We can definitively say that the folks at Scout’s House saved us a surgery and greatly improved our dog’s quality of life! Our vet saw Rocky for a low back injury and recommended neurology to consider surgery and mentioned maybe physical therapy can help. Well, a couple mos in to PT and he already started improving. Then one of their very astute docs noted he had a PCL injury and advised another look with the vet. Again, the recommendation after knee imaging was to do surgery right away and he was given pain meds. Thankfully, our PTs were patient and continued to see him regularly. They advised on home exercises and kept a close eye. If I ever had questions, they were very responsive with email. Now, a year after PT first started, Rocky is running again and very active! He absolutely loves the team there so we will continue to go every other month if we can but I am so pleased with his care that I had to share this! As a primary care provider for humans, I am all about prevention. Surgery should be the absolute last resort for our pets who have no say in the matter! I’m so grateful that we did not have to crate Rocky for 6 wks while he recovers from a surgery he did not even need! Thank you to Scout’s House from the bottom of our hearts! Sending Rocky’s ecstatic love from across the bridge in San Lorenzo! - Meena Nair
