Plattsburgh Animal Hospital Reviews
Back in February I brought my 12 year old dog in after he collapsed one morning out of no where. Since then I’ve spent almost 10k… after my pup wasn’t feeling good once again, I brought him in. More test with no explanation. I even had to explain to them what medication he was on because they didn’t know somehow, even though the meds were prescribed by them. I had to request a fecal test. With diarrhea, vomiting, and decreased appetite Dr.Short didn't think it was needed at this time and said maybe next week if he wasn’t better. I didn’t want another office visit charge so said I wanted it done even though she didn’t think it was needed. They called me back the next day saying he had hookworm found in the fecal test, to come pick up a med and come back in a few days to be rechecked. I went to Google to research hookworm and found my other dog would need to be treated as well since exposed, so I called to ask questions. They were very rude on the phone so I went into the office…I recommend anyone who has gone here to request your records. I was appalled by the notes and information. They didn’t even know what meds and doses he’s on, the notes all had different meds, doses and when some appts had no notes at all. Very unorganized practice and concerning being they are able to treat animals in this manner and treat individuals who are just trying to save their pets lives. She also said I missed my last appt for his recheck. I explained I did come in and saw Dr Church. She’s said he didn’t have notes for the appt. I’m like well I paid for one you see. “Well it’s shows you didn’t do the recommended test.” I told her bc Dr church said they weren’t needed at that time. She said to me “well maybe then you should stick to one provider so we know what’s going on”I then said we didn’t do the recommended test per Dr.Church because he was doing good and has been for 2 months. She said to me, “well obviously he’s not doing well because you’re here again aren’t you?”If Plattsburgh Animals Hospital thinks comments like these are ok when I was just trying to get more information on what my dog had and meds to treat, and also how they are missing information on medication, office visits and actually what was going on with him, it’s very concerning. The lack of customer service to paying owners and the lack of care for the animals well being is sickening. They are owned by Rare Breed Veterinary Corporation.
Jun 01, 2025 · Erica LefebvreMy mother brought her dog in to be spayed at 9 months old. After the surgery she was lethargic. She began puking and having severe diarrhea with blood. Brought her back in, they did very little testing. They sent my mother home with a PROBIOTIC prescription. Nothing more. The dog continued to puke and have bloody stool. My mother called them 3-5 times today and they shrugged off her concerns and assured her all was normal. The dog died. Blood coming out from her nose, mouth, and all other holes. Clearly having had internally hemorrhaged due to poor surgery techniques, lack of after care, and taking concerns seriously. Little testing. Pure negligence and now my mother has experienced a traumatic loss. Nothing will replace her puppy. This is the second dog that my family has lose at the hands of this vet. My other dog passed away from Lyme disease due to poor disease management from the vet. My family trusted this vet office with the lives of our animals and it ended in their death. 0 stars. Do not trust them.
May 04, 2025 · RaeWe have both of our Labradors currently set up with Plattsburgh Animal Hospital. My older boy, Rooster, would literally go CRAZY, when he saw Doctor Tina (I forgot her last name). Sadly, she is no longer there, but she loved her patients, and he absolutely adored her! Outside of one occurrence, with Dr. Brown, which I will NEVER, EVER, have him again, we truthfully have had wonderful results and experiences with the rest of the team. Dr. Kim & Dr. Heatherton are truly fabulous! Thank you for treating us with respect and treating our babies with such care and concern.
May 28, 2025 · TERRIBEECHINGEarly Saturday morning I called Plattsburgh animal hospital for help with my little dog Zoey she had stopped eating and drinking.I then drove 40 miles from Elizabethtown to get there. After calling my vet on Friday,Westport animal clinic and was told they were fully booked. When I arrived Roxanne was waiting at the front door and brought Zoey and I to the back within 2 minutes Dr.Church came in he then took her to do x-rays and blood work. After receiving the results he came back with the bad news, we discussed his prognosis and he left to give us some time. He then came back in with a vet tech and we put her down. I'm 65yrs old n have 2 children, I have had been to many different vets over the yrs but have never been treated with such a professional and truly caring staff. Zoey and I want to say thank you for your help she's not in pain anymore. Bless all of you❤️💜🧡💚💛🤍
