- AAHA Accreditation: Prettyboy Veterinary Hospital is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), indicating a commitment to high standards of care across all aspects of veterinary medicine.
Prettyboy Veterinary Hospital distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights, though it's important to consider all available feedback from clients:
- AAHA Accreditation: This is a significant highlight, as AAHA-accredited hospitals are evaluated regularly against rigorous standards of excellence in areas such as facility, equipment, patient care, and staff. This accreditation signifies a commitment to high-quality medical practices.
- Comprehensive Care Offerings: The hospital provides a wide range of services, from routine wellness to advanced diagnostics (radiology, ultrasound), complex surgeries (including cruciate repair, patellar luxation repair, pyometra), internal medicine (including diabetic care and chemotherapy), and specialized treatments like K-Laser therapy. This breadth of service aims to meet most of a pet's healthcare needs under one roof.
- Focus on Senior Pet Care: Their specific dedication to senior examinations and proactive diagnostics for older pets highlights a commitment to supporting pets through all life stages.
- Compassionate End-of-Life Support: The description of their hospice and euthanasia services emphasizes the compassionate and caring approach taken during these incredibly difficult times, offering support and ensuring dignity.
- Experienced and Caring Staff (as per some reviews): One review strongly praises the "Vets and staff" for being "amazing" and treating "fur kids just like their own family," recommending them "100 percent." This indicates that many clients experience a high level of personal and empathetic care.
- Modern Equipment: The use of K-Laser therapy, digital radiology, and ultrasound demonstrates an investment in modern veterinary technology to enhance diagnostic capabilities and treatment outcomes.
- Client Boarding: The availability of professional boarding services adds convenience for pet owners, knowing their pets are cared for in a familiar veterinary environment while they are away.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of contrasting experiences. One notable review expresses significant disappointment regarding appointment scheduling for an urgent case, where a diabetic dog with kidney disease passed away before a specialist appointment could be secured, despite repeated calls and explanation of urgency. While the reviewer explicitly states they are "not saying it’s their fault that our dog passed away," this highlights a potential challenge with urgent care accessibility, especially for specialized needs, and a perceived lack of flexibility in scheduling that could be critical for very ill pets.

It is crucial for pet owners, especially those with pets facing severe or rapidly progressing conditions, to discuss appointment availability and emergency protocols directly with the hospital to ensure their specific needs can be met. Prettyboy Veterinary Hospital Reviews
Our dog was a diabetic and was in the beginning stages of kidney disease. We were seeing our regular vet but she wasn’t getting better. We just couldn’t get her insulin regulated. A friend told me there was a specialist at Pretty Boy veterinarian hospital. I called them to get an appointment. I told them it was urgent and that our dog really wasn’t doing very well. I explained the details. They gave me an appointment for almost 4 weeks later I called several times to see if they had any cancellations because she was getting worse. Our dog passed away before she could make it to the appointment. I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t fit an ailing dog in to their schedule. They were disappointing. I’m not saying it’s their fault that our dog passed away, however, I think it would’ve made a difference if she was seen by a specialist.
Jan 19, 2023 · Laura BroccolinaThe Vets and staff are amazing. They treat you and your fur kids just like their own family. We would not take our fur kids any where else. We can't say enough good things about them. We recommend them 100 percent.
Feb 15, 2018 · kevin hopkinsI've been coming to pretty boy for my 2 pups for about 2.5 years after moving to the area. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable. They thoroughly discuss their thoughts and suggestions for plans of care. I've worked with both vets and they both have helped my dogs with issues. The vet techs and front staff are all very kind. You can tell they all care immensely about the animals.Recently had to say goodbye to our old boy and the vet staff was incredibly gentle during that difficult time.
Mar 13, 2024 · Bailey ReneePrettyboy will take the best care of your animals. Most recently my dog needed to come in for an unscheduled visit and they were able to fit him in the next day. They always do their best and are very caring.
May 31, 2024 · Jamie HillMost recent vet appointment felt rushed. I told the vet a recent issue my dog has been having and she said "oh that might be of concern" but then never addressed it or followed up on it during the appointment. I called back to have someone call me about it so I could get advice and was told by the receptionist "I'm not a vet but...that's probably not a problem" yes you are not a vet I'd like to speak to a vet. No one ever called me back. A year ago when I brought dog in (i was a couple months post partum) the vet was a man and somehow it came up that I recently had a baby. The guy overtly looked me up and down and made a comment about my body looking good for just having had a baby. It made me so extremely uncomfortable. I'm sad because this place is just down the street from my house and I really wanted it to work out.
