Scotland Veterinary Hospital Introduce
Scotland Veterinary Hospital, located in the heart of Laurinburg, North Carolina, has a complex reputation built on two very different kinds of customer experiences. On one hand, the practice is praised as a highly dependable and honest veterinary office, where the focus is on providing the best care for pets rather than maximizing profit. Pet owners who have had positive experiences speak highly of the veterinarian, often referring to him by name, and highlight his responsiveness in emergency situations, even in the middle of the night. This level of dedication to animal care is a significant reason why some clients consider it the "best place around" to care for their pets. The clinic's philosophy appears to be centered on an honest assessment of a pet’s condition and a transparent discussion about the best way to manage costs, ensuring that pet owners can make informed decisions without feeling pressured. The veterinarian's willingness to go the extra mile for a pet in need is a standout feature for these satisfied clients. They appreciate the personalized attention and feel that their pets are in safe and caring hands. The clinic's commitment to accessibility and a focus on animal welfare seems to be a key part of its appeal to many members of the community.
Scotland Veterinary Hospital is located at 17860 Andrew Jackson Hwy, Laurinburg, NC 28352, USA. This address places it in a convenient location for residents of Laurinburg and the surrounding areas in Scotland County. The clinic is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. These accommodations ensure that all members of the community, regardless of mobility, can access the facility comfortably and with ease. While the clinic appears to have hours that vary, some sources indicate it may be available 24 hours for emergencies, with the clinic number routing to the veterinarian's cell phone after hours. This feature is intended to provide peace of mind for pet owners who may face a medical crisis at any time. However, it is important to note that a customer review highlighted a serious issue with this after-hours service, where a pet owner with a sick goat was left waiting for an extended period of time without the veterinarian showing up or calling back. This suggests that while the service is advertised, its reliability may vary. The physical location itself is a straightforward veterinary office, with a focus on providing necessary care within a standard clinic environment. Clients should be aware of the different experiences people have had with the clinic's availability, particularly for urgent, after-hours situations.
Services Offered
Based on the provided information, Scotland Veterinary Hospital appears to focus on providing essential veterinary care. While a comprehensive list of specific services is not available, customer reviews suggest they handle a variety of cases, from routine visits to emergencies. The clinic provides veterinary services that are described as dependable and honest. One client's review suggests the veterinarian provides assessments and advice on the best way to spend money on their pet's care, which implies a range of diagnostic and treatment options. The clinic handles animal emergencies, as evidenced by a client who was helped in the middle of the night for an issue with their Great Danes. The veterinarian also handles difficult end-of-life situations, such as euthanizing a beloved goat. The clinic’s willingness to perform these services at a high level, combined with a focus on honest patient assessment, suggests a comprehensive approach to general veterinary medicine. However, the available information does not specify services such as boarding, grooming, or surgical procedures beyond those mentioned in reviews. For pet owners in the Laurinburg area, it is worth contacting the clinic directly to confirm if they offer specific services like routine vaccinations, dental care, or spay/neuter procedures. It is evident that the clinic provides a range of care that is vital to the community, from standard visits to critical, time-sensitive situations.
Features and Highlights
The most compelling highlight of Scotland Veterinary Hospital, based on positive customer feedback, is the veterinarian's honesty and dedication to animal welfare over financial gain. One review explicitly states that the veterinarian will "give you an honest assessment" and inform you on the "best way to spend your money," which is a rare and highly valued trait in any business. The dependability of the clinic is another key feature, with a client noting they responded in the middle of the night for an emergency. This type of dedication is a testament to their commitment to their patients. Another highlight is the personalized approach, as clients feel the veterinarian is truly "in it for caring for your pets." This sense of trust and personal connection is a significant factor for repeat business and high satisfaction. The clinic also has a positive reputation for handling emergencies, although one customer's review provides a deeply concerning counterpoint. This reviewer's experience of a broken promise and lack of communication during a critical, time-sensitive situation with a dying pet is a major red flag that prospective clients should be aware of. This review, along with a report from another local vet of similar incidents, suggests that while the clinic has the potential for great service, there may be inconsistencies in its reliability, particularly with after-hours emergencies. The conflicting reviews paint a complex picture of a practice that is beloved by some for its honesty and dependability but deeply criticized by others for a lack of follow-through in a critical time of need.

What is Worth Choosing Scotland Veterinary Hospital?
Choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal and important decision, and for residents of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Scotland Veterinary Hospital presents a unique set of considerations. For those who have had positive experiences, the clinic is worth choosing for its exceptional honesty and dedication. The veterinarian's focus on providing the best care for pets without being driven by financial motives is a rare and valuable trait. Clients who have received emergency care praise his responsiveness and dependability, stating he has been there for them in the middle of the night. This level of commitment can be incredibly reassuring for pet owners. The clinic is described as the "best place around" for its honest assessments and a pleasure to visit. However, it is also important to consider the deeply negative experience of a client who was left waiting for a dying pet to be euthanized after a promise of help. This conflicting feedback suggests that while the clinic can offer great service, its reliability, particularly in after-hours emergencies, may not be consistent. A potential client should weigh these two very different experiences. For routine check-ups and non-urgent care, the positive reviews suggest a trustworthy and honest professional. However, for critical, time-sensitive emergencies, a prospective client may want to have a backup plan or discuss the clinic's procedures with them directly before committing to their care. The clinic’s commitment to providing an honest assessment and a reasonable approach to spending is a significant factor in its favor, making it a viable option for many in the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I cannot say enough good things about this place. They have responded in the middle of the night and came in for an emergency we had with one of our Danes. Very honest and dependable. This vet will give you an honest assessment and inform you on the best way to spend your money. He’s in it for caring for your pets and not about the money he can get out of you. Always a pleasure when we visit and leave satisfied with the services he offers. Hands down the best place around to care for your pets.
July 15 · Jason TompkinsCame home on Saturday afternoon and my sweet 13 yr old Nigerian goat needed to be euthanized. He was sick and beyond treatment. I called Labib as he has his clinic number go directly to his cell after hours. I asked if I brought the little goat to him if he could euthanize for me. YES, YES, he said. He said he was in Lumberton but would meet me at his clinic "in an hour to an hour and a half." His exact words. Said he'd call me when he got there. I told him that would be fine so loaded up Neven and rode to the bank to get plenty of cash. I went ahead to his clinic to wait so as to be able to get him euthanized as soon as he got there. I called him to let him know i was there, no need to call me...just come. He said he was still in Lumberton and would let me know when he was on his way. Keep in mind 2 hours had gone by already. By this time my little goat is struggling to breathe. I waited another hour and a half and called him to see if he was coming at all. HE WOULD NOT ANSWER! All this time I could have been at NC State and already stopped his suffering. After 4 hours from the time I called him he didn't come or call me back! I left, took him home to die in pain. All he had to do ways say, I'm out of town and I'm sorry I cannot help. I would totally understand that but instead he LIED and purposefully let me sit there with a dying goat. Why! Why would a veterinarian who takes an oath to do no harm HARM my sweet pet! Labib doesn't care about animals. He is a fake. I called a local equine vet and she came out at midnight ( almost 8 hrs after I called labib) and euthanized him & by this time his cardiovascular system was so far gone we could hardly get a vein. This kind vet said this was the 4rd time she heard this about Labib and twice before it was a goat and he lied and didn't show up. Who does this? How does he lay down at night! IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS, STEER CLEAR FROM THIS LYING, SELFISH, CRUEL excuse for a vet. The vet who came is reporting him as this breaks everybrule in veterinary medicine.

June 21 · Susan CummingsBe careful leaving paperwork!! I had to go grab more cash down the road at the new dollar general, because the basic yearly rabies shots were $90 for 2 little ankle biting dogs! That was after I declined the following:-Full distemper compo, which is parvo, etc.. the other is for global diseases, if you're a traveler, etc..those are $80. So you're looking at $125 per dog, just insane! To the point now... When I got back with the rest of the cash I needed, the paperwork I had to leave for him was the previous years records and he had lost them, although I guess I didn't need them anymore, it's not the point. My aunt keeps everything to be shown that they had them each year, and he supposedly looked everywhere. Then, he said, "are you sure I didn't give it to you?" How could he have given it to me when he needed me to leave them to copy the information needed while I went to grab money, which only took less than 5 minutes. He didn't lose them damn papers, he did something with them for a reason, he kept them and I can't figure it out, but I really would like to get my aunt's papers from 2024 and I know his ass has them. The place was nasty and it stunk. I shouldn't have let him do anything, but as soon as I declined the expensive shots that are 250 bucks, he had quickly given one shot to a dog and was asking to get the other one before I seen my aunt's text that said,"hell no that's too damn expensive, get out of there! I only paid 50 bucks last year at X-Way for both to get those same shots". So be careful, He almost had me talked into it too! Very nice man though, but that's what you gotta watch for, I was uneducated in this type of stuff and some people take advantage of that!
