The Urban Pet Reviews
Dr Jill Burgess has taken care of our pets for over 20 years. Her knowledge and understanding of pets importance to families, their immediate health and their long-term care and end-of-life care is extraordinary. She helped us walk the lives of 2 dogs. I highly recommend her services. She is moving from her current brick and mortar to a mobile practice to accommodate all families and their needs. I know it will be a successful change. We wish her all the best.
Mar 29, 2025 · Nancy GoodrichMy cat saw Dr. Burgess for 9 years, both at the Urban Pet and her previous practice, and received excellent treatment. This year, I called, left messages, and emailed to schedule an appointment, and heard nothing back. Even if the practice is transitioning and/or no longer doing appointments for some period of time, it’s unprofessional to not give clients notice as well as their medical records, so that they could visit another vet with that information.
Jun 20, 2025 · Kate SchallerI started taking my baby to Dr. Burgess in 2019 and could never imagine taking any of my animals anywhere else! Dr. Burgess is so kind and personable. She is great with my animals. My pup is always excited to see her. She has neutered him and removed a mass from his thigh. You would think after that he would never want to go back but when we pull up at The Urban Pet he can’t wait to get out of the car because he knows he gets to see his good buddy Dr. B! I feel so lucky to have found her!
Sep 26, 2024 · Mackenzie UsherI took my 16 year old cat in for sneezing and upper respiratory issues. They handled her very well and ran full labs and x-rays to rule out any underlying conditions and prescribed her an antibiotic. This visit cost around $300. I wish the review could have ended there with 5 stars!A few days later, my cat started throwing up green bile several times a day and had a watery, irritated eye. I brought her back in and dropped her off for the day as they were busy. They AGAIN did bloodwork and x-rays (just a few days after the first visit) and when I picked her up, they had nothing to tell me. I asked the vet about the cat's eye, and she said "it'll go away on its own". It seemed to me as if she never even took a look at it. This appointment was around $700, and I was never called back with the test results, or any follow up on what could be going on with my cat (turned out she developed an allergy to her food, and stopped throwing up when I switched). Because her eye was not treated, she has formed a full on eye infection that I am having to get treated elsewhere.I feel as if my wallet was completely taken advantage of during my experience with this vet. The office staff was kind, but after having spent SO much money just to not really get any solutions (besides the upper respiratory issue), I would not suggest using this vet office.
Aug 13, 2024 · Gabriela DiCarloDr. Burgess and the staff are wonderful. They took excellent care of my Sadie during her dental cleaning, and explained everything thoroughly. Other animal hospitals in the area charge exorbitant fees for this service, and the cost was very affordable. I highly recommend them.
