Radiocat Georgia Introduce
Radiocat Georgia is a highly specialized veterinary facility dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of feline hyperthyroidism using advanced I-131 radioiodine therapy. Located in Marietta, our center offers a targeted, effective, and often curative solution for this common condition in older cats. We are not a general practice animal hospital, but rather a referral center for veterinary radiology and a veterinary pharmacy that provides this specific type of nuclear medicine. Our mission is to provide a single, definitive cure for hyperthyroidism, avoiding the daily pilling, potential side effects, and ongoing costs associated with other treatment options like medication or surgery. Our team of experts is solely focused on this condition, allowing for a level of specialization and care that is unparalleled. We have successfully treated thousands of cats, helping them return to a normal, healthy life. We believe that pet owners deserve a clear, long-term solution, and our I-131 therapy is designed to provide just that, with a high success rate and minimal stress for both the cat and their owner.
Radiocat Georgia is conveniently located at 630 Cobb Pkwy N, Marietta, GA 30062. Our facility is designed for a unique, streamlined experience, as noted by a client review. Unlike traditional veterinary clinics where you enter the building, our process is designed to be as stress-free as possible for your cat. Upon arrival, you can park in our wheelchair-accessible lot and let our team know you have arrived for your appointment. A staff member will then come out to your vehicle to receive your pet and take them inside for treatment and monitoring. This "curbside" approach minimizes the anxiety that cats often experience in new environments with other animals. We operate strictly by appointment, and given the specialized nature of our work, we highly recommend booking well in advance. Our facility includes wheelchair-accessible parking and restrooms to ensure a comfortable experience for all human visitors, even though the primary interaction is a curbside drop-off and pickup. We are committed to making the process as smooth and efficient as possible, from the initial consultation to the final pickup of your cured cat.
Our services at Radiocat Georgia are highly focused on the diagnosis and treatment of feline hyperthyroidism. We utilize a veterinary pharmacy to provide the I-131 radioiodine and a specialized animal hospital setting for treatment and post-treatment monitoring. Our core services include:
- Diagnosis and treatment of feline hyperthyroidism using a single, curative I-131 injection.
- Veterinary Radiology services as part of our diagnostic and treatment process.
- Blood Pressure Measurement and Blood Tests as part of the pre-treatment workup.
- Comprehensive Cat Care and medical treatment during the hospitalization period.
- In-house Diagnostic Tests to confirm the condition and monitor the cat's health.
It is important to note that a full pre-treatment workup is required, which includes a comprehensive blood panel and chest x-rays, typically performed by your primary veterinarian. These tests are essential to ensure the cat is a good candidate for the procedure. Our team reviews all records to ensure the safety and success of the treatment. The core of our service is the single, painless injection of radioactive iodine, which safely and effectively destroys the thyroid tumor without the need for anesthesia or surgery. Following the injection, cats are hospitalized for a few days in a specially designed nuclear ward to allow their radioactivity levels to decrease to a safe level for discharge. Our services are designed to be a "one-shot deal" for a lasting cure.
Radiocat Georgia is a standout choice for the treatment of feline hyperthyroidism due to its unique and effective approach. The single-injection I-131 therapy is considered the gold standard by many veterinary endocrinologists and offers a permanent cure in the vast majority of cases, unlike daily medication which only manages symptoms. The convenience of our curbside service is a key feature, as it drastically reduces stress for cats who do not do well with travel or being in a hospital waiting room. Our staff is specialized and experienced in handling these specific cases, ensuring your cat receives expert care. While the up-front cost may seem high, it is often more cost-effective in the long run compared to the continuous expenses of medication, monitoring blood tests, or potential surgical complications. We are transparent about the costs associated with the procedure itself. We also work closely with referring veterinarians to ensure we have all the necessary information, and our dedicated team is there to answer your questions and guide you through the process, even if there have been some communication issues in the past. We understand that this is a major decision for pet owners and aim to provide the best possible outcome for your cat.

What is worth choosing Radiocat Georgia for your cat? The primary reason is the promise of a cure for hyperthyroidism. Unlike other methods that require ongoing management, I-131 therapy is a definitive solution that eliminates the source of the problem. This means no more struggling to give your cat pills every day, no more concerns about surgical risks, and no more the hassle and expense of frequent vet visits for blood work. For a pet owner dealing with a sick cat, the ability to find a final solution is invaluable. While there have been some negative reviews regarding communication and unexpected costs for pre-testing, it is crucial to understand that these tests are necessary to ensure the cat is a safe candidate for the procedure. We recommend having a clear conversation with both your primary vet and our team to get a full understanding of all requirements and costs upfront. Our focused expertise, high success rate, and unique patient-friendly service model make us a worthwhile and excellent choice for a permanent solution to feline hyperthyroidism. We are dedicated to restoring your cat's health and helping them live a longer, happier life.

Radiocat Georgia Reviews
Unlike anywhere else I have ever been, you don't go inside, ever. You park, let them know you are there (or just make your appointment time), and they come out to you, both to receive your pet, and return your pet.
June 27 · Bob DarnallThis office is deceitful when asking for a breakdown of costs. They waited until 2 weeks before my appointment to inform me they wanted $1500 worth of additional testing to see my cat, to be done immediately! They had his records much longer than that, plus it's the holidays, so $1500 isn't just laying around. This is in addition to the $2000 they charge for the procedure. I cancelled an appointment in another state with another facility because Radiocat said they could help sooner. The other nuclear treatment office did not request additional extensive testing at the last minute. I'm sure Radiocats response to my review will include that their "disclaimers" state additional testing may be requested, but this situation is beyond obsurd.Don't just walk away from this place, run!
November 27 · Stephanie DickensInstructions were clearly given and if I had any questions, they were answered promptly. Drop off, treatment, and pick up were easy and went according to planned. My cat had a negative reaction to oral medication so this was her only treatment option, and she is doing great with normal thyroid levels one year later.
December 19 · Amy PrallDropped off our cat to get treatment handoff when it very well.
