Sphynx Clubhouse Reviews
We purchased a kitten from Lauren in April. We drove over 5 hours for a specific kitten. Upon our arrival, she informed us that she could not find him. I believe at that time, there was 4-5 separate Queens and their litters in a room with multiple cages. She gave me a different kitten, that she ensured was neutered. He in fact, was not.But fine. We drove so far & really were not knowledgeable when it came to choosing breeders. So we took him home a fell in love. His name is Aang. He is sweet & beautiful. He is now dying from FIP & HCM.Our family is devastated.I reached out to Lauren. She maintains no clear records about the individual Queens & Sires or their subsequent litters. Im not even really sure how old my kitten truly is. She also made it a point to send me a copy of our contract, where it states her “health guarantee “ is only good for the 1st 72hrs.In my opinion, she is an unethical cat breeder, and her kittens are high risk for cognitive health issues.Due to her greed ( some of the most expensive kittens Ive seen) & gross negligence, we are all suffering.
Sep 08, 2024 · Dana CharresWe love our boy, but the whole experience was off-putting. And I suggest keeping your receipt of payments. She literally called us after we left asking if we left with more than our one kitten and we had to resend Her proof of purchase.
Feb 23, 2025 · Beck ForbesI got my kitten in December of 2023. He is a sweet and beautiful kitten, but I do have a number of concerns.1. She provides the vaccines to her kittens at home; not by a licensed vet or LVT. She offered to give my boy his first DAPP when we went to pick him up at 8 weeks.2. She neutered by boy before he even turned 8 weeks old. The date on his neuter paperwork is different than the one I got for her registration; presumably so the clinic would agree to neuter him before he turned 8 weeks.3. Very unprofessional communication.4. Quoted a price higher than her website because apparently she’s increased her prices but hasn’t gotten around the fixing the website.5. The father on his registration isn’t the father I was told during the buying process. She’s a very nice person, but definitely not professional and has questionable paperwork that goes home with your new baby.
Sep 09, 2024 · Kevin CoderaI got my first Sphynx kitten from Lauren in 2005. He was no doubt the love of my life, and I did not have a bad experience when I went to meet him and chose to take him home. The cats seemed very happy and she provided me with a nice “starter kit.” However, he was later diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy and after a little over a year of nonstop vet and ER visits, diligent and loving care and all the medications and treatments/regular scanning that he needed, has passed away in 2012. I had contacted her to let her know that one of her babies had severe heart disease and she was pretty shocked. I had hoped that perhaps she would test her cats and be more careful in her breeding practices. Unfortunately, I have recently heard a lot of very sad and very similar stories about people who purchased sick kittens from her (not just heart disease) over the past 10+ years since my Sphynx died. Cardiomyopathy is a very serious and difficult to manage problem among the Sphynx breed, and certainly can’t be prevented, but I cannot recommend her as a reputable, conscientious, ethical and reliable source for Sphynx adoption.
Sep 09, 2024 · Lisa marroneyI will freely admit that I was not as knowledgeable about the breed then as I am now, but I purchased a male sphynx from here two years ago, and while the cattery was clean and Lauren was very nice, looking back there were a lot of red flags- Poor communication, no paperwork on the Dam/Sire, kitten health guarantee was only good for 72 hours, mixup with processing my payment, kitten was being fed table food. Also, in looking at the website, prices have increased significantly. My kitten came home underweight and riddled with intestinal parasites (even though he had allegedly been dewormed). The diarrhea was ungodly. In May 2024, he was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. He just turned two on 8/28/24. I love him so much and will do everything in my power to keep him happy and healthy for as long as I can, but sadly this disease will continue to advance and destroy his heart. I’ve heard from others who have gotten kittens from here and all of those kittens currently have, or have unfortunately died from some form of congenital heart disease as well.
