For Michiganders considering Synergy Animal Hospital & Chiropractic, the choice is a significant one that requires careful consideration of all available information. The hospital presents itself as a modern facility offering a blend of traditional and holistic care, a model that appeals to many pet owners. However, public reviews reveal a deeply divided experience. On one hand, some reviews praise the clinic and Dr. Fung, stating she is a "brilliant vet" who has "saved my little Shih Tzu's life." Other reviews praise the staff and their kindness and responsiveness. On the other hand, there are deeply concerning and detailed negative reviews. These reviews describe a tragic and traumatic experience where kittens died during a routine neuter surgery, followed by a perceived lack of compassion and professional accountability from the veterinarian and staff. The negative review also mentions that a complaint has been filed with the state board, which is a very serious claim. Furthermore, another review described the clinic as "money grubbers" who were expensive and provided no help for a sick cat. It is crucial for potential clients to weigh both the positive and negative feedback very carefully. The clinic's stated mission of providing a range of services is a notable benefit, but the highly negative experiences shared by some customers, including allegations of a lack of compassion and professional misconduct, must be considered. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of each individual pet owner to conduct their own thorough research and decide if this practice aligns with their expectations for professional care and ethical conduct.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They are money grubbers who don't even care about your pet. I initially took my cat here because I thought they would provide more holistic treatment. They ended up not doing anything to help or support my cat in her time of need, but they got thousands of dollars from me to diagnose her. This vet is more expensive and less helpful than other ones who are much cheaper.
May 02 · Angela SizemoreBoth of my kittens died while under Dr. Fung's care for routine neuter surgery. Our experience with Dr. Fung was terribly traumatic and made worse by how callously we were treated after the deaths of our beloved pets. I have filed a complaint against her license with the state. I was notified that my complaint was reviewed and approved by the board for investigation and that she is currently being investigated by the state and LARA. I have been advised this is a long process and I want to post our story to protect other families and their babies from this type of trauma. We took in our two kittens for routine neuter surgery and both kittens died while under her care that day. I was not notified by the vet herself that both of my animals had died, instead I was called by the office manager. When I arrived to say goodbye to my animals, Dr. Fung never came into see me or explain what had happened. Instead, she had the office manager who is a layperson, attempt to explain why my animals died. She explained that Dr Fung believed both kittens had a genetic anomaly and that both of them, and even their littermates, would most likely have died within a year. (I reached out to the owner of the littermates and they were seen by a cardiologist and scans showed them to have no genetic anomalies.) Dr. Fung took one X-ray of each of my animals post mortem. I was told by the office manager that the doctor was able to determine cause of death from this image and that no necropsy was needed.I was left alone with my two dead babies to say goodbye. When the office manager came back, it was to discuss billing and payment. I was told I could take their bodies and bury them myself or I could pay for cremation services. I told her I had prepaid for services and that I was overwhelmed at the thought of discussing billing during this traumatic moment. I left that day paying additional money to have their bodies cremated at my expense.I only was able to talk to Dr. Fung directly when I scheduled an appointment to discuss what happened to my animals. She said that my kittens had genetic anomalies that she could show me on the x-ray. She compared my kittens X-ray to a "healthy" cat’s X-ray she found online and gave a lengthy explanation of the genetic anamolies she saw in the X-ray. After leaving her office, I reached out to a trusted veterinary professional for help and it was recommended that the x-rays be reviewed by an independent party. After many requests for higher resolution images were denied, I persisted, and her staff finally provided images that were able to be reviewed. The independent review was not able to confirm the congenital defects she purported. She asked to review the report and her response was that the reviewers “primary concern seems to be aspiration pneumonia, which was not the case.” She even went as far as to blame me for the length of time it took to acquire records and have them reviewed by saying, “you did not pursue action until well after the matter”. She was unwilling to reimburse us for the cost of the review or any of the $1135.00 we had given her over the 8 days from when my kittens established care with a pre surgical exam to when they died in surgery.I have been advised that a single veterinarian should not have more than one animal under anesthesia at a time and I have not received a satisfactory answer as to why the second kitten was ever put under anesthesia if the first had coded during surgery. I have so many unanswered questions and I hope this review helps protect other families from this type of tragedy.
January 31 · meghan munroDr Fung and Dr Moree are amazing. My 10 year old dog hurt her neck to the point her front legs couldn't hold her up and she was in pain. I was a mess and was contemplating putting her to sleep. As a last ditch effort I called Synergy. They were able to see my dog the next day! Dr Fung was very honest about my dogs severity but treated us with compassion and care every step of the way. With the expertise from this collaboration, my dog is comfortable and pain-free. Thank you!
May 21 · Ellen HammondI first went to the Parkway clinic in Ann Arbor. I had a poor experience with the Dr there and my cat was left worse off than when he went in. I requested to transfer to Synergy and I was met with Dr. Fung. She treated my cat & he was back to normal in no time. I am ever so thankful to have Dr. Fung take care of my cat. She and the rest of the clinic have been such a blessing to me and my baby and we are so happy to have them as primary care for my kitty. Dr. Fung is knowledgeable, honest, and takes care of the animals so well. I absolutely adore this clinic and will always be taking my pets here. Everybody is so kind, caring, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this clinic!
March 10 · Maddie TimmerAwesome doctors and staff, so kind and helpful! They really helped us when our dog was injured and have been very attentive to our needs. This office offers multiple therapies in addition to traditional methods. I highly recommend this practice. Wish we were able to come inside with our pet!
