Signal Hill Pet Hospital Reviews
Large Breed Dog Owners, Take Caution & THEY GIVE CREDIT TO GOOD REVIEWS!!!!No professional veterinarian practice would add $15 dollar credit for a glowing review- As many others mention this is a case for the better business bureau. The truth is, this place does the bare minimum and treats your loved pet like an inconvenience.Unfortunately, our experience at Signal Hill Pet Hospital was incredibly disappointing. Despite our dog being gentle, well-behaved, and friendly—even for a large breed—we were met with a staff that appeared uncomfortable and inexperienced in handling larger dogs. What stood out the most was the lack of professionalism and genuine care. The vet and technician showed little warmth or confidence, and shockingly, I was expected to be hands-on during the appointment. As a paying customer, I expect trained professionals to handle my dog with skill and compassion—not to be relied upon to assist in basic procedures. We paid $87 for what amounted to less than 30 seconds of a physical exam. The doctor didn’t check our dog’s ears, paws, nose, or body. WHICH IS CRUCIAL TO THEIR CARE. It was only after I asked whether I needed to help that the technician became active at all. The visit felt rushed, impersonal, and poorly managed.Additionally, they claim “Our goal is to make your pet healthy and happy” A exam should be a POSITIVE experience for your loved animal. As many educated owners know- even if the price is cheap it’s not worth the trauma your animal may endure.
May 23, 2025 · Ashley CruzPet owners beware! The office staff at this vet clinic are incompetent and rude. The staff lacks professionalism and empathy. Every time I called, I was on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes. And each time they answered, they could not find my information even though I had just been there hours before. However, they were very quick to charge us over $6000 for treatment that they never added to our signed estimate. The office manager and the rest of the front office staff were exhausting to work with. One front desk woman gave us attitude every time we came in with my dog. Again, awful demeanor. The cherry on top was when the same front desk woman began speaking loudly and negatively about the doctor in front of the clients in the lobby. Amazing that this place employs staff like this. I will say this, Dr. Atalla was a very kind and understanding vet. She explained things thoroughly and provided options for pet care. She is the only reason I did not give a lower rating.
Oct 15, 2024 · May CDr. Atala is unprofessional and condescending! Talked to us as if we were idiots. She literally looked.y husband up and down as to judge his appearance and then rudely asked him to remove the cat from carrier. My husband is heavily tattooed and his hair a mess as wel have been dealing with a lot pet wise.I have never had such a rude interaction with a vet in the 30+years I have been a pet owner. Avoid this place for your sanity. Took everything in me not to tell her off.
Jun 09, 2025 · Nadith SchusterThis place is ONLY good if you ONLY need Vaccinations! For vaccinations you don’t need an appointment and can walk right in which is great. Vaccinations only take about 30 mins in and out and they don’t charge for office visits if you only need vaccines. The pricing for vaccines are great BUT EVERYTHING else is soooo expensive! Like I’m talking ear cleaner for $75! The vet tech literally told me I should just pick some up from PetSmart for $15 instead, which I did!On the down side if you do need to see a doctor, the women doctor is Cold, harsh doesn’t even ask you pets name. Or introduce herself that’s why I DONT KNOW HER NAME. She comes in for a “exam” for about 2 mins she pushes bloodwork, X-rays and other testing for EVERY Little THING. I feel like she is just a money grab! These test aren’t even needed for a cut on the paw or ear infection!I have heard the Male doctor is very good and kind, so if you do need a appointment I suggest asking for him before you book. The vet techs are also kind so that’s good.So again only go if you need vaccines and just do a walk in. Don’t bother paying for an appointment it’s not worth it at all. I suggest finding another vet that is more friendly.
Jun 25, 2025 · Marie BreeDO NOT TAKE YOUR BIG DOG HERE!!!! Staff is wildly incompetent. They made me wait 30 min past my appointment time to be seen when there was no apparent rush. They barely acknowledged my dog as they did not pet him or give him any treats. I was left to hold him while they did their 2 second exam. They didn’t check his paws, nose, mouth, skin, etc and when I questioned this they said I not express concerns about him at reception therefore the doc did what he was supposed to do. After the exam I was left to hold my dog while the nurse gave it a shot. During my appointment they showed no care for my dog. They where just there to make their money at the expense of my dogs health. I later called to complain and question what had happened. the front office was very confrontational eventually yelling and hanging up on me. They are HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH. They said that I would have to talk to a manager who was not present while there office was still open. They had no way of contacting the manager while still open. Thats a huge concern for me as a pet owner. What if something happens at the practice? They can’ do anything? This is a horrible pet hospital that I believe should lose their license to operate as they did nothing to ensure the health, saftey, or comfortably of my dog during the visit. Not only do they not care about your dog they manipulate their google reviews by giving $15 credit for a good review. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!
