluating Pickerington Animal Hospital, several features and highlights emerge from public feedback, providing a balanced view for Ohio pet owners.
Comprehensive Service Offering: The clinic offers a wide range of standard veterinary services, from routine wellness to diagnostics and surgery, which can be convenient for pet owners looking for a single facility to meet multiple needs.
Use of Credit Card Deposits: The clinic requires a credit card deposit over the phone to book appointments, a practice noted by a customer as being unusual compared to other vets they have used. This policy might be a feature to reduce no-shows but can be an unexpected requirement for new clients.
Operational Procedures for Appointments: Customers have reported being instructed to wait outside the office upon arrival due to delays, even when arriving on time. This can lead to significant waiting times (e.g., 42 minutes beyond the appointment time), indicating potential challenges with appointment scheduling or managing patient flow.
Efficiency of Consultations: One client noted that after significant waiting, the actual time spent with their animal for consultation was very brief (5-7 minutes), raising concerns about the thoroughness of the examination given the cost incurred.
Communication Challenges: Multiple reviews highlight issues with communication. This includes difficulty reaching staff by phone with "any regularity," inconsistent information provided over the phone versus in person (e.g., regarding flea medication availability without an exam), and general lack of attentiveness or helpfulness from office staff. This is a significant point of feedback from customers.
Policy Adherence: While policies (like needing to see a pet for flea medication sales) are understandable from a veterinary perspective, the lack of clear communication about these policies upfront leads to client frustration and wasted trips.
Owner Experience: Customers have expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating they "won't be back nor recommend them to anyone" due to "unpleasant experience" and poor communication.

Pickerington Animal Hospital Reviews
Disappointed to say in the least. I made an appointment for the 1st time on a Wednesday, the appt was the following Monday evening. They took my credit card deposit over the phone which I have never done at any other Vet. When I arrived on time, in the evening they told me NOT to come in the office because they were running behind on their appointments & I needed to wait until they called me back. I waited 42 minutes over my appt time. Then when I check in they spent all of 5-7 minutes with my animal & asked a couple questions about them. Took the sample for the test & said if I don't hear anything for them then my cat was fine. I spent quite a bit of money for this very unpleasant experience. I won't be back nor recommend them to anyone! I highly recommend they improve their communication to improve their business.
Nov 27, 2024 · J CThe worst office staff! They do not answer phones with any regularity and are not attentive or helpful when they do. I called to check on flea med availability and was told it would be waiting for me. When I arrived I was told they needed to see my pet before they could sell it to me. I had proof she was up to date on vaccines, but they still refused to sell it to me. I understand policy, but why was I not told this when I called before I drove to the office, which was my purpose in calling. I will not return.
Apr 22, 2024 · Heather JoyDr.Pentello was good with our pet, but the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. It's been such a hassle dealing with them. Our pet is still sick, but we will be continuing care elsewhere. The lack of compassion we've experienced here is inexcusable.
Nov 06, 2023 · Jasberry3If I could give zero stars I would. So I never make posts like this but I truly feel like people need to know.Today I took my boyfriends moms cat to the vet. Pickerington Animal Hospital, and I was appalled by the experience. I told the vet how Millie hadn’t been herself since last Sunday. Her eyes have been goopy and watery, also hasn’t been acting herself. I told them usually she’s really good about getting in the cat carrier, but was hesitant and gave me some trouble this morning, and that her appetite has even been different. The veterinarian picked the carrier up and completely turned it to where it was straight up and down, and began to rigorously shaking the carrier to get Millie out, her claw was stuck on the holes in the side of the carrier and her hole front leg bent behind her body and her full weight of her body was straining on that leg. To say she was petrified is an understatement. I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do. He gave her the drops for her eyes, I paid and quickly left.If you care about your animals and want a vet that does too. I highly recommend bringing them to another vet. Millie is still not really herself since the visit and it truly breaks my heart.
Sep 22, 2023 · Michaela BramlishAlways friendly and very happy with everyone at this office. Vets have been awesome with all our animals. One of the abandoned kittens, Hobbs, was very sick and they got him in and got him on medications immediately. They have helped me with not only my dog but numerous stray cats and kittens.
